Charlene and I are sending prayers up for your cousins family. This is becoming all to frequent. -
When I received a pm saying Annie and Quicksktep were coming to Vogel I was floored, they have traveled all over the US, and now they were going to be at Vogel. I couldnt wait for them to arrive. Vogel was again an international event, there have always been some Canucks at Vogel, but never anyone from so far away. I do believe that having them there made it very special for all the other attendee's. They fit right in with the crazy bunch of people that attend all the VR events. Thank you Annie and Alan for coming to Vogel, you made the event despite having your HD catch on fire!!! Have a safe trip back down under, and hope to see you guys again soon.

I think I would be out of there, look at what happened in New Orleans, some people didn't evacuate and look what happened to them. Hurricanes are not to be messed with, I lived in S. La. for 55 years and I rode out my fair share, but not one that made a direct hit. People need to realize, material things can be replaced, but your life and loved ones cant.............

Vogel is over and we still have some time to raise some more money for the kids at St. Jude. I will be posting some Vogel T-shirts and patches for those that would like to have them, and there will other items also. Since the classified section is out of order the only auction posted will be the sunglasses donated by Dingy. As soon as I find out where to post the others, they will go up.

Not me, Vogel every other year is tough, doing the International has got to be a really big, big headache...............:starz:

I need to thank some very dedicated members of this forum for their help in making Vogel V a great success. Many people stepped up and helped out big time when I needed it the most. I may have to edit this post later to add a few names, but that"s what happens when you get old and ............I forgot !! First and foremost, A very special thanks to my lovely wife, Charlene, for putting up with me when I start getting crazy just before the event starts. I couldn"t do it without her. Thanks to Jamie and Paula for helping with design of shirts and patches and all the help at the event. Thanks to Dana and Missy for stepping up and helping with.......well everything. Thanks to Taz for bringing Susan who helped on Sat morning with last minute sign ins and food set up ...Thank you Susan!! Thanks to Patsy Holloway for making a "Tail of the Dragon" quilt which was auctioned off for an extra $100.00 for the kids at St. Jude Hospital. Thanks to Brian aka Cowboy for taking all the newbies to the area on some fantastic rides. Thanks to Eck for taking folks out for a nice ride on Sat. and also for making sure there is a Vogel in 2013..........thanks Bud, I owe you....... Thanks to everyone who brought all the extra door prizes making it possible for a lot of people to take something home besides memories and new friends. Thanks to my crazy cousins and adopted ones for coming and making me look not so crazy!!!! Thanks to my volunteer ride captains for leading the alternate rides on Thursday. And even though he wasnt there, and he was dearly missed, a big thanks to Freebird for starting this big crazy family of VentureRiders!! And a very big thank you for everyone who showed up to make Vogel V a gigantic success, it just keeps getting better every time. We are looking forward to 2013, when once again I will have to strive harder to surpass this one. As a final note, I am sure everyone now knows that one of our members was injured in an accident on his way home from Vogel. I hope everyone will join in prayer for TuffTom for a swift and speedy recovery........... We love you all and can't wait til the next one!!! Lewis & Charlene

A few Vogel Pics.........................

That Bubba has a thing for Todd, I really think he is stalking him, he even found Todd up at our cabin where he was crashing on the couch..............it is amazing how he just happens to pop up and then disappear not to seen again till the next event....:bang head: -
When we arrived home and got everything unloaded, started going through all the mail and found an envelope from the company I used to make the t-shirts. They saw from our shirts that we were raising money for St. Jude and sent me a small donation. This is the second time I have used them and they are a class act. The shirts are always first class, and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs shirts done fast and at the right price. The company is CustomInk.com. Visit their link and check out the site. Its easy to design your own shirts, I did it anyone can. My hat is off to CustomInk.com.

We finally made it home at 3:45, should have been home sooner but, we had to do some vehicle swapping........Paula's Honda developed transmission problems. We had to stop and pull both our bikes off the trailer and put the Accord on the trailer. Jamie and I didnt get a chance to ride together at Vogel, but we did get to make the hot ride home together on the bikes. Its probalby was a good thing we took them off the trailer because when we backed Jamies off the trailer it went through a rotten board right where mine had been sitting. All in all it worked out pretty good, got the car home without a tow truck and we got to ride.
