  1. Looks good. I was thinking maybe you went and got part of it wrapped or some graphics.
  2. Easiest way to do it is the 3/4" P clamp. 1/4 x20 screw/bolt will thread rite into the HD muffler the to P clamp. Its easy and faster than fabricating up the bracket. First set of these I put on mine I made up a bracket for one side, then I decided to just go the clamp route.. If you search around the web for something like HD mufflers with cats you may get some info on years. Then go to a HD OEM parts listing and get your part numbers, you will need a left and a right. If I remember right HD only put a cat in one side. But the sides have different part #.
  3. Morgan I think it is makes one of those in kind of a indy racer looking motifs.
  4. The solid state pumps are the way to go. The Faucet are the ones with the check valve if your worried about hydro locking. I just always turned the petcock off. I didnt want a heated fuel tank to pressurize and force fuel into and thru carbs. The vent is "supposed" to not let it do that.
  5. I learned with Oxy Acetylene and coat hangers. My buddy had torches and he taught me on our first race car how to weld with gas. Then a neighbor traded me some of my services for a lincol 220 AC barn box. I still have it. Burned a ton of rod with that thing. Built several race cars and cages with that. Then here in Fla I bought a Legends Race Car and needed to weld up some stuff and Sears had a wire feed on sale for like $100. I bought it and had to learn all over. I did take a welding course or 2 at the local college in Oklahoma when I was stationed out there. Instructor put me on some scrap and a AC/DC barn box. Here put this together, after the junk I had been welding no problemo. He's "not bad", then he takes me over to a wire feed. I never saw nothing like that before. My welds looked like bubble gum, he made me weld with the dang thing for weeks.
  6. Dont know much about boats. Even though growing up my dad had a couple. What I remember most is him having to work on it almost everytime we took it out. Dont know which years but Merc had some issues with those out drives. I think it was some sort of leak. Hope you have some fun with it.

    Ear Bud, IEM

Years back I pulled into a gas n go stop. Cop was next to me and when I pulled helmet off I just kind of popped one out. He mentioned something and I guess because I could hear him and respond he said have a good ride and left. I worry more about someone not seeing me, than me not seeing them and hearing them. I still get a start though when them crotch rockets come screaming by 2 gears lower than what they need.
  8. Just browsed and article in Road Runner cycle mag they did on tires. The Dunlap 400 series didnt do real well. I know they made all kinds of racket for me and I didnt like no tread in center.
  9. Wow Scary to say the least. I work in a college and teach automotive. It is a constant battle the first semester to get these folks to wear eye protection. I never was a safety glasses person either. Just lucky eye guess. Welding and cutting building race cars, I have got crap in my eyes and it hurt. But nothin like yours. If you wear eye glasses they make some ez to put on side shields that can give you some protection there. Thats what I use now that I have to wear prescription glasses If you interested PM me and I'll shoot you the info. Take care .
  10. So my high dollar ear plug/buds have evidently bit the dust. I have gotten rather use to riding with ear plugs now. I wired in a 3.5mm plug so I can hear my music/SENA/phone (if needed) GPS etc thru the SENA. The oe speakers for the sena are poor to me. So I have rode with ear buds for quite awhile, but probably last 7 or so with more of hearing protection type "fitted" plugs from work that had speakers in them for radio monitoring. Well last year or so I felt like the left was cutting in and out. Couple weeks back I got to inspecting and the insulation is basically rotted off the wires right up at mold. I tried to use that liquid tape stuff, but no good. So this led me to searching the web for "molded ear buds" then eventually something like DIY molded ear buds. It led me to IEM'm (in ear monitors) I didnt know what the heck they were talking about until I saw them. So I found a pair on Amazon that had good reviews and am going to . All in will be about $45 I ponied up a bit more for the monitors than the el cheapos. I know quite a few folks ride with ear plugs as wind can kill ya after a long day. I made that mistake once on the Kawaski.

    Vogel 2021

Dont know if we would make it or not. But the first date I could, because school would not have started yet. WE love that area though.
  12. My 2 favorites were the Michelin Commander 2 and the Shinko. When I turned a lot of miles in a year the MC was the tire for me to use. The Shinko while milage is a bit less, well OK for me was about 6k less but priced right.
  13. I was thinking ritchy ratchet (gearwrench) I have a few in select sizes. If you have a Harbor Freight they have a similar tool. If you dont have lok tite handy fingernail polish will do the trick.
  14. Couple ways to look at "repairable or salvage" titles. If you can pay cash (dont think banks will touch a salvage title) and you like it and are going to drive until you've had your fun and dont even think your going to turn a profit on resale, your good. Some states will issue a clean title if fully repaired and inspected. I had the hots for a CTSv wagon stick once that was a salvage car.
  15. LOL I find it funny those of us that chose to ride something else can pick them out in a huge crowded deal like this. I saw a news clip the other night and they were going on about one of the largest gathering of HD motorcycles. Shows a clip of folks riding some twisties and a Nuclear Sunset (orange) and Antifreeze green Vics go sporting by. The angular design still stands out in a crowd. When we are traveling I can almost always pick out a RSV.
  16. First new bike was a KZ 750. We put a windjammer fairing on it and backrest, luggage rack. I may have put some bags on it I dont remember now. But I have rode a few that at the time I really thought were cool. While I had the KZ a friend I rode with had a Honda CX500 I think it was. It had the smaller vetter angular fairing, but it had good power for its size. I really wanted the Honda CB 900. The one that had the dual speed hi/low trans. I thought that would be a good tour bike.
  17. They have like 2 positions. An acc and a run. The contacts can get arc and then dont make good contact. There is a thread here in the 2nd gen fix on how to take it apart and clean the contacts. I make a relay that by pass the high amps from the switch. But figure out what you got going first. So you have no lights at all? Try switching the kill switch on and off a few times and may clean contacts. If you decide to take that switch apart be advised there are some tiny springs in there.
  18. Well h#ll, here I am what almost a year from posting the original and I still aint replaced the battery. LOL Have not had the problem with it dying in just a few hours. But I am now tracking another problem. Unit seems fine first say 40 min or so. Then occasionally the comm gets scratchy like poor connection. If I'm listening to music it is fine. Only happens in comm. Hers comes in scratchy to me and mine to her. I have contacted SENA and used chat and their suggestion was was reset both comms back to factory setting and re do all the BT connections. Today tried it out and same same. So a little more research and some BMW guys had similar problems and a battery change fixed their issue. I also read where mounts had cracked and circuit boards got loose etc. So this will probably be my next step. My issue is I have a Bell Mag 9 so the mount is like an integral mount that slides in between the liner and shell, its special. Also add that I have modified it to plug in ear buds because the OEM speakers ummmm suck. Have not researched a battery to replace yet. I'm sure You Tube can help me out.
  19. Heating coils softens the springs, cutting coils out shortening them normally stiffness them up. I use to do both for my street stock race car. Depended what I needed.
  20. Jeep= “Just Empty Every Pocket” My son bought an 07 with a new motor for decent money. Has a few issues. Steering box was puking fluid. No problem a new rebuilt box was only $225 exchange. Both axle seals are leaking, oh yea they are the Dana type you pull axles and have to press bearing on and off axles so only $100 a side to fix plus labor. And did I mention he is about as mechanically inclined as a door knob? Hope you enjoy the Jeep. We all find stuff to spend money on, thats what keeps the economy going.
  21. Not gonna say much for resale is it? But still a nice bike for the price. I paid around 10k for the Victory I cant count how many years back now. Then Polaris disconues the line and prices dropped. But I never buy anything based on what resale "might" be.
  22. Passing light are the big lights mounted high. However some may also call them driving lights. To me driving lights are mounted low like fog lights.
  23. They have had a couple of those over in Ft Myers and Port Charlotte in last say 2 months also. Usually pools with no screen patio or no metal lower. They break out the screen and help themselves.
  24. Yea I know when I went to Amazon it came up unavailable. But there are several same ones there that are. My monitor is tucked in beside GPS mount and easy to see. I also have a android plug rite there to plug monitor in when battery for it goes dead. For me as far as phone app goes I dont always have my phone in the mount, so if a warning went off, dont know if I would get notice. Whatever system you choose they are a good tool.
  25. I went with a similar system. I also ordered up T valves after having them about 2 months. I was changing tires anyways. But getting my gauge and the TPMS to read the same is impossible. But as long as you know where your TPMS reads according to the gauge you have used for years it dont matter. I went with this system VS the phone read out as I dont always have the phone out where I can see it.
