I had a split in the leather covering on my saddlebag on my V Star 1300, that gave me a good excuse to go out and find some nice hardbags for it. I found them on E Bay, they are the same shape and almost the same size, but they wouldnt exactly fit the stock mounts so I had to use the supplied mounts. They even have lights already installed in them.

St Jude/Mean Dog Memorial Ride 2011..............
DragonRider replied to DragonRider's topic in Watering Hole
I spoke to the young lady who gave us our tour last year and just confirmed they are expecting us on Oct. 1. It looks like we will have a very good turn out for this ride. I estimate we will have between 35-40 bikes and up to 50 or more bodies, some are coming in vehicles from the NARR group and some from this group also, including me with a full load of people and shirts and bracelets.............So its getting close and I am very excited, we are going to be very, very close to the $10,000.00 donation(combination of both groups). Thanks to everyone who is supporting this effort with donations, attending and bidding...........:clap2: -
Wondering if anyone from the Atlanta area or the Birmingham area is going to Memphis on Oct 1, for the Ride to St. Jude. We will be leaving around 4:00 am from Newnan, and we could meet up at the McDonalds at exit 11 on I 20. We would be there at about 4:30-4:45. If anyon is going from Birmingham area we could meet at the Pilot truck stop on Hwy 78, just off of 20/59.

13 Days till Memphis.............................. -
That was an awesome video. I know how proud you guys are of Jason, heck I am proud to know the parents and the son who flies that awesome bird. I hope Jason will be able to make St. Jude this year. It was an honor meeting him and riding with him the last two times he made it. Air shows are one of my favorite events to attend, they are awesome, and it puts on display our service people and equipment so we can actually see them in action. I used to go to all of the air shows when we lived in NOLA close to Belle Chase Naval Air Station. I also went to one at Barksdale AFB when we lived in Shreveport, La. Looking forward to seeing you guys in Memphis.................

You will need to use a credit card to make the payment and it doesnt cost you anything. Where it ask you what payment is for make it a donation or gift, that way they dont take any fees out and the Kids at St. Jude get the whole amount. Thanks for your support. Lewis

A question came up on facebook about what % of funds raised was used for research, I remember being told 100% but I may have misunderstood. This clarifies that question. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital treats and researches catastrophic diseases in children, famously cancer. Research efforts have led to a tremendous change in childhood survival rates for some of these cancers. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), for instance, had a 4 percent survival rate in 1962 and today has a cure rate in children of 94 percent. Sick children are never asked to pay, even if insurance does not cover all costs. The hospital reports that daily operating costs are $1.4 million, most of which is funded through contributions. Out of the contributions, 84 percent of every dollar supports research and treatment. It was an honor to have met you and Alan at Vogel. It really made it special to have you and Alan there. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and riding with you, I wish I could say we will be paying you a visit down under, but that is highy unlikely...........Have a safe and enjoyable trip back home and remember your only a keystroke away from your VR family.

I would like to get a head count on how many people we have coming to St. Jude on Oct. 1. So if you are coming and bringing guest, which I know some are, please post how many you plan or might have. Jason, if you could get me a count on how many NARR riders will be there, that would be great, because we may have to have more than one guide for the tour.
