  1. Yup found this. Although no exact date your ball park. Thats about when I thought, I was thinking 72.
  2. Didnt somewhere around 70 the US gov make Britt bikes put the shift/brake stuff on the same side as everyone else? I seem to remember riding a friends twin Triumph and it had correct controls. I want to say actually the way they did it was cross over linkages under the bike. Now the 250 Bultaco I took off flyiing down a trail on and didnt remember the bacwards controls, thats a different out come.
  3. Couple nice Jack and Ginger ales before bed time will help. I suffer the same thing before a trip. I guess you want to get going. But if you dont have a good nites rest the day before...........
  4. Well yesterday I went to look for my old pump to see if it actually has a check valve or not. As luck for me goes right now its playing hide and go seek.
  5. Yea I think there is a small red light in the CB button that will be on.
  6. Yup thats what I remember about my years in Oklahoma. Riding those years in the "dry heat". LOL Hot is hot. Oven or steamer you still cook, so pick your poison I guess.
  7. Was over in Daytona @ the speedway yesterday. 106 or something heat index and we were sitting in alum bleachers watching some races. MAN when you would get off the bleachers it seemed 10 deg cooler.
  8. Spent the day with my son. Picked him up @ 630 am and we drove up to Daytona to see a Global Rally Cross race. Took the truck because I knew it was going to be over 100 deg heat index, (final read when we were leaving was 108) We had a good time and enjoyed it. Its good to spend time with him now even though he is grown and go his own kiddos. But those are for my wife I think.
  9. The tranmitt button on the left handle bar. If I'm not mistaken when you are using the CB and want to transmit it "knocks" out the radio. I personally dont know as I have never used the CB. But it stands to reason. SO maybe the button is stuck in XMIT.
  10. I did the write up, so I got the Mr Gasket. I still have my oem and on another board we are having the check valve discussion also. If I can remember tomorrow Im going to check and see if I can determine weather or not there actuall is a ck valve or not.
  11. Run them bad boys up @ 40-41 lb and you should get many many miles out of them. like12-15k or more.
  12. Steve, let me know if you need anything. So far I still have mine. LOL
  13. Yea I had thought about the checked flag. Also thought about black with a whit pinstripe in sort of a fat with a thinner one on top of that. Say 1/2 for the large.
  14. Well you might as well, get some dielectric grease, and some contact cleaner. Spray them round connectors and apply some grease and put them back togeter and see what ya got. Somewhere is a list of speakers that will fit. Me personaly I wouldnt go hi buck on speakers. Anything above about 45 or so they dont sound very good anyways from the road noise. I use earbuds on longer rides and have built a connector so my ear buds plug into the OEM system.
  15. Is that Sonny's brother?
  16. If you didnt have any of the comm wires apart, I think maybe your just a victom of circumstance. I would look towards the controler having some corroded switches. I think its all sealed up and you will have to take apart to shoot some contact cleaner in there.
  17. I can tell you I have tried these type in the brake position and dont work worth a hoot. I have tried these bulbs in the turn and brake and they were not much better than a regular bulb and flashed so fast I was not sure someone could differentiate if it was even on.
  18. So kinda like the loud HD with drag pipes.
  19. While I'm not a graphic artist by any means I have painted and designed some paint schemes for some race cars that have been pretty sharp. I will take a poke here, but the bike is black with white pin striping. I would think maybe you want to stay in the same scheme. I will take a bet if in your area there is a shop that does "wraps" they can do you something up for less money and aggravation then painting it. I will copy and clip a couple of your pics and see if I come up with something I like.
  20. I dont know. I know on auto motors to actually what size bearings for internals you should mic them or plastigauge to see if worn and need replacing.
  21. Last time I went (couple years ago) most of the area that boarder the US our bucks work OK. You need to look, usually usd are worth more on the exchange, so they are happy to take them. I took some Canadian bucks with me like $50, mostly I used one credit card I had called and told them I was going. When you use a credit card it figures the exchange rate automaticly for that day. Always worked good for me. Passport, an insurance card from your company with the Candian requirments. If the agent at the boarder asks you any questions at their shack, DONT step up to the window!!!!! I seemed to occupied her space and she didnt like it. Check wait times where your going to cross. Some have really long wait times.
  22. Did you feel it in the pedal or your braking hand. Sometimes a warped rotor will give you some "feedback" thru them.
  23. AH yea didnt even think about the switch for the cruise. On the clutch replacement/freshen I dont know. I have 38k+ on mine and clutch is fine. I think the thing most guys do is either change just the pressure plate or add the "half disk" or whatever its called. Stiffer springs I think is what most guys do. Gives better clamp power. Skydoc is the fellow to ask.
  24. I found some bulbs like that and am using them in my passing lights. They work decent for that. Dont know how they would be for turn signals. Like I said the cheap-o led bulbs off ebay dont do a good job. If you dont use a resistor to increase load on the flasher the blink really fast.
