  1. I have replaced my rears, but I dont remember if I put sintered or not. I found out a long time ago pads are cheaper than replacing rotors. So softer pads that wear faster are not all bad.
  2. 05 and up TD same as RSV. Here is complete motor from pin wall under $900 + shipping. Or move up in the world for $4400.
  3. When my dunlap E-3 got worn down it made the bike howl. The way the tread wears it "feathers" and for whatever reason it creates that noise. Even my Michelin Commander 2 when it got to the end of its life got noisy. So check the tire depth and make sure you have enough air in it. I run mine in the 40 psi range.
  4. Find Bob Myers. He and another fellow developed snaggly bar or something to help mounting stuff on the 1st gen bars. I have a very inexpensive one off e-bay, think I gave $20 for it. You could remove the bolt at whatever joint on bracket and tap a hole in handlebar and bolt it up to bars and keep the articulation part of holder.
  5. I have had something like that happen more than once. Air in masters and lines and calipers get stuck in funny places from time to time. Try bleeding them out again.
  6. Absolutly stupid one side is $11 and the other is 20. Thats as dumb as a screen door in a submarine. Gurranty I can make it work .
  7. Vot something that looks sort of promising on horizon. Have to drive an hour to work 1 way and is way short of what I use to get . But will help pay bills.
  8. I would order the cheapest one. I bet you can make it work. Wort thing is you might have to add a strip of foam tape to top to take up a smidgin of a gap, but I doublt it. Do you have set back risers on it? If so look at it and you can tell the dampeners are doing nothing, as they have nothing to sit against. The dampener should have double face tape on it I imagine to stick to the flat of triple tree. Clean up with alcohol (not the kind you drink preferably) and mount it up.
  9. I to have a rear brake modulator. Basicly they are a "modified" turn signal flasher if my memory serves correct. during recent threads involving turn signals and LED and the flashers either require modification or you have to install some kind of load thing-a-ma-bob to make the flasher draw enough amps to flash like regular bulbs. SO I wonder if maybe this is part of the problem. I do have LED brake, and under the trunk lights and it just so happens I checked the yesterday and they all work A OK.
  10. Congrats. Thats a big deal no payments. We look @ new to us cars, but man I sure hate to have that $300-400 month hanging over my head. Especially not having a job at this time.
  11. Who da heck knows why the price difference. Because they can??? I just went out and measured a couple of aspects of them. Only significant difference I can see is a slight taper from left to right. So sitting on the bike looking at the right hand one it is slightly taller on the left side because the fairing drops. (I might be backwards but thats what it does is slope a tad) The dampeners mount with double stick tape if I remember right. If you have a pair of set back risers on your bike they are not even doing any good as they have nothing to support themselves against. Kirby had some round dowel things made up that he sold me that I had to drill and tap and allowed them to mount where the bars used to be and fit in the round part of rubber to help support once bars are moved back. Now if nobody is making those things anymore, I'm thinking a couple of cheap sockets with the proper diameter could be made to work.
  12. Yea as best could tell in picture they looked the same. But shaped a bit different when I tried to plug it into mine. So as I thought about it originally I was just going to solder the wires onto the new bulbs hi/low wires. Then I got to thinking, what if say in a couple years this bulb dies and I need to replace it? (I got 2 bulbs when I purchased the replacement ones last week so I have a spare) I would have to cut and solder again. So I opted for a connector I can just crimp on.
  13. New replacement bulb arrived today. I got it installed and while hooking up the hi/low connector its slightly different than what my old bulb was. So had to do some engeering and clipped my connector off old bulb and used a couple 1/4" flat spade connecotrs to the new bulb. So all is good. The power and ground were OK. So its all up and working now.
  14. I liked the 130 front tire. I did go back to oem size last summer when I bought new tires. But I think next change I'll go back to the 130. I am running balance beads and so far they have worked well in the last 3 sets.
  15. Motorcycle Superstore is where I have got some good deals. They will price match.
  16. Brake check comes to mind. so did the "hey amigo watch theese" Most be moch better roads than the last ones I drove on down there. I spilled beer everywhere in the bus.
  17. YUP big ole thread here somewhere we were discussin that. Trying to remember what manufacture I crossed the long Purolator to, but opened the box and it had the right innards. Probably the Mobil 1 or Bosch
  18. I'm thinkin you just beat him outa $200 bucks. You could put one in yourself for about $60.
  19. The way the cup face is pointing on the top one looks like it would just push off the shaft.
  20. Don did you get a GPS? Seems I remember some discussion about that. I can link some of the route I have run up that way. Usually we run up I75 to Macon Ga then get on 441 I think it is and stay the night in Madison Ga. Then continue north on that road to wherever we are going. Franklin Nc on 28 or Saphire , Highland whatever.
  21. Ragtop, Ah gotcha. Yea I ordered a replacement bulb from someone in Oregon. When parts got here they were wrong, contacted and sent shipping label and refund shortly there after. So that was a bonus.
  22. Hmm best of my knowledge the Avalance is built on 1500 platform. Never saw any 3/4 ton. Now may have trailer tow package and more gear etc to go with big block. Now I got to go look. OK I stand corrected. Looks like 02-06 they made 3/4 ton.
  23. I like the Kuryakin ones I have. Will have to look up the name. But you buy them in pieces sort of. Clamps, and the sort of "Z" shaped piece and the pad. Mine are the bigger kind. OK called Iso peg. but its triangle shaped. Dualy I belive is what name is.
