Never any surprises here anynore, Thanks for the support. It a good looking rack doesnt look low tech or inexpensive....:mo money:.....I think it would make a great addition to anyone's bike.
-
I got ambitious after I got home from work today, got the exhaust system back on the bike, and the radiator and cooling system back on, waiting on the throttle cables to arrive. starting to look like a motorcycle again.
-
Peggy, did you bid on one of these auctions, I thought I saw your name on one, but when I went back to look, some of the auctions disappeared............I thought I saw a pin and a shirt at $11.00, or was that from the previous auctions.........???

That was the only 1st gen there, and it was a beautiful example of such a great bike, that bike belonged to Buck Shot, and he is the original owner, I even tried to buy it from him not once but several times, but his wife would not let him sell it, there is a story there and a very good one, maybe he will share it with everyone some day, I wish he would have had the sidecar on it. His son was there riding his Harley and his parents were also there on their Harley Trike, it was the beautiful red on in my pics. The man has great taste in bikes, and takes pride in owning them so they are extremely nice bikes. Hopefully next year I will be on my Mk I 1st Gen.

I will have to remember that if we run into any problems on our way to St. Jude this year, but your so close why dont you join us for the ride and visit to St Jude?
-
Yes, I want to tag along, but work always gets in the way......it would be impossible to get off, we have inventory this Fri and nobody gets off that day once it has been scheduled, besides I dont have enough vacation time left to do the things I have planned, so personal time will be used at the end of the year for that. You guys ride safe and have a great time. I will be thinking about MD as I have my own little MD here working on the 1st Gen, its getting back together this weekend come hell or high water.........hopefully running too.

When I posted this last set of auctions, I put a reserve of $10.00 on them, that way if they didnt make reserve they would automatically relist, what I didnt know was when they relisted it did so for anywhere from 160 days down to 58 days, I will not let them run that long, all the auctions that are still open will be ending this Saturday, May 26. So you still have a little time to bid, this is the end of the shirts, pins and hats. I wont have any more for a while. I have a source that may have some leftover and I will see if I can get them, if I do I will post and so the auctions differently. Thanks for all your support of the kids at St. Jude. With the money you folks have bid and the very very nice check that the B2's presented me with at their M&E, we will have a very nice donation, nothing approaching last years, but a respectable one, which we will be presenting in person in late Sept. or early Oct. Thanks again to everyone who donated, bid, and supported St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.:clap2::clap2:

Its about time you parted with the bucks, you know we are worth it, it was way to quiet around here. Glad your back........What your paying isnt bad, I pay 59.00 a month through Charter, but thats just for home, with your hotspot you can take your connection with you.......I think your deal isnt so bad.

Charlene and I just got back home, great time with great people, thanks to all, especially our wonderful hosts and all the supporters that donated so much time and :mo money::mo money:which is going to make this years fundraiser a great success. Thanks MOM & DAD>.......................and many thanks to your wonderful family for all the great food and service!!! You guys ROCK!!!!

All I can say is WOW!!! B2mom & dad really know how to throw a meet and eat. The turnout was fantastic, the food was fantastic, the people were fantastic, meet lot of new VentureRiders, and some new Harley riders, all and all it makes me sorry that we have not made it before now. but we werent going to miss this one. This was Charlene's first event since the meet and eats we have had and Vogel and she really enjoyed herself. She was right at home with everyone and she feels its more like family than anything else, and she is right... one big family. It seems everytime I get together with VentureRiders someone or everyone does something to touch my heart and it happened again today, people opened up their wallets and gave unselfishly for the kids at St. Jude, Don and Pattie presented me with a check that more than doubled what I have been able to raise since the first of the year, and they did it in one day.........that has made up my mind that the ride in Oct will go off as planned to St. Jude. Thanks to each and everyone who came and gave their support for the kids. I also have taken just a few pics and share them with everyone. Pics will come a little later, having trouble downloading to my laptop.

There is only one thing I hate missing more than MD at Don's and that would be Vogel, of course if Charlene and I miss that, it aint happening........... MD is one fantastic event unfortunately I have only attended the one in 09, and I had planned on going to each one since, but something always gets in the way, mainly work and lack of vacation time..............of course there is always next year, seems to be one of my favorite sayings as of late..................Have a great time! But hey we finally made to to B2dad and B2Mom's M&E!!!!!!
-
B2dad is giving Don a a run for his money, there were so many bikes when we arrived at the restaurant last nite they had them parked in an adjacent parking lot. Got to the motel and I parked my cage right next to a first gen, sorta looked like Brown Sugar, so where are you Dan?
-
There are about 20 Ventures, RSTD and other assorted bikes outside our motel room, what to do, call the cops or the men in white jackets.....:bang head:........LOL
-
For the avons to make your bike handle properly, they need to be maxed out to the air pressure on the sidewall, I run 41-42 lbs front 48-50 rear......my 1st gen handled great, the rear lasted about 15,000 miles the front is still on the bike. You will see where others have found out the same thing, if you run less than 40 in the rear, it will wallow in the curves and wear out really fast.

Those that have won auctions for St. Jude items, I will be shipping them next week, we are leaving for B2Dad & B2Mom M&E as soon as I get off work, if you are attending I will have items with me and you can collect them there, if not they will go out next week. I will have a limited number available to those who want them at the M&E, I will let Don and Patti determine how to distribute them.

I was semi-retired for 18 years, then Katrina came, gas went up, and I had to go out and get a real job, that was 7 years ago, looking forward to retiring for good when I turn 65, that is in 2 years, 4 months, and 38 days, but who's counting............LOL:dancefool:

Thanks for the update Kreg, tell him we are all still pulling for him........and praying for him.

And Dan has had plenty of lessons, most of which were not self inflicted, but taught to him by others...............:crying: -
If no one has bid on it since you did, your bid is for .25, Now say I go and bid 10.00 on it, I have outbid your max bid of 5.00 and the bid would now be 5.25. Do you see how it works now. As for the parts I have now, they are items like master brake cyl and hose for 2nd gen, some brake and clutch res.covers, stock black, some audio connector cables for 2nd gens, not sure if they are for cb or radio. I can go make a list later and repost it to see if anyone needs or wants any of it. It is mostly 2nd Gen takeoffs.
-
I havent gotten that far in putting the bike back together yet, but I will go down to the shop and see if the top will fit where I have it installed, I am thinking it may need to be moved also.
-
No matter how much your first bid is,and if it is the first bid on the item, it is only going to show up as .25, you cannot increase your own bid, it will only increase as someone else bids on it. Thats called proxy bidding. I have asked Don if it could be changed to show actual bids, but it is not possible. (Quote..from..Trader ..... I want to commend you for your efforts! I know it should be an outright donation....but as many have said times are tight and there is only so much "donations" to go around. Plus I don't really like to advertise my donations so the pins, badges etc are not of interest to me. I have contributed to a few of the folks with situations here without posting about it. That's between me and my creator. Again, I know the pins etc are secondary to the donation...but perhaps if you auctioned off "stuff" that we could use. brake switches, upgraded rectifiers, air horns, safety chrome etc etc Put a minimum bid of what you have into it and the profit can be the donation. That would require more work on your part and I realize it would only work with cheaply aquired parts...but might get you more contributions.(quote) I have tried doing just that with some parts that were donated to me by Eck, some of them sold but I still have most of them here, as they are stock parts, that aren't in demand.

I am not trying to lay a guilt trip on anyone, just stating the obvious, the economy sucks and it affects us all. There will still be a donation, a little smaller that in previous years, but a donation none the less. I will try again, a little later, never know what time will bring. We all have to do what we need to do. I just pray that everything will turn around sooner than later. God Bless each and every one of you.
