  1. Obey the laws of the road if you worry about being pulled over and enjoy the ride and the scenery.................
  2. I have those lights mounted on the back of my trunk on the chrome trim that goes around it. I broke a couple of the lens by backing into something, so Ihad to make my own, still like those lights, they add some illumination to the back of a not so well lit 1st gen. Nice find on all counts.
  3. Very nice looking bike Tom, looks like its been fully restored with the exception of the road rash on the crash bars.........You will miss all the comfort and extras of the 1st gen, but if you don't think you can hold it up, I fully concur. Try a 1st gen after you are healed and ready to ride, you might be surprised. Hope its not another Craigslist scam......... Good luck which ever way you go.
  4. I don't usually watch open wheel racing, but as I was flipping through the channels I saw it and was watching when they mentioned it was the last race of the season for the Championship. I saw the accident, and in watching it, saw a few telltale signs that didn't bode well for someone, at the time I didn't know it was Weldon's car that was covered by a yellow tarp along with various parts from it......It had all the signs of being fatal, but I was holding out hope and praying it wasn't fatal. I watched all the coverage till it went off the air, I thought it was fitting that they canceled the race and thought the way they honored Dan was very touching and emotional for all, including my wife and I.

  6. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes, these are pretty simple and easiy to recover from, heck I was riding my bike 3 weeks after I had my right hand done. The left will be a piece of cake, Charlene will have hers done about 4 weeks apart, the schedule looks like Charlene gets the right one done, then 2 weeks later I get the left done, then 2 weeks later she gets the left done. I will likely be out of work till after the 1st of the year.......no complaints there. Then on Feb. 12 we finally go on our cruise........:dancefool:
  7. Dan Weldon lost his life today at the final race of the season at Las Vegas on lap 13 in a 15 car accident.........he was 33 years young. Rest in Peace Dan.........our prayers go out to his family and friends and the IRL.
  8. Hide their cell phone or electronic gadget, that would work better, and if you want the whole house cleaned just take it with you, but if you hide it make sure you turn it off.........the ring would give it away...........:buttkick:
  9. Looks great not overdone, and I like the design...............would like to get something similar done on my 1st Gen.
  10. Mine does have a handle sorta..........its not chrome though so cant feed your addiction......... I dont think I have ever seen one of these in chrome.......of course there is always a first time.........Hmmm, that makes me wonder...........
  11. Think I will make you wait a little longer..........can you handle it........??? It will make it out in a few days.............maybe:witch_brew:
  12. I got something you want............:bang head:
  13. So sorry to hear this, Charlene and I will keep him and your family in our prayers.................
  14. Are you speaking from experience or have you been speaking to Charlene...................:rotfl:
  15. Why Bambi of course.................:rotfl::rotfl:
  16. Charlene and I will both be going under the knife in the next few weeks. I will be having carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand and Charlene will be having it on both hands a couple of weeks apart. I had my right hand done in 2005, and now the left is really giving me fits when I try to use it for anything. I will be out of work for 6-8 weeks, but at the perfect time, the holidays...........
  17. The saddlebags and the rear box look like they came of the RSV.............but I still dont like it...........bive me my 1st gen anytime................
  18. Loaded fine for me............pretty cool, I have seen dogs ride before but never like that............
  19. Go to wingstuff.com they have the best prices on the j & m which in my opinion is the best for the price.
  20. I am going to sit on the sidelines and watch from there..........besides, I cant add anything, dont know squat about Jobs or any of those geeks................except that he was filthy rich................:mo money:
  21. Yeah Dan, it really does, especially when you have kids or grandkids around the same age, it could be yours instead of someone else's kids. I know if I were in those parents shoes, I would hope others would step up to help.............Thats why I do it. I have 2 healthy grown children with kids of their own and it really makes me realize how fortunate we are to have healthy family. This youngster really touched me and everyone else who met him. I will be receiving a DVD from St. Jude that features Brayden for St. Jude. When I do I will post it or part of it here. You may see it on tv by the time I get it.
  22. I was on Facebook, checking in on Brayden Shields, he was the little boy who asked to have his picture taken with us while we were touring the hospital. I came across this poem written by his mother and thought maybe this might help some of you decide to help Brayden and other patients like him..........I was moved to tears by it...... ~ I WAS BORN A SOLDIER ~ I have been forced into a battle That I did not choose to fight, But the enemy will wage on So I will fight with all my might. My battle gear I traded For hospital gowns, needles, and IV's. No shortage of supplies, St.Jude has all I'll need. I will survive this battle, Starting now not tonight. Cancer didn't know who it messed with When it picked this fight. I was born to be a soldier. And a soldier I will be. Till the end of it all Or when I hear "You're Cancer Free". Now Cancer..., Don't come back later looking for me. I will not be here. If you even think about it , I will beat you!!! 23. Jason, the St. Jude event was the best yet, and I dont know how we can top it. But I am going to try, I am going to challenge evey member on this forum that hosts a meet and eat, a rally or whatever to join in and support this fantastic organization known as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The interaction we had with Brayden made it even more special for me and I am sure it did for others too. I will again have the St. Jude auctions, the shirts, hats and pins are arriving today and after a brief rest from everything I will start posting them.
  24. Burpy Hapday.........to ya............burpy Hapday to y......................niutpe. nfydo . Me toks a fe sots 4 ui............
  25. Not the kind of cruising I am used to, we are finally going on a Caribbean cruise, well not exactly the cruise I wanted, which was an Alaskan cruise, but a cruise to test the waters to see if we like it. We are booked on the Carnival Conquest for a 7 day cruise. Many thanks to Eck and the members that contributed to the cause (cruise) at Vogel. It didnt quite cover all of it, but it helped. Thanks again to all, and especially Eck. In doing so he also assured that there will be more Vogel's to come, I don't know what ever gave him the idea that there wouldn't be................. We will be leaving out of New Orleans Feb 12, and when we get back it will be Mardi Gras, we might even extend our vacation by a couple of days for that.
