Yes Larry, Jamie's wife had the 650 that looked a lot like the V-Rod. She laid it down on the ride to the Cherahola Skyway, it was a decent bike for the money and was pretty peppey ride.

Vogel, vogel, vogel........................
DragonRider replied to DragonRider's topic in Watering Hole
Annie you and Al will be missed, we had to move the date back to a later week this time because the solar eclipse that happens the week before had everything booked solid, and I mean everything. -
Information for Vogel VIII is now posted in its proper forum: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?129162-Tail-of-the-Dragon-Vogel-VIII&p=1005265#post1005265

Many thanks to Sappermedic and Rick Haywood for helping support the "Kids" at St. Jude. I have received a notice from paypal that funds are deposited.
-
I started the St. Jude auctions several years ago, I was placing items there to fund the donations. I have a special account set up at Pay Pal where I hold all the money for my auctions and others that donate to the auction site. If you want you can send it to that account and it will go in will all the monies I collect for St. Jude from various sources, Vogel, donations, and such. If you want it to add to our total that would be the best way to do it. I usually send all the monies or deliver the monies to St. Jude in Oct. Or if you want you can mail directly to St. Jude if you wish. If you want to go the route I use, you can send monies to PayPal at this addy. partin_guy@yahoo.com. Whichever way you choose thanks for supporting the "Kids" at St. Jude. There is an underscore between partin_guy

Attention....new date for vogel..............
DragonRider replied to DragonRider's topic in Watering Hole
I knew something big was happening............ -
Had to change the date for Vogel..the new date is Aug. 23-27, 2017. The park did not have any cabins available for the previous week. If you have a reservation for the old date, you will need to call and change. There are plenty of cabins available for that time frame.

Rick, if you dont have all the notches lined up right, it wont work, had the same problem on mine. there are a special set of notches on the friction disc that all have to line up right for it too work. Copied this from freebirds writeup. To reassemble start with one of the 6 friction plates that have the two round notches, alien the two notches with the two marks on the clutch housing, now place a metal plate on the clutch boss, repeat this until you have replaced the 6 plates then take the last plate with the large square notch and alien it with the two marks on the clutch housing . When you put the pressure plate on, alien the mark on the clutch boss with the hole or mark on the pressure plate then place the 6 springs or the diaphragm spring and retainer and tighten the 6 bolts evenly. replace the clutch cover and torque the 5 mm bolts to 8.7 ft-lb. most of the information in this article can be found in a Yamaha service manual that can be purchase through M.T.A. Remember to replace the hydraulic fluid with dot 3 once a year or if turns dark. Rick

Cabins are all reserved for the purposed date of Aug 16. Our only option is for the following week, lots of cabins left. Aug 23-Aug 27 is our best bet.
-
The new date would be the Aug 23-27, but dont make reservations yet, waiting on more input before I make it offical.
-
Week earlier is out too, not many cabins left, so looks like it would have to be moved to the 4th weekend of August..
-
Looks like all the cabins at vogel are booked up already, they are showing none available for the 16-20 of August. How would everyone feel about it being a week earlier or a week later.

Vogel has been added to the VR calendar, so those of you that plan on attending can RSVP there. I will be adding a few "new" details in the near future. There will be a new reqirement to attend Vogel VIII, stay tuned!!!

Weather here is gorgeous here after last weeks blizzard scare, so I decided to take both bikes out for a spin. Try to start the 87 which has the newest AGM battery in it and nothing, no click, no buzz. Deader than a doornail. Ok, lets try the trike, has an older agm, same thing. Ok time to hook up the charger/booster and try to start it, nothing, both bikes, so I jump start them with no problem, take them both out for about 100 miles combined mileage, that usually does the trick, but neither would start when I got back, but they did have enuff juice to light up all the gauges. Did some research on the web and found out if the AGM's go totally dead, an analog charger reads them as done, kaput, they wont charge, so went back to the garage and bikes are still holing a small charge, enuff to be read by the charger and now the 87 starts after a 15 minute fast charge and the trike is on the charger for the same amount of time. Once they both start I will put them on a 2 amp trickle charge and complete the charging and should be good to go. Another lesson learned from the web!!!!
