I met LA at the first Vogel I hosted back in 05, he was a character and we hit it off really good, even though I did stand him up in Atlanta, where we were supposed to meet and go to a M/C show. He has been a guest here quite a few times, on occasion he has show up out of the blue, and we had great visits when he came. I am so sorry to hear he is doing poorly, he always had a smile on his face and a great story to tell. Last time I saw him was last year at Vogel in his little white sports car, he seemed pretty good then, but not well enough to ride his bike, Charlene and I will keep LA in our prayers we love the big guy and hope things get better for him. Hang in there Lowell, you got a big family here praying and pulling for you.

One of my favorite places to visit, been there 4-5 times, every time we go out west to Co. we take someone who hasnt seen it and take them there. It always amazes me how those people lived in the dwellings in the cliffs and farmed up top on the Mesa. Wish we lived closer. Did you make it to the Dunes National Momument/Park, sand dunes and desert in the middle of the mountians......another fantastic place. Great pictures, looks like you hit some great spots............

Alright looks like the meet and eat will be Sat. July 7, 2012. We will be meeting at 9:00 am at the Pilot Truck Stop at Exit 41 off of I-85. Coming from the north take a left turn under the interstate and the Pilot is on the right, coming from the south take a right and the Pilot is on the right. If anyone wants there is a Subway and a Wendy's there if they want to eat breakfast before we leave, expect KSU at 9:45 am. We will take some back roads down to Warm Springs where they have a shop, Extreme Motorsports that opens at 11:00 am, also have a M/C musem, there is an admission to get in. We will spend about an hour there and then head into FDR State Park and ride over Pine Mtn, mild twisties nothing like the Dragon but a nice ride with some very nice scenic overlooks. We will make a couple of stops in the overlooks, bring your cameras for some nice pics. From there we will leave the park and head down to the small town of Pine Mtn. and eat at a great little BBQ stand called Three Little Pigs, great food, but they dont take credit or debit so make sure you bring cash or you may go hungry.............!!! After that some more back roads back towards Newnan. Hope to see lots of new and old friends there.

I had the same thing happen on my 83, I used a 2 part expoxy to fix mine, and it held for a couple of years until I found one on ebay........... -
I stand corrected by the man............

You definitely need the jumper on the din plug that goes into the tape deck, I will take a picture of what mine looks like and post it this afternoon..............

I have that same photo, but instead of the bike, it full of VR members from Tail of the Dragon in 2007 I believe, Freebird has one just like mine, they were presented to us at Vogel by the members who attended, and they all signed it, It hangs in a place of honor here, its something I will cherish for the rest of my life...........Thanks again guys and gals!!!!! Yours is still a great pic that will remind you of a fantastic ride, have done it several times and look forward to doing it again!!!!

Charlene got me one already, a nice mesh armored jacket, since the zipper on my old denim armored jacket broke, and a 3 GB external HD for storing all my pics and vids and will make things much easier if we ever have to escape the house in a hurry, and save all our family pics and videos, that means I have to start scanning all the old pictures we have in print form. But heh, in a couple of years or sooner I will have plenty of time on my hand to do that since retirement is just around the corner...................YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
