Congrats Been 30+ years for me. I got Flu bug bad one year. Spent 3 days in bed, fourth finally felt good enough to get out of bed for a few hours. I was sitting in my favorite chair, picked up a smoke and said to myself "well its been 3 days wonder if I can got 4" That was it.

Well I was kind of thinking Fla.

Kind of depends which way you want to go Steve. WE dont have one but spent 2 days at the RV show last winter over in Tampa. Man what a wide variety of options. For me I'm pretty sure I would go with a toy hauler. But it would have to be something like 24' or longer, as one of the things we really like is a separate garage (place to store bike). Probably best floor plans and most space would be 5th wheel style, in toy hauler. To me one of the good points of a towable (5th wheel or regular travel trailer type) is when you get where your going you have something you can drive to places without leveling and releveling like a motorhome if you dont pull a car. For a first one I think I definitely would look previously owned. Someone else takes the initial hit on the loss. I searched craigslist there for awhile here in Fla and prices are very wide depending on what your looking for, and if its private sale or dealership. I kind of like the Outback and Raptor makes a dang nice unit.

Part of the reason I went with the Michelin was tread design. The dunlap to me does not have "cross over" grooves and I had a few issues with the rear in the wet. So currently this is what I have on the front, and this is the rear tire

Just a thought. You are going to be on the right side of the car.......closest to the wall. And someone else is driving. LOL

I like the ride of the 130/90 It just seemed to corner better or something. Cant put my finger on it for sure now. I had the MC 2 on there for over 17k and could have got a few K more out of them but had a trip planned. I went to Shinko last change due to economic budget at time. Not a bad tire for the money. The rear went like 6600, not bad for like $80 in my book. Now have a Shinko 777 on rear as they now make that in a "reinforced" tire for more load. When I did go to the Shinkos I als went back to OEM size tire up front. OH my, had to relearn how to ride this thing.

Ride in Florida during Snow Bird season??

Mine I have go "in line" with the OEM cable. Then when you want to talk you push a button. When your done and dont want to listen to wind noise or background noises you push the button.

Something like that can if its a seal or something "just go bad". but my weekly sort of check list is fluids (brake/clutch) tire pressures and tire condition (did I find a nail or something) and a once around. Brake fluid is cheap enough and with speed bleeders easy enough I have been changing the brake fluid & clutch every year I think.

I will try and see if maybe I am inadvertently pushing the button. But I think I was just riding not trying to adjst. But it was a couple weeks ago now. My new helmets came yesterday and the mounts should be here today i think. SO maybe get them mounted up and give it a try this weekend.

Check into sync carbs, might help. But the "gas" smell sounds like its running rich. AS mentioned check the oil level, it could be the carbs have leaked while parked and washed down thru cyl into crankcase.

AWESOME just friggin AWESOME. Its OK because it looks like we will be able to make "baby" Treude (sp) jokes soon.

Sorry couldnt resist.

I was using mine for "plug in MP3" and it kept telling me something like "can not connect to intercom". So I guess I need to read up and figure out what I'm doing wrong.

If needed my GPS has a compass mode. For the most part the sun comes up in the east and sets in the west in these parts. SO sun on right, I'm heading north, on my back west and I'm gonna run out of dry land soon.
-
Nope Still have them. Probably will hang on to them for a bit and be sure I like the Senas. So far I am happy, although need to tweak the mic setting on the wifes.

Sounds like the "clamp" is what he needs Bob. I just bought 2 of them off e-bay for 36 bucks, as we picked up 2 brand new Mag 9 for $100 ea. J&P had them on sale for biketober week when we dropped in Sunday. The smh5 didnt get very good reviews from what I read up on. Had something to do with the way it mounted in the clamp on helmet. The 10 R I think it is I have read OK reviews. It is the sort of rectangle shaped one.

WOW We scored a good deal I think. Just recently bought a pair of Sena SMH-10, so ditched the wired comms. While installing the units I noticed our helmets are like 6+ years old. While they never have been dropped or anything articles indicate they have reached or will soon their "life" expectancy. Anyways we were on our way back from our trip North Carolina with a side return to Savannah and stopped in Sunday @ J&P cycles in Daytona. While taking our riding break we dropped into J&P mostly I figured the wife who is sometimes difficult to get a lid to fit rite might as well try on some from the store with the many varieties available. A nice young lady helped her out trying different ones. I had started at a display with Mag-9 all red. Wife is trying some on and I had shopped them prior to our trip, price range was $179 everywhere I had looked. E-bay or Jafrum, cycle gear any of them. J&P had a "show special" of $99.99 for just the read ones. LOL Got her fitted up and I figured what the heck I got one too. Nice thing was, I paid for them there, got fitted etc and being we were completely loaded and no room, they shipped them home for us. So for about the price of one we got too. Now got to shop for the clamp for the MAG-9

Lenny, I left Deals Gap heading north. I too waited for sort of a "gap" in bikes. But the 18 wheelers was coming from the other way. As they dont have any kind of way to tell folks on the bottom whats coming, Me and the big truck met, almost at a very very bad way. I'm surprised this jerk didn't hurt someone on his way down. they fellows that helped me said he was off both sides all the way down, and I was not the first he had run off the road, but the others were luck'er.

A pic or two later it shows the DOT reg numbers and company name. I though I would send them a nice note on how their driver was illeagaly driving on this road for no reason empty and almost caused a fatality. But cant find an e-mail address for the company.

YUP I think those are the roads I took down to SC and Ga this weekend. I know 64 out Sapphire was and then before lake Toxaway I cut down one thru forrest etc. Nice riding and no 18 wheelers trying to run your lane around corners, crazy sport bikes etc. Wider too. I'm done with the Dragon hype too. This Jack A$$ about killed me. http://killboy.photoreflect.com/store/Orderpage.aspx?pi=04RK02LH040001&po=7&pc=34 Once some nice folks helped me get back on the road, I turned around and called it a day.

We left Sapphire down Highlands was Fri Am about 8. Was high 40's but seemed cooler in the shade of them trees. Nice ride down to Savannah (well except in Oliver SC or Ga which ever thnx Officer). Coming home today was windy as all heck down to Fla.

Soooooo ever had a #%=÷%#! 18 wheeler on the dragon almost kill ya? I did!!!!!!! Tue I rode over from Highlands area. Wife was shopping with a friend so I went for a ride. FIRST freakin right hander Im set for the corner an as I look thru the corner here is a 53ft freakin 18 wheeler that aint even suposed to be on this road comming at me using his lane my lane and the shoulder. Well I dodged right and off the pavement I went with about a 8 inch or more drop down to grass. Luckly I got stopped, kept the pig upright and didnt take a header down the valley. Do you thi,k the azz stopped to see if he killed me? Nope. But my thanks the to good Lord for looking out after me, also to the good folks that helped me get the bike back up on the road and turned back down the road. Im done ever riding this road until the law puts these guys in nail or something.as many LEO's as patrol this road and they dont stop these big rigs. They got no reason to be on this road. Sorry for rant.
