  5. I am running shinko's on both bikes, since I haven't been riding the Venture much since installing them cant say much there, but on the V Star getting pretty good wear from the front and the rear, I have about 5500-6000 on those and am very pleased with the wear and performance. I had the 404's and they sucked for mileage, only got 7000 out of the original ones on the V Star.
  6. I have no idea. maybe Don can fix it. I will send him a pm.

  11. THINGS I LEARNED LIVING IN THE SOUTH A possum is a flat animal that sleeps in the middle of the road. There are 5,000 types of snakes and 4,998 of them live in the South. There are 10,000 types of spiders. All 10,000 of them live in the South, plus a couple no one's seen before. If it grows, it'll stick ya. If it crawls, it'll bite cha. Onced and Twiced are words. It is not a shopping cart, it is a buggy! Jawl-P? means, Did you all go to the bathroom? People actually grow, eat and like okra. Fixinto is one word. It means I'm going to do that. There is no such thing as lunch. There is only dinner and then there's supper. Iced tea is appropriate for all meals and you start drinking it when you're two. We do like a little tea with our sugar. It is referred to as the Wine of the South. Backwards and forwards means I know everything about you. The word jeet is actually a question meaning, 'Did you eat?' You don't have to wear a watch, because it doesn't matter what time it is, you work until you're done or it's too dark to see. You don't PUSH buttons, you MASH em. Ya'll is singular. All ya'll is plural. All the festivals across the state are named after a fruit, vegetable, grain, insect, or animal. You carry jumper cables in your car - for your OWN car. You only own five spices: salt, pepper, mustard, Tabasco and ketchup. The local papers cover national and international news on one page, but require 6 pages for local high school sports, the motor sports, and gossip. Everyone you meet is a Honey, Sugar, Miss(first name) or Mr.(first name) You think that the first day of deer season is a national holiday. You know what a hissy fit is.. Fried catfish is the other white meat. We don't need no dang Driver's Ed. If our mama says we can drive, we can drive!!! You understand these jokes and forward them to your Southern friends and those who just wish they were from the SOUTH.
  12. Good luck Froggy, they come in all shapes and sizes...........Some help you, and others you help, thats the kind I have.......... They have 2 lawnmower's 1 push, 1 riding, both had problems, daughter asks me to look at both of them. He says they can't be fixed, I go over, get the push more going, I won't embarrass my daughter with whats wrong, but simple fix. The other a little more wrong, steering is not working, she orders parts, hubby looses parts, gonna take it to the shop, daughter finds parts, fix steering, change battery, blades are hitting deck......hmm. I go home to remedy that, before I get back he gets home, sees that I am working on it, does something to the deck, dont know what, daughter says he made an adjustment in about 10 secs, that wouldn't make a difference, he said the deck was lopsided therefore they are hitting the deck. I tried the old blade that was on it when they bought it, still hitting, I put my modified blades on............presto, it works.............Daughter says please don't say anything, let him think he fixed it..........I swallow my pride and say ok. Not too hard to do, he is a computer whiz, that's what he does for a living, so he keeps me in parts and fixes no charge. Now I have to get mine all tuned up for the new cutting season.

  17. Well we have a new Atlana area member, some of you met him at the N. Ga. M&E. Gene rides a Kawasaki Concours. I told him he would be in for some good natured ribbing about not riding a Venture or Yamaha, but he did ride a V Star 650 before moving up to is nice looking Concours. I guess thats sorta like staying at the Holiday Inn Express.............:rotfl: By the way Gene and I work for the same company, so I will make sure he keeps up with you guys Welcome to the family Gene, you just joined the most addictive web site in the world!!!!!
  18. We are saddened beyond words, our children are not supposed to go before us.....Charlene and I will keep you and your loved ones in our prayers.

  20. The action for St Jude auctions has been slow, not a whole lot of competitive bidding going on, get in on the action, the kids at St. Jude would really appreciate it. And if your bidding and want more than the one shirt and pin in the auction, just let me know if you want more than the one and you can just match your winning bid for each one.........winning bid is $6.00, multiply your bid by how many you want, its that easy. No need to bid on several auctions. Thanks to all that help support the "Kids" at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Don't forget we will be meeting in Memphis in early Oct. to make our donation in person. I will be posting the actual date in the next week or so after I talk to the folks at St. Jude. This is a great chance to get out and meet some great folks from VR and St. Jude. The turnout last year was fantastic and hoping for the same again this year. You can click on this link here on when it appears at the top of the VR page, or just go to the Classified section, St. Jude Auctions.
  21. I guess that means you will be back to Vogel in 2013, hope all is settled by then. Look forward to seeing you guys again!!
