  1. Well here was how I came about the 7313. First off NONE of the filter guys will tell you that it is ok to use a car filter on a bike. See the response above from Purolator. I am in the store and know the 14610 and 14612 fit in the past, so gasket and threads are good to go, rite? So next step is to find the cross refference in the boox to other filters they carry. Did you know that the books they put in WalMart in auto section no longer have filter cross reference in the back? Then remembered someone posting that he has used same filter on his Mitsubshi or something. so went to those sections. Ahh found it. In the listing it shoed this Fram filter, and it was dipped at thread area. I compaired it to the MCspecific filter and threads etc were same. Filter a tad longer like the 610.
  2. So this is the short filter right? I dont know if it would actually have more filter capacity or not.
  3. If its got the dip in it like shown you will be OK. Other wise be ready for a puddle of oil the next day. I found it odd that it did not leak under pressure. But sitting static over night I had leakage, Beats me 2 similarly built filters both short so I thought would snug up. They sure felt that way. So I gave up today and looked for 15 min at filters in Wally World. Settled on a FRAM Not my first choice for sure. As far as the ML purolator filters I dont think I have seen one.
  4. Well thought I had this thing fixed, but using the short filter. Today had a very small amount of oil on ground after sitting all night. Say a spot 2 quarters big. So must be something to not being able to draw it down far enough. Went by Wally World on my to run some errands. Did you know they dont handle the super tech oil filters anymore? So I ended up with a FRAM PH7317 It does have to concave threadded part and measures .254 to the top of where the thread starts.
  5. From what the sales fellow told me today they sell them in the 32-37k range if I remember right. He said a little higher than a Can Am but hey you get 1800cc of probably one of the most reliable optioned out scoots on the market. I thought it was pretty dang nice looking. I like it a lot better then the other way around trikes.
  6. OK I have had this bluetooth cable GPS connection thing for probably 2yr or more now and have yet to figure out what the heck is keeping it from working correctly. It is a bluetooth cable similar to Buddy's only this is from ed sets I think. So I have a Garmin 765t, set it to link bluetooth to my phone. All is good I am cruising along and call the house, I can hear phone ring and then the recording comes on. Was a little low on volume so turned up the volume on controller. So a few minutes later I called the wife on her cell phone. Once again could hear her fine, but all she said she could hear on my end was like static. I tried to turn up the IC volume (dont know if that controls the phone mic volume) but still she said cant hear me. So am I missing something that needs to be set up in the GPS?? Does the IC volume control the mic for the phone? I'm about ready to just chunk this whole bluetooth cable thing.
  7. Will be May at least before can even think about it. Have a relay For Life event every weekend unit May that I have to help the wife with. Well I dont have to but it makes life easier if you know what I mean.
  8. I dunno, I kind of like this better.
  9. I had thoughts of taking a large socket, placing it over the center part there and giving it a whack. See if it would concave it. By the time I had made the 3rd trip to the parts store yesterday I was all out of fun and just bought one I was pretty dang sure would go on no fuss.
  10. I walked by one of these today. Had to take a double take. I thought at first it was a modified CanAm. NO way For about the same price this thing would be more pleasurable I would think. Any guesses?
  11. Cant even get them up in the space now. They hit and want to start cross threading. I put the short one on in gold one on. Ran about 180 miles today all seems OK. It tightened up fine for me. Contact and about 1/2 or 3/4 turn. I will probably cough up the coin for the Mobil 1 next time.
  12. OK sports fans. I dug thru the trash con for only you guys so I could take these. Old style 14610. Notice "dip" where threads on. new style more flat. Thus you dont have enough clearance to get straight shot to thread on. Side by side. Maybe this helps clear it up a little.
  13. I will have to see if I can dig all the old filters out of the trash can. The reason I had the Bosch to start with is when I bought the Rotella Autozone had a special on the oils was lower prices, had a rebate and I think the filter was free or something.
  14. If its easy for you, its easy for the thief.
  15. So if I read that right Yamaha is the most reliable? Just about all the metrics beat out the Milwaukee bikes? OH my they must be thinking p some kind of explanation. I did read an article a couple weeks back about "american made" bike reliability and problems. Not even what you might call "reliability" To me that is something that is going to have me brokedown on the side of the road. But just issues with fit finish and minor stuff that dont work right. Radio, saddle bag lids etc. I can tell you HD was not at the top of the not many problem list here either.
  16. I have these I just mounted up. They have a low, high and a flash I guess for accident avoidance. I have been to chicken to run tat mode for fear the law would hassle me. Looks like a very similar light but the one you show has brackets all around it. Kind of adventure bikeish style.
  17. I got a boatload of like 280 and up shims I can donate. LOL I was going to say put some "slip marks" on the bolt heads. If they are still lined up when you get it back, I would bet money they have not touched it. If its missing the center fastener to hold the lower cowls together Its a fair guess they got at least as far as removing them to drain the radiator.
  18. One problem I see is your going to have to A: mount it B: charge it I didnt feel to input signal was loud enough from the GPS and Phone when plugged into the AUX port. I have a Boosteroo so I tried that inline. Works great and improves the bass some and clears it up so you dont have to run as much input volume which somehow seems to distort when you jack the phone way up. So same problem, Boostroo works off a couple 4a batteries. And I didnt want the boostaroo mount and dismount when I parrked the bike etc. So I mounted it uner the fairing. So what do I do for power now? I ordered a Waterproof DC/DC Converter 12V Step Down to 3V converter. I built a battery eleminator and soldered this to it. I used a small dowel and wrapped wire around it and soldered this gizmo in. Hook up to keyed power under fairing and wa-la power. Just sayin, if you mount your little bluetooth thin up under and power it, it will be there when you come out of the store or motel and you wont have to turn it on or worry about charging. Who knows they may have some kind of DC charger they build for them.
  19. I will also say as far as I know its the 99 up RSV and Tour Deluxe that have the ignition switch issue.
  20. The reason the one in Sacramento coast $2 is it was in Calif. How do you mount it up Puc? My buddy bought one @ cycle gear that was magnetic. It also had a regular strap on it for sport bikes with the plastic tanks I supose. Lynn mounted it up on his Sporty in Daytona and headed back to NC. First gas stop the bag had blown off once and he caught it, after that he allways used the strap as a "safety" belt. They are great for the odds and ends stuff, extra glasses, wallet while riding, gloves sometimes I have even put the rain jacket in there.
  21. I have used the long version since I bought the bike. I just got back from the parts store and got the shorter one and so far looks OK. Ran the bike 10 min and so far no leaks. But I didnt have any leaks yesterday either until it sat over night. I can say that I looked the Mobil 1-110 over and it appears to still have the "dished" threads. Sucks though, I have been running the very good gold Purolators for about $7 ea. To jump to the Mobil filter they jump to $13.
  22. I dont know. I didnt measure it. But where he is showing the threads concave the Bosch is flat. I got up today and went out garage anad had a puddle of oil under it. I checked the emblems to make sure nobody swapped it out over night. Nope still a RSV. So I can only imagine not enough"pull" on it to seat? I also just back from the store and a brand new l14610. I cant even get it started on the threads. It hit the frame up above. So I dented the end of the can a little to see if I could get started. Nope want to cross. So now $12-14 into filters that dont work and I'm heading back to the store for a 3rd. MAN I do NOT want to put a fram MC filter on this.
  23. Hey just happened across this thread. I just changed my oil today. I had got a filter from Autozone it is a Bosch 3323, which is supposed to be a direct cross. But where these filters "dip" it is flat. It was a trick and a half to get it up and straight to get it threaded straight.
  24. I searched craigslist in my area. Found someone letting go of a cortech stackable job. I dont even think they make them any more. But the magnets are really strong. One bag is larger than the other so you can adjust to what size bag you want to take. I have been using the smaller I think they call it 10 liter bag. This i it on my 900 vulcan with half of it.
