Brad, that drive is still active on the St. Jude Mean Dog Tribute Page. http://stj.convio.net/site/TR/Events/Tribute?pg=fund&fr_id=1341&pxfid=16870 I dont recall there being a plaque involved, but the goal of $10,000.00 still stands, folks can still donate directly to that on the page. I guess a lot of the new members here dont know about the page or what Mark Stills aka Mean Dog meant to us. He was a very special member to many of us here, especially to those who knew him and his love for St. Jude. Thanks for reminding us Brad............

Charlene and I just arrived home from a great visit to St. Jude. We didnt have a really big turnout, I think the weather hurt our attendance. We had as many NARR members as we did Ventureriders. We had 6 bikes and 4 vehicles. Our donation was a total of $4,220.00. Again each group had almost equal donations. Many thanks to the members of the North Alabama Road Riders for joining with us in our fundraising for the kids at St. Jude. As an added note we were shown a new video produced and filmed at St. Jude, its very moving and really shows the family spirit at St. Jude. K Bran has it posted in the watering hole. http://www.venturerider.org/modules/Jig/index.php

Capping the Yics?
DragonRider replied to alvald83's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Auto Zone carries a nice little kit with an assortment of them in it................... -
Larry is one of the good guys, always willing to give a hand. Charlene and I are sending prayers up for a quick recovery.........Glad it wasnt worse. 2nd time this bike has been wrecked, once at Vogel, thenLarry triked it, and now this. It was an absolutely gorgeous bike. Hang in there Larry, everyone is pulling for you.

We were enjoying the ride too much to take time to take pics......................
-
Charlene had her first ride on our trike, she thoroughly enjoyed it, said she was comfortable on it, and felt more at ease knowing I wouldnt have to support the bike with both of us on it. I think she will be riding a lot more with me now that there are three wheels under us. We did about a 20 mile loop around town, some country roads and just had a nice slow ride. This weekend I will be bleeding and flushing the clutch, noticed a couple of difficult down shifts and had some difficult finding neutral a couple of times. I opened the resevior for the clutch and the fluid was murky brown...........gotta take care of that. All and all she is very happy about the trike and that makes me extremely happy:dancefool:!

New to Trike...questions.........
DragonRider replied to DragonRider's topic in Trike & Sidecar Talk
No make up in there yet.........but I imagine there will soon be. I have already found 1 thing I dont care for on this trike, the foot position is different than my 83 and since these are not adjustable like the ones on my 83, I am stuck with it............guess I will have to use the highway pegs. Second is the driver backrest, when Charlene rides with me it will have to come off, but that the same on the 83, unless I can relocate the box a couple of inches. I am still finding things on the bike, I found an extra key wired to the frame when I removed one of the side covers........side covers have broken tabs, thats an easy fix. The air bags are hooked up to the Class system, thats good. Like you said, got to find the sweet spot between the tires, air shocks and the air bags...........But its all good, I am getting plenty of compliments on it and even had an offer to buy it by one of my coworkers, when I am ready to sell it. He is a new Harley rider.............but originally wanted a trike, just too much money, so he bought a new Ultra Glide instead.........go figure. So how are you liking your new maxxed out trike.........I love the pinstripes that Jaybird did. I might add some one day. -
I just got my trike, never rode one for any extended distance, I find the ride a little harsh, so I have a couple of questions. First a little info about my trike, It is a 93 Venture Royale, with a Motor Trike kit installed by the factory in 99. One of the previous owners added air bags that are hooked up to the class system. It also has progressive air shocks. How much air should I run in them and what air pressures do you reccomend in the tires. Mine are radials, and right now they have 20 lbs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We are now under 2 weeks till our meet and eat in W. Memphis, Ark. From there we ride over in mass to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tn. to make our donation and tour both the Hospital and the Ronald Mc Donald house. Dont miss out on this great experience. All we ask is a small donation to help St. Jude in their research. I will have plenty of Cruisin' for St. Jude t-shirts for those attending and donating. We are meeting at the Flying J/Pilot Truck Stop that is located at the junction of I-40 & I-55 in West Memphis. We will be having lunch there before we go to the hospital. Looking forward to a good turnout for this special event. :Venture:

My grandsons got to see my new toy today and they are all over it...........I may have a problem in a few yhears............like who goes and who stays................

Mine is a rocket ship, I went beyond repairing it and swapped out the entire tranny from an 86 MKII that was donated to me. It is a lot of work, but with the tech section write up in the 1st Gen tech section, it was fairly easy, my cost was just for replacing the gaskets. It helps if you have a friend or two to help with the removal and re-installation. I love my 1st gen, thats why I stuck with one when I bought my trike Now there are two 1st Gens in my garage, a MK I and a MK II. .

I would say very well spent...........I have found a few things but all in all, still in great condition for a 20 yr old bike. It is cleaning up very good.

Pulled all the lower plastic off and found a couple of homemade brackets that I replaced with brackets of my 83, that weren't used. I changed the plugs because it was only running on 2 cylinders after I added seafoam, so pulled them and found two fouled so bad they wouldnt fire. Now with new plugs she purrs like a kitten. I also pulled the air cleaner off and checked that the slides were all moving with throttle advance, everything good there, so dont have to do the carbs. Tomorrow I will flush the clutch, and remove all the clearcoat off of the side cases and make them look a little better. Monday I will get it registered and insured. I found out that someone has already delinked the brakes so thats something I wont have to worry about. It already has progressive spring up front, it also has the original air shock along with 2 additional airshock and 2 airbags........so its well sprung.
