  1. I was happy when I got my 09 and it had the CD player. But soon found out that for long trips with the wife it has to come out to have any luggage room.
  2. On the open wheel race cars I built transaxles for, we used a piece of brass welding rod with hi and low marks. Open service bolt, insert rod til bottoms and see where level is.
  3. Should be fine. I have been pretty happy with the mini toggle switches from radio shack. Small easy to hide.
  4. The longer toy haulers have the 3-4 feet closest to the gate on an angle on some models. The Raptors I looked at where big and heavy and way off the ground. Look liked were made for 4 wheelin off road. There are some tag alongs with the drop back but are in the long lengths.
  5. If I am traveling anywhere beyond very local I use earbuds. I have built a cable I can plug them into. Way better sound than you could get out of the speakers on the bike. They are not even an expensive pair. I think maybe $20 off e-bay, a pair of sony explodes of some sort.
  6. Well I kind of abstained my vote. I just started back to work after being basically laid off. (downsizing) I am at a local college so other than a couple breaks wont have any time off. Only a part time position so no bennies.
  7. EWW maybe not so good. Temp fix maybe and shop around for the spot lights. There are plenty of the 4.5 light housing for sale. As long as they would be rmovable down the road.
  8. Just google for a pic of something like 2005 yamaha RSV. Probably 40% of the pics will show light bars on the front. Now as far as that particular bar quality, workmen ship etc I cant say. I have heard past guys say the chrome wasnt long lasting on the china made ones. As far as the lighting goes, thats going to all depend on what you select to put in there. From the $8 each incandescent sealed beam to the close to $300 LED trucklite jobs.
  9. Yup kind of what I was going to say. Lay a straight edge along it and if you have a gap, its bent. Its a pretty hefty chunk of metal and unless its been abused, I would doubt its bent.
  10. I ran a pair of the MC 2 on my RSV and got over 17k out of them. Solo I ran just a pound or maybe 2 on the front under max. Rear one pound I think under max. Drop Michelin a line and they will let you know for sure.
  11. Answer is: Penzon=If one up or two up. Loaded or unloaded, flat land, average speed and so it goes. For me overall average loaded 2 up is right at 165-175. But when I have the boss a couple hours is about all I can get before I start hearing noise.
  12. DOUGH I though it was going by by.
  13. SilverT you also need to change your profile. LOL
  14. Hmm seems we just had this discussion on the fairing hitting or almost hitting risers just a few weeks ago. The rubber vibration dampeners had fallen out and he had to make some. Look here for one thread Here is another with a crafty fix from M61A1MECH
  15. Hit and miss on their jacks. I have a alum "racing type" jack that has given me many years of good service. But when I worked in a race shop we bought 2 of the hyd lift tables (supposedly like 500 lb cap) and they lifted a maybe 100 lb gearbox 2 or 3 times before it puked. We had O rings and I rebuilt the one, but it still only lasted about 3 months. The shop bought 3 of the same racing type jacks I have and they still work far as I know and are like 15yr old. For whatever reason the lift stands and tables, ATV type jacks just dont seem to have good jacks in them.
  16. I have a Dowco Rally Pac. Kind of like a back pack and also had a roll bag that goes on top. Well made, only thing I would like is a little beefier zippers.
  17. Just tryin to help.
  18. Want to trade for a Venture? LOL
  19. How about the @#$ that just HAS to pull out infront of you and do 10 under the speed limit so you have to jam the brakes, and there is no traffic behind you. REally?? You jerk you couldn't wait like 3 sec for me to pass before you turned? From my past days flying around the US and going thru airports. The Mr Business suite man with the balding head and the micro pony tail of 2". News flash dude, the 60's are gone and so is your hair. (apologies to the english grammar fellow for my incorrect use of which to/two/too's to use)
  20. Consult Avons web site and e-mail them and ask. I have read some articles that say not to. But they were also written a few years back, sooooo Maybe newres construction allows it with certain tires. As a general statement "its not recommended" The design and construction of the two tires is different and act differently. Cost is a contributing factor to as if I remember right the radials are about 10-15% more and you don't gain any wear from them.
  21. Cool beans. Glad you found the problem. I really like my "replacement" marker lights. I also wired in a resistor/diode set up so I can run them as running lights and turn signals.
  22. Took me a couple looks to figure out what they do. But I'm guessing move floorboards forward?
  23. Yes some progress. I thought I had got in touch. Shoot me an e mail.
  24. Same lights I have replaced my side reflectors with it looks like. Small flat tip screwdriver. Lift the tab slightly and watch the clearance where it locks the assembly in. Just enough to get above the side of the yellow light is all you looking for. Once your there you should be able to get one side ot and the tab will stay slightly up. Then do the same on the other side.
  25. I would not think the wing vent things would work very well unless your moving. If I'm moving I dont notice it to much. If its hot its hot. I have heard of some removing the lowers on the fairing during hot months. That will allow more air between the faring and the leg fairings.
