I just knew you would be the first to respond, and you didn't disappoint me. It wouldn't be the same without you and Leslie. So looks like we will have another one in to chalk up. This will be the 8th Vogel rally and no matter the size of the crowd its always a good time. I will follow up with more info on the park and other things as soon as I can get my committee together. STAY TUNED!!!!!

Just throwing this out there a little early to see if there is enough interest to do another Vogel this coming August. Normally happens on the 3rd weekend in August. Format will be the same as last year. No registration fee, donations for St. Jude will be taken, may have a raffle, will put out bucket for donations for the cookout we normally do on Sat. Hope to see the regulars there!

It's today culture, how many times have you said thank you and got no response at all, at least they respond to you, even though its not the polite response, you know they heard you. I will take a no problem or my pleasure over being ignored completely. When my kids were young and someone spoke to them, there response wasn't always the polite one, my cure to that was to correct them and make sure they always said please and thank you and yes sir and yes mam. It didn't take long for them to catch on. Now my son is doing the same thing with his young ones, ages 7 and 2, and they sometimes forget, all he has to say is, "WHAT DID YOU SAY?" and out come the magic words. Today if you weren't brought up that way, its the parents fault because they weren't taught manners by their parents, and when that doesnt happen you end up with ill mannered people. -
I still have a good number of St. Jude shirts and patches. I can post them up for auction or I can just take donations and hopefully get rid of them faster that way. If your interested in having one let me know your thoughts. I still have all sizes left except small. Med, Lg, Xlg, XXlg, & XXXlg. If we go the donation route all I ask is that you add $6.00 to your donation to cover shipping by USPS Priority Mail. If shipping to Canada slightly higher, I will have to get that from the post office. I would like to get rid of all of these so I can send our donation to St. Jude by no later than Dec. Right now we have almost $1000.00, smaller than past years but still a nice donation.

I could care less if they came out with a 3rd gen or not, I have 2 bikes now that get me from point a to b. The prices they want for them is way to rich for my blood, I will stick to what I have and be perfectly happy!!

Got back from La. yesterday at 5:30 pm, had a great ride down and back home until I got 13 miles from my exit and the skies opened up, I managed to stop and put on my Frog Togs just as the sprinkle hit me, good thing, because as soon as I took off the heavy stuff hit, had to drop down to about 35 with emergency flashers on like every body else was doing, was going to pull under an overpass or exit the interstate but all the 4 wheelers had taken shelter there first, so couldnt escape the rain. It stopped about 3 miles from my exit. The new tires really made a difference never felt uneasy even in the rain. All and all great ride, the 87 performed flawlessly as I hoped it would, like I said this was the first long trip, only thing is gas mileage, guess I need to sync the carbs as my mileage never got over 34 mpg, my 83 was getting over 40 most of the time. All and all I am extremely pleased with the 87.

St. Jude T shirts and upcoming rallies..............
DragonRider replied to DragonRider's topic in Watering Hole
Craig, there will be St. Jude shirts and patches at the IR!!! -
Charlene is down at our son's home babysitting the grandkids while my son and his wife are on a 11 day Alaska cruise. We both couldn't go for the entire time so I will be joining her for a few days this weekend, heading back home Mon. or Tues. This will be my longest solo ride so far, been from here to Memphis on the St. Jude ride going solo, but this is a little longer. Looking forward to some cycle therapy. New tires, brakes oil and filter change the 87 is ready to roll. Just hope the weather clears down there and stays clear for my ride.

That place has a much nicer pond, go for it!!!!:dancefool:

St. Jude T shirts and upcoming rallies..............
DragonRider replied to DragonRider's topic in Watering Hole
Just wish I had thought about it sooner................ -
I heave quite a few St. Jude t-shirts left and auctioning them off takes time, so I would like to try something different this time around. If you are planning a Venturerider event, a rally, a meet and greet, or M/D and would like to help the "Kids" at St. Jude, I would be more than happy to send you a few shirts in various sizes that you can raffle or auction off at your event, I will pay the shipping to you and after your event is over all you have to do is PayPal me the proceeds and it will go into the fund for this years or next years donation. No money out of your pocket and some great shirts and patches to auction off. Just post your info to this or pm me with the time frame and I will ship them out ASAP. I wish I would have thought of this in time for the WNY, but I didnt until Bongo posted about the results of his rally.

Bob, thanks to you:clap2: and all that attended:clap2: the WNY Rally, wished we could have made it, but traveling that long distance would have been hard on the wife, hopefully soon to be resolved. Thanks again for all your support. The "Kids" at St Jude thank you too.:thumbsup2:

They are now calling it a 1000 year flood event, and I tend to agree. I lived in S. La. for 51 years and never saw flooding like this until Katrina, of course by that time I was already living in Ga. for 5 years, but my heart is still in La. The waters have receded in some places but other towns south are starting to feel the affects of all that flood water, it all empties into one lake and that lake has no levies to protect the people living south of that lake. Laplace, La. where we used to live is very close to that lake so they are already seeing food shortages at the stores. Its going to take a long time to recover from all that water. Laplace had flooding earlier this year and here it comes again.

Well, nothing today but in the past 4 weeks, had the chassis checked over, and it needed to be tightened up, 2 weeks later had coil over shocks installed to replace the leaking air shocks, new air bags, replaced the power port and hazard signal switch replaced, and now waiting on 2 new Shinko 777 tires to be delivered to be installed on the 87. The front tire on the 87 which is practically new is being swapped over to the 93 trike. Next will be carb syncs on both bikes and oil changes.
