So a fellow member was nice enough to order one of my relays. He is one of our fellows north of the boarder. So this happens 3 1/2 months ago. Today he informs me it finally arrived. Geez I sure want to trust my mail in ballot to this system. I did find out it made it to the Canadian side about the 15th of this month. So subtract what 2 weeks maybe, so the rest of the time getting from Fla to wherever to cross. Thanks to Darryl Peterson for being understanding with this mess.

I think this is the suit I got.

I tried to find the rain pants I bought for us a couple years back. But no dice. Any who they have a velcro flap and a zipper all the way up the legs. I thought they wer like Nelson Rigg but didnt see them. I bought yellow, jackets are mainly yellow with some black and the britches are black with a wide yellow stripe up side. Not into black or blah rain gear. Its a low light situation and I want to be seen if possible. Yes the rain here in Fla is hit and miss and your 100% rite. Unless it is storming bad its a toss of the coin to gear up.

I venture a guess, if you fall off your scoot a warranty claim on on rain gear is least of your worries.

Yea I know that. But it suits the purpose. Saving a couple days travel time up to beginning. Depending on which day you started might effect traffic. Besides from what he said the train arrives up there around 9 or so and an hour to get your bike maybe so traffic should be thinned out some. Here is video.

We live in Central Fla about 2 hours or so from Sanford. I caught a year or so back a fellow on You Tube from Tampa area that made that ride from Va down the SNP and BRP. He rode over to Sanford, hopped on the auto train and loaded bike up. It dropped him off up in VA and he motored on over to the park way. Video was pretty good.

More mounting space
djh3 replied to Papabird's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I wired in a couple of 12v connections for phone and GPS. I used Ram mounts on the bars and everything was visible and out of way of dash. The ram mounts have different lengths of "center" sections from like a couple inches to 4 or 5" long I think. -
We go up for a week in October around the 10-14th. We stay with a friend down by the Ga NC boarder and make a day trip up. Mostly I have ridden Waynesville to Cherokee area. But there are some other nice roads depending on how much time you have. Moonshiner 28, roads around Fontana dam, Cherohala Parkway. I personally would not recommend the Dragon. I have had 2 bad experiences there last 2 times so its way off my list. Big rig tried to kill on the lower end @ the restaurant and before that had some idiot on sport bike using my lane going opposite direction almost head on. Depends mostly on where your staying I suppose.

You taking the rubber thing that holds the plug? Try some heat from like a hair dryer, dont sit right on it and burn paint, just trying to warm the area. Heck if your here in Fla, just let it sit out in sun for a couple hours. Then something like an old credit card maybe to get under it and also lift and it should come off. Then the glue goof off or WD 40 or alcohol should get the remnants off.

TRICARE Prime– When seeking care under TRICARE Prime, you may be referred to either a military facility or an in-network caregiver. Read more: https://militarybenefits.info/tricare-prime/#ixzz6XnFmKsPS

A fellow I follow on You Tube Adam Sandoval went to a rally in Texas last year. I dont remember where, but its an annual deal that has been going on. The mess he documented left by those "bikers" made me sick. To think folks I am loosely associated into a group with would leave trash everywhere but a trash can made me mad. I know how Sebring is here after the 12 hour race, OMG what a trash heap. It takes a crew of like 8 guys over 2 weeks to clean up the race track from junk like that left afterwards.

Ones I see valves are on side. But back to Sturgis. Wonder how many cases of just plain ole flu were spread there and they count it as the bug c-19. Some how money has to be attched to cases or else they wouldnt be trying to connect every death whether gunshot, traffic accident or medical to it.

Part of my reason for thinking about a VPN. Also looking in to using an internet TV service and they recommend a VPN to partially keep xfinity out of my business of what I watch.

One of my big struggles/complaints on the whole thing is the inconsistency. One week its "warm weather will knock this down" Now that summer is over and cases are still climbing they switch some other narrative. Then they say "wear a face cover" Any covering will at least knock down the "unseen enemy" Then hear a few weeks later oh the gators are worse than nothing. Really? Now some are on the rampage of the mask with the valve not preventing it. Grrrrr The VA just sent an email out saying you can not wear the valve masks to their facilities.

Very well explained. We show in the Auto Tech class the 1 strand wire thing. We have actually run a small light bulb on the wire and cut strands and eventually it just melts the wire because to much of a load for the size of the wire. Also your last bit there on signal voltage is good to note if you go to troubleshooting CAN Bus stuff. Test lights are out folks. They can cause to much draw and fry the module. I have read the LED test lights are less likely but the regular bulb jobs just draw to much. Try to keep my guys and gals straight. If it dont work and the fuse is burned its a short. If fuse is good its an open.

So not sure which "news" story to believe. Most of the ones I read a few weeks back all claimed " Sturgis crowds down 250k expected" Now if you believe them everybody got it. All the pictures make it look very crowded. But no matter how many showed up, everyone crowds to the same spots. Very few wearing masks, 10 feet tall and bulletproof I suppose. Anyway crowded spots are not a good idea even in flu season. But everyone want their own "freedom" to do what they want. And thats fine until it causes someone else grief, then they aren't making a decision just about them.

2008 Royal Star Venture headlight
djh3 replied to DP57's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I think I ran an HID for awhile. Low beam was good, high beam just never seemed as focused as it should be. Worked good just seemed off a bit. At that time "good" LED headlights were still very pricey for me. The RSV uses 1 bulb for high and low. The HID uses a "shield" that changes angle to give the high beam. LED I think light up another bank of diode. My current Victory uses separate bulbs, so I run HID in low and a regular in the high. On my RSV I had H1 LED bulbs I found on ebay that worked well. Some have changed out the entire bulb with an LED work light from norther tool. They are a PAR 36 bulb I think. If you go LED I would suggest one that has a beam adjustment screw. The ones I am using in both our trucks have them and it makes a bunch of difference in getting the beam where you want it. -
I remember them years living in Southwest OK. We came back to town one year from Florida and it was late at nite. They had been harvesting cotton for a week or so since we were gone. There was so much fluff blowing around town by the Gin it looked like it was snowing.

Yea I'm on "select". They say if I dont pay the ransom I can go to the closest military base and use facilities on a space A bases. LOL Yea like I'm gonna drive 2 hours to take a chance a Doc will see me. What a guy to do though? Tell them kiss off and have nothing? Not likely and they know it. Next up will be co-pays up and yearly deductibles going up again I'm sure.

Just because you have voltage, dont mean its going to do anything. The definition we teach is "the potential to do work". I have checked many a battery with 12v that will hardly light a turn signal. Amps is what ya need to make it do the work.

OOPS some reason it pasted the link for Dodge truck vin equipment list build sheet. Sorry about that. Try this

So have any of you got your letter telling you your "free" health care is now going to have a fee? Seems back in 2017 Congress decided it was to a good a deal for us retires and we need to pay a "enrollment fee". I just sent an email to our rep in my district. Will it do any good? Doubt it. I'm just going to be out the bucks as I'm sure the 2% COLA we might get aint no way gonna cover it. If I only had worry about me I would go totally VA.

Hey just ran across a post for a fellow making these. Here is the link. They are made from 50 cal shells.

What tools do you carry? I did a review of CruzTools Metric kit
djh3 replied to VentureFar's topic in Watering Hole
I never leave home with out my original issue leatherman tool. From there on trips I usually throw a 8,10, 11, 13mm wrench in and I think its a 6mm allen that fits the head light on the Vic incase the headlight goes out. Had this happen once at nite visiting my brother in law one night. Had to run home with high beam only 90 miles. Also a tire plug kit and one of those c02 cartridge inflators.
