Don, they said at one of there drives they netted...............over $18,000.00!!!!! Thats right..........not 1800.00 but $18,000.00. But can they do it again, and I dont know if that was with the GW assoc. or thier smaller North Ala. Riders Group. Of course they mentioned this after I accepted the challenge.................:bang head: -

Wes, I have tried that approach in the past, I got donations, but none for a $1.00, you are right, that would amount to a lot of money. I am willing to take them any way I can get them. -

Part II of St. Jude Ride

Here are pics form the St. Jude Ride 2010

While we were in the parking lot at St. Jude Hospital awaiting our tour guides, a gentleman who came with somone from Ala. approached me and issued a challenge. He was with the North Alabama Riders, which used to be a GWRR chapter. They have seperated themselves from GWRR and have formed a seperate group of wing riders. They wanted to know if we would accept the challenge that they could raise more money for St. Jude than Ventureriders. I didnt hesitate one moment and accepted it, because I know that we are up to the challenge, and second part of the challenge is that they would have not only more donations but more riders coming to St. Jude next year.............I have stepped out in faith on both parts and accepted it knowing full well that we are up to it........ So I am hoping some of the folks who will be hosting rallies, meet and eats and anything else they can do, will to step up to the plate and help us out. We have one year to fullfill this challenge and I am already tossing some ideas around for what I can do at Vogel. Know that this year with some help from many members we were able to raise almost $1900.00 and this was a year where we did not have a Tail of the Dragon @ Vogel to boost the tally, so next year I plan on at least doubling the amount that was raised by my effort. Right now Venturerider.org has rasied a grand total of $12,376.00 over 5 years. If you have any ideas for me or want to throw your hat in the ring, please let me know so I can start a list of who is doing what, I want to be able to document and keep a record of who is doing what. I am also hoping that those who organize something will be able to show up at St. Jude next year and deliver their donations in person instead of me or someone else being responsible for all the donations. :mo money:

Were you the guy who brought all the wing riders to Memphis? Thanks for doing so if it was you. I wasnt able to catch up to them after the tour and I wanted to talk to the guy who challenged us for next year. If you can send me his email address, I would sure appreciate it. Got to get a head start on those guys for next years effort, they sound like a pretty serious bunch of riders with their fundraising abilities....................:mo money:

We finally made it home from the 5th Annual St. Jude Meet & Eat & Tour. Had a grand time, met plenty of new faces and we have been challenged, I will tell more about that later. Its after midnite and need to get to bed so we can get up and make it to church on time.. To recap the ride we had 16 bikes, 1 cage, and a total of 26 bodies. Our final donation for 2010 was $1,876.00. Very good considering we didnt have Vogel to help with the totals......... Thanks again to everyone who donated, bid, contributed, and supported this effort, it was a great team effort by all.

So now you direct paperwork instead of traffic.................

Memphis, Ark. at 11:00 am, we will have lunch at the Flying J, and then proceedi over to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to tour this fantastic facility and present our donation for this year. If you have a Cruisn' for St. Jude t shirt be sure to wear it, I will have a few with me so if you need one I just might have one for you. The Flying J is located right in the middle of where I-55 & I-40 meet in W. Memphis, you cant miss it. Look forward to seeing everyone there, you will leave this event with a very good feeling............I PROMISE!!!

They just wont fit the Beemer............be a shame to waste em!!!!!!!!!! I would go with the Venture myself, I am no fan of BMW, along with the high cost of maintaining it...............Got plenty of friends who can help with the Venture if needed............plus the Venture is a lot more affordable............easy choice for me............... But you got to keep momma happy..............:bang head:

Charlene and I spent the weekend in Indy this past weekend at my cousins home, he was hosting a family reunion for both sides of his family, which includes myself and Ken Derret, aka 1-Up, who is his wife's cousin, small world isnt it, I found this out right after the Tail of the Dragon in 2006. Well he had his trike there and I asked Charlene if she wanted to try riding it and she was a little reluctant at first but she did and she enjoyed it, even though we only rode the length of his very long drive..........I have to say I didnt do too well the turning radius is what I am used to and got it stuck in the grass and we had to get some help to back it up so I could ride it back to the house. As for the stalking part, they had a friend who stopped by and he was riding an 07 RSV trike so I talked up the site to him, asked him if he had his whine fixed and he said no, so I clued him in to talking to his dealer about an I-basket swap, I also convinced all four of the trike riders to come down to Vogel for next years Tail of the Dragon.:Venture: So how was your weekend??
