After reading the first say 6 or so I was also thinking make it an every othe year thing maybe. Would give folks 2yr to organize and look at rides. I have not been to one but would love to. So far my work (or lack of here lately) has been a stumbleing block. But I can see the travel time folks have to go is a stumbeling block. But no matter where you do it someone has a further trip. We have same problem here in Fla with our meet and eats. Shoot we have folks from Miami to Daytona, to north of Tampa. Maybe on a bi-annual every couple year thing folks could plan it further out for vacation time. We usually plan a trip on the bike 2nd or 3rd week in Oct to the mountians as it has cooled off and sometimes the leaves are nice.

Stay heads up. I don't suppose that would be one of "tax free" zones you get to keep all your paycheck while deployed eh? I remember during Desert Shield we had some places guys didnt have to pay income taxes on pay check. But it sure ain't worth the trade off. Good luck stay safe hope to hear from you off and on.

Ya know sometimes you have to wonder about their thoughts behind placement of things. Like the TV and the furniture. And type of furniture they put in them. Some very very nice like in the Raptor stuff. Others you might as well toss out because they sit like bricks.

Well figure out what they are worth to you. Contact the fellow and see if you could arrange pick up. See if he will sell them straight out to you. Or else just figure what they are worth to you and put in a max bid. It will auto bid up to that point. I have been watching Sena headsets. There are some really dumb people out there. I can find brand new dual headset for about $225 give or take 15 bucks depending on when I look. There have been some used ones come up for sale. And dumb a$$ bid them up more than what brand spanking new ones would cost. I just dont get it

Driver backrest. Who's got one? What do you think of it?
djh3 replied to Great White's topic in Watering Hole
I have I think its a Utopia. It was on the bike when I bought it. But its nice. Can be adjusted some up and down, and a set screw type deal for pushing you forward if needed. I am a little shorter so I had to move the backrest forward to meet me. It certainly is nice. Only draw back is occasionally I get a foot hung up when getting off. Usually I am OK as long as the wife don't try to help me by repositioning the backrest. It will move up into the seat so its easier to get around, until she stands it up in the "ride" position then it just messes me all up. -
Some of the same questions I asked. I also said I would like some specs as to weight and tire condition. I think if it has been sitting say a year or more tires are probably junk. I asked about the roof condition and if the tarps were preventative or to keep a leak stopped. Also why is the flooring needing replaced? Old age and wore out or damaged. I have a 3/4 ton Ram with diesel and stick shift but wife says we would need a different truck. She dont like the paint and thinks she wouldnt go on vacation in it. Well that and her dog is 80 lbs and takes up 1/2 the cab.

I have been poking around looking at toy haulers. Ran across this 5th wheel. Pretty cheap so it makes me thing what the heck all is wrong with it. The outside looks pretty bad, but that comes from sitting outside down here in Fla. any ideas what and how to clean with? I though someone else had asked a similar question here not to long ago.

E-bay can be your best help. The Kuryakyn are sort of "built" Its peg is one part # the clamp part is another etc. So if you figure what part # you need you can just scour e-bay for the parts separately if you want. Thats how I ran across mine. The clamps were a take off part for less than half cost of new. Here is a pair used. E-mail seller and see what size the clamp is. Worst case you buy a set of 1" clamps.

2007 RVS lets me down for the second time in a month
djh3 replied to rickardracing's topic in Watering Hole
First thing to start looking at is the connections. Connector at battery all the way down to and including the main fuse and starter solenoid. Ground battery and connection at the engine block on bottom right side engine. Probably wouldnt hurt to get a multi meter and check out the charge system if you can. -
2nd Gen Windshield Bad In The Rain
djh3 replied to uechi kid's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I ran into similar issue last fall. Rained and humidity was up so back of shield kept fogging up. I finally had to stop at a Wally World and bough a shower squegee so I could clear windshield. -
Allways kind of liked the looks of them. The motors are a pretty solid piece on those to if I remember right.

Noise on PRV175 coming from HID Ballast
djh3 replied to syscrusher's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Thanks for info. I am pretty sure the one I linked is not the "exact" one I bought. LOL Its been awhile back and its not in my listing anymore on e-bay. So I just threw a quick search in and that one looked sort of what I got. I just installed mine on the power for the feed for my GPS I think. Hmm now I dont really remember. Shoot might have even been the 900 Vulcan now that I get to thinking about it. Oh Boy whats that mean???? -
Where do I go from here??
djh3 replied to Condor's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I meant to flush out the purple power. -
Hmmm Maye some additional lights like my bottom ones? That way you could point them where you want them a little better. My HID had sort of a "no mans" zone with the halogen bulbs in the passing lights. I think its better with the LED's. The little ones I have mounted down by my feet are off e-bay and were around $35. 1200 lumins

djh3 replied to Condor's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I think if you look at Autozone the purple stuff is cheaper than the Simple Green. I'm trying to think of the other thing I read to flush your system out on like a regular coolant change. I want to say it was vinegar at 2:1 water/vinegar. Maybe if you are going to do the flush with the degreaser take the thermostat out so it flows a little more. Or drill a bunch of holes in the unit you are taking out so it will by pass water a little faster. -
PHEW that could have ended much worse than it did for sure.

Let the discussion begin.
djh3 replied to Freebird's topic in Star Venture and Eluder Tech Talk ( '18 - Present)
I have read alot about the HD sound system. Now are you all talking about it thru speakers on the bike? If so how is the comms??? I think any new bike is going to have to have Bluetooth connectivity. Just makes sense in today's market. As far as speakers on the bike, not a plus in my book, around town they are fine but on a cross country trip I use either ear buds or speakers in my helmet. Even now I am considering going SMH10 route to get rid of wires and connect bluetooth. -

Here are some others. Noise suppressor 1 This is like the one I installed. -
OK here is the bulbs I put in the housings. Kind of like these. Only with the H3 bulbs. These would probably work, you would just want to make sure there was a replacment LED bulb available if thats what you decide. Also would need the correct connector, but it looks to be a standard type for automotive fog lights. My 02 Durango has connectors like this.
-
I will have to look the bulbs up. The housing I guess you would call it is an Adjure clear. It came with Halogen bulb I think H3. I replaced it with CREE LED. Will have to check wattage.

I understand the jacks are "nice to have" but if I was looking at a used unit I do,t think it would be a deal breaker if priced rite.
