Total Hip Replacement, how long b-4 U were back in the saddle?
DragonRider replied to a topic in Watering Hole
Steve, did you have the anterior or posterior procedure...........Charlene had the anterior done, which is done from the front and she was released with no restrictions after 6 weeks, she was okayed to ride by the doc, but she hasnt yet, she is doing great, and he said she can do anything she could do before, very little chance of it popping out. Today she has an MRI on her neck she might need surgery there also, and still the knee is waiting. -
I think its Eileen we need to pray for.....................all kidding aside, we will be praying for you Don......all will go well and a speedy recovery!

This happened when I was 18, you know how we felt then.....nothing can happen to us....RIGHT!!! I had just gotten my 1962 VW and called 3 friends picked upa a couple of 6 packs and went riding in City Park in New Orleans. We were just riding around the park, its about 8 PM nobody around, we are doing about 40 mph and I come to a bridge that crosses the lagoon where they rent paddle boats.....now this is not an ordinary bridge, its not level with the road, it arches upward so boats can go under it, well I hit it way to fast and we are airborne for about 20 feet beyond the bridge, land on all four wheels, and one of the guys is hanging out of the sunroof, dont know how he didnt get tossed out, but he didnt. That was the first time I had ever driven across that bridge, my buddy told me to slow down but it was too late...........might have been a record setting jump for a VW. And the car survived with no damage, those were tough little cars............

What can you buy for a $1.00? You might be able to buy a cup of coffee, a candy bar, a newspaper, a soft drink, but what is the greatest thing you can buy for a dollar and feel you haven't wasted your money? You can buy some children a chance of happiness that they so richly deserve, make a parent happy, and you yourself can feel good about doing something with $1.00 that will go a long way to acheive those goals............ With $1.00 donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital you can give them a chance of finding a cure for cancer. You can make them smile, give them the hope that someday they can lead a normal life like the rest of us. I know in these tough economic times we have made sacrifices to get by, but I don't think $1.00 is too hard for anybody to come up with. Don't have that cup of coffee, or that candy bar, instead make a donation to the kids at St. Jude. Now if you have already made a donation or won a St. Jude auction I am not appealing to you, you have stepped up, some more than once and I dont know why you need so many shirts, hats, and pins. With this donation you will receive the satisfaction that you are helping some very unfortunate kids. We want to make this another banner year for our St. Jude fundraising, so PLEASE, PLEASE donate just $1.00 to those kids. Then join us for the ride you will never forget to Memphis, Tn. to see what your $1.00 is doing. When making you donation please mark it as DONATION and no fees will be charged. Paypal addy for donation is............partin_guy@yahoo.com Thanks to all, Lewis & Charlene DragonRider & DragonLady

Not a big response to our poll for the ride to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, but I need to go ahead an confirm the date with them, so it looks like we will be going to St. Jude Childrens Hospital on Oct 2, 2010. We will meet at the Flying J Truck Stop in West Memphis just across the river from Memphis at 11:00 am central time. We will have lunch at the Flying J and then proceed over to the Hospital to take a tour and present our check. I will also be posting some more auctions soon to help build up our fund. We now have $1088.00. Look forward to seeing a bunch of you there.

pulled over for going through red light last night
DragonRider replied to saddlebum's topic in Watering Hole
When the light wont change, make sure you are over the sensor, you can tell where it is by the cuts in the road. Kill your engine, then restart it. The process of starting it sets up a magnetic feild that trips the sensor and off you go. I doubted it when I first heard it, but tried it at a light that would hold me up every morning on my way to work and it does work.
