Riders coming thru Atlanta on way to MD
DragonRider replied to Dragonslayer's topic in Watering Hole
I haven't Decided if I am going to MD or not, but if I do decide to go, it will be a last minute thing. Your schedule sounds good to me for getting there and back, but I will be camping like I did the last time. I will let you know as soon as I can, but will likely be a last minute thing. I too hope to have my 1st Gen up and running but if not I will be on the V Star again. -
Cairo is where my parents are from, I used to spend my summers there back in the 50's & 60's,, it wasnt nearly as bad then, but now its a ghost town, I still have a cousin in a rest home there. I used to have bunches of relatives living there but they all moved away as Cario was dying. Last time I was there it almost made me cry to see how bad things really are there. They used to have great BBQ there the one I liked best was MAC's, it was right across the street from my uncles house, the other was Shimwells BBQ. The owners of both were friend of my parents, and my dad worked at Mac's before he and my mom married. Mac's is gone now, dont know about Shimwells...............

I know it is still early, but by this time I normally have quite a few registrations for Vogel. As of right now I only have 6 registrations and the sales of the raffle tickets are very low. Raffle tickets are $10.00 ea. or 3 @ $25.00. So far we have a Dell D620 Laptop, 2 4 GB MP3/Video players, and I am hoping to add a GPS and a digital camera to that. You do not need to be at Vogel to win............... The poll is not showing very promising numbers either, so if you do plan on coming please go to the poll. Remember, all the money we raise by raffles, t-shirt, patch sales, and by any other means goes to St. Jude Children's Hospital. If you want to order a shirt or a patch just drop me a pm and I will add you to the list. The shirts should be somewhere between $18.00 to $20.00 and the patches are $5.00. If you register for Vogel each registration get a shirt and a patch. For more info and registration form go the the link below. :Venture:Tail of the Dragon V

Might be off the bike for a while...............
DragonRider replied to DragonRider's topic in Watering Hole
But it still hurts like heck.........I went to an orthopedist and they did xrays and my hip is in good shape, it is something I heard of but never knew anyone who suffered with it............Bursitis.........inflamation of the bursa which is located at the point of the hip.........I got a steroid injection, but it still hard to walk, and the injection may take up to a week to work its magic. He told me to stay at home for a couple of days and rest it...but I really dont notice any difference in the pain........But at least no surgery.........yet. If it isnt any better by Monday I may have to go back and see him. Thanks for all your prayers.....they are much appreciated!! -
Now that Charlene is on her way to recovery, its starting all over!!! For the past 2-3 weeks I have been having a pain in my right hip area, at first thought it was a pulled muscle, but its getting to the point that I am not able to sleep in my bed at all, no matter how I lay I am in terrible pain, last night I had to sleep in the recliner with my legs elevated to alleviate the pain. I am having a hard time walking, and numbness in my right leg, these are the same symptons Charlene had when her hip starting acting up on her, but mine was a sudden onset and I cant believe the amount of pain it is causing me. I have an appointment with the orthopedist Monday, I was lucky to get the appt so quick, I guess since Charlene is a regular patient there it helps. This timing of this is lousy......... So if you folks could say a few prayers for me, I would greatly appericate it.............

A little bird has informed me that the North Alabama Road Riders have had their first fund raiser for St. Jude and they feel they have this thing in the bag. The bird didn't tell me how much they raised but I know it was a multi-family yard sale, and I know those things can pull in some dough. We are doing ours by our St. Jude Auctions and money raised by other members and the main contribution comes from Vogel. So lets not let them beat us at our own game. They are a small group of around 35-40 members , and they are all concentrated together in Al. That makes it easy for them to do things together. So anything you members can do to help beat this ragtag little group of wing riders, bring it on.

New auctions for St. Jude T- Shirts.....
DragonRider replied to DragonRider's topic in Watering Hole
For those that win a t-shirt auction for St. Jude, here is what I will do. For the winners, if you have the winning bid and would like more than one shirt, all you need to do is pay the same bid amount for each additional shirt, that will save you from bidding on multiple auctions. The current auctions will be ending today 4-11-11, and I will be posting more auctions this weekend, I will also be adding a couple of Crusin' for St. Jude pins and a hat, that were left over from last year.- 5 replies
