  1. So does your neighbors when they go to movin their snow blow it back at ya? Looks like ya covered up somebody's wood pile.
  2. I am going to try to remember and do a short write up with some pics. Problem is I am usually about ready to button it up when I remember "Oh yea I was gonna......."
  3. I was always told about 10 psi per 1000 rpm. Looking at the chart you posted it looks to be about the same. Oil press will drop as it warms up some. I myslef run the Shell Rotella T6 synthetic @ about $21 a gal. Its a 5w40. Pretty good all around oil. As far as the fluctuations of the pressure gauge with turn signal I would say a ground is a good place to start. Charging system I have to defer the question to someone more experienced on that subject.
  4. So ordered up the part. ended up with this one. If it dont work, oh well will have to skip the fries next time or something.
  5. Here is a listing for a RSV light bar. Look at the way it mounts. Here is a Tour Deluxe on ebay. (new) You can see the flat mount bracket is a bit different. But thats not to say you couldnt make it work. Maybe add a alum angle bracket and bolt together if thats all you can find.
  6. Ah as far as I know the TD wont work. The whole way the headlights etc mount up and the way the RSV bracket mounts to the bottom of the triple tree is different. It sucks for sure being limited to the one design. Now what you might do is as your out and about find a TD and see how it actually bolts up. Maybe you can make it work. I sure wouldnt think it would be all that terribly different. I'm just repeating what I have been told.
  7. I just got parts and made my own cord with a 3.5mm plug in. If you look close you can see it piggy backed on the OEM plug in.
  8. I always wondered why they operated as 2 companies, Wysarsky and Whitney. Last I knew they were in Chicago. Guess everything is changing and not always for the better. JC Whitneys parts were from my past experience sometimes a lesser quality. Have not bought anything from them in probably 10yr. Seems to me unless it specificly says it has to meet oem nd dot spec. But thats not to say it going to be a long lasting part. Back in the 70s bought alot from them. In the days before the intronet it was all we had.
  9. The standard so to speak headset is probably the J&M standard 5 pin. Fit most goldwings and earlier Harleys. I have not looked in awhile but I think if you look around and shop you can pick them up under $100 each. Seems to me about 80 or 85. Whith that being said, you can not use the smart phone without an adapter that will pobably run around $50. Buddy rich here was selling them at one time also edsets I think has one, but you have to have a gps that has bluetooth. Knowing what I do now, the cables I have bought and built I would go with something like the Sena smh 10 or 20. You wouldnt gettheuse of CB but not a big deal in my world. But there is a work around for that also. But thats in another thread in the GPS threads. I got like the standard headsets and speaker quality is not great. I ended up building a cable so I could plug in earbuds along with the headsets so I could actually hear the wife clear. Maybe the upgraded speakers would be better, I dont know.
  10. OH man Seaking, I remember all that. You got a keyless by-pass relay from me right. Idea was to just forgo the switch, then you couldnt get it to work, Then on to something else and ended up coils and black boxs etc all bit the dust at same time.
  11. But why go from a dsigned trailer tire, to a narrow bike rim only to mount acar tire. I would think the weight limit in a bike tire less also, unless you set it up to run rear tires. Just say in I thinks your tryin to out think practicality.
  12. I had read sometime back that it would break the mounts off. Also a fellow mounted his flags a little lower as to not cause to much stress, and ended up flags beat the paint off the trunk.
  13. I have liked the Vision ever since I rode it. They are spacy looking. (get it Jetson-spacy) The tranys are kind of clunky, but so are the Milwaukee bikes. But you are looking under like 5k, so you aint finding no vision. For that price you will find some v92 king pins and the like. Good bikes but be aware the early ones had a 3rd gear problem. It was corrected by like 2001 production I think. The older Voyagers and Connies are stellar touring bikes from hat I have heard. The Nomads are decent and not alot of vibration I think. You got time on your side. Also cash spends allday anywhere.
  14. NO I use mainly the phone (sometimes its pluged in to charge) or the GPS which is plugged in for charge. Or if I use the MP3 it is battery powered.
  15. Guess I will wait a bit and see if they get back to me. I sent a message to them both to see what they said. I thought I had another noise filter in tool box somewhere. Maybe I will take another stab at looking for it.
  16. I remember back in the day when you had spark plug wires I use to run solid core ones. Man did they play heck with the radio, and I installed some coil looking thing to eliminate noise. I had to install something like that on the 900 vulcan when I put a radio and stuff on it because it picked up a bit of buzz. that piece looked like an M80 with wires. Of course now I cant find anything at the Shack except the $15 job. Black box looking thin sort of like you described. think I'll go ahead and order the part. What the heck, if it buzzez like crap I can find a filter. Well sent a couple questions out to sellers on these 2 PSU This one and this one. sort of partial to the second one, it looks a bit more robust.
  17. Only $275 from cycle gear. LOL [h=2]LFX27L3-BS12[/h]
  18. Where do I look for "isolated" What is supposed to be isolated.
  19. It would indicate a low voltage issue for sure. I would check connections first and clean them. The ones on the battery first and also the ground on the block of the bike. Also the pesky connections on the main fuse buy the starter solenoid under the left side cover. If it turns out you need a battery I got an AGM from bohannon battery
  20. Those look like the ticket. Exactly what I was trying to find. the bootaroo works fine. What seems like enough extra volume to help the devices get "over the hump" so to speak. It adds a little bass and clears the treble up some. I dont know how but it just sounds better. My thought would be to maybe drill a couple holes in the battery door and feed the wires in and solder to contacts. Then cover it in heat shrink maybe to keep out moisture. (Bootaroo) and tie wrap everything under the fairing. Does this one match the same specs you are talking about? Have to wait on a boat ride for it, but what dont you any more?
  21. So it sounds like it is simply the transmitter that is different. So possibly if you had a display panel, say 5 led lights, then the first gen transmitter should work. It must pick up 4th also as it will allow the cruise to be rengaged.
  22. It puzzles me. Seems every few months someone posta a pic of their scoot, and someone says the antennas are on wrong side. Makes me wonder if thats why I have not had success with the CB on a trip, so I just dont mess with it.
  23. One fly in the ointment. Where I live we dont have a Honda Car Dealership. lol However I did end up getting a "multi-pack from Autozone that had like 3 or so I can make work for the time being.
  24. Have been using the Purolator regular or gold in the longer version of this filter since I have been back to motorcycling. I read a couple rather lengthy articles from "Bobs the oil guy" and a couple others. Best memory can serve the purolator was #1, Mobil 1 #2 and the stp or champion (wal mart brand) right there in 3rd. The Fram and Yamaha filters did not fair well in filtering or longevity. Paper would degrade and come apart. Purolator is a good choice.
  25. Motiv: not necessarily looking to go Blutooth. And I dont own an I-anything. But I would like to find something to conver the CD player cable to something usable. My player has been out since Oct, and I just have not put it back in. Bob: what about this type amp. Connect inline of 3.5 aux cable and stash under the fairing. I dont have room for anything on handlebars.
