Are all MK II front calipers the same from 86-93? I finally got my front brakes hooked up to work together, but It still gives me the same amount of braking, virtually none, I am thinking the right one is bad, when I pump them up to bleed them I get good flow from the left when I bleed it, but when I bleed the right one after pumping them up again, just dribbles from the bleeder. If I let it sit for a while the brake lever has no pressure at all, have to pump them up to get any feel but the lever still goes to the handlebar. I am thinking the right caliper is leaking down, but I cant find any leaks anywhere. I have someone offering calipers from an 86 or 87 but I want to make sure they are the same before I get them. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Just thought I would bring this back up, I have received a couple of donations, I know its the season where other things get in the way and the economy isnt the greatest, but all we ask is a small donation from everyone...........$1.00 from every registered member will add up to a nice donation and a brick on the path to a cure for the kids.

I received this from good buddy Ken Derrett aka 1-Up. Hope my family appreciates me now. LOL Dear Family, I’m not dead yet. Thanksgiving is still important to me. If being in my Last Will and Testament is important to you, then you might consider being with me for my favorite holiday. Dinner is at 2:00. Not 2:15. Not 2:05. Two. Arrive late and you get what’s leftover. Last year, that moron Marshall fried a turkey in one of those contraptions and practically burned the deck off the house. This year, the only peanut oil used to make the meal will be from the secret scoop of peanut butter I add to the carrot soup. Jonathan, your last new wife was an idiot. You don’t arrive at someone’s house on Thanksgiving needing to use the oven and the stove. Honest to God I thought you might have learned after two wives – date them longer and save us all the agony of another divorce. Now, the house rules are slightly different this year because I have decided that 47% of you don’t know how to take care of nice things. Paper plates and red Solo cups might be bad for the environment, but I’ll be gone soon and that will be your problem to deal with. House Rules: The University of Texas no longer plays Texas A&M. The television stays off during the meal. The” no cans for kids” rule still exists. We are using 2 liter bottles because your children still open a third can before finishing the first two. Parents can fill a child’s cup when it is empty. All of the cups have names on them and I’ll be paying close attention to refills. Cloe, last year we were at Trudy’s house and I looked the other way when your Jell-O salad showed up. This year, if Jell-O salad comes in the front door it will go right back out the back door with the garbage. Save yourself some time honey. You’ve never been a good cook and you shouldn’t bring something that wiggles more than you. Buy something from the HEB bakery. Grandmothers give grandchildren cookies and candy. That is a fact of life. Your children can eat healthy at your home. At my home, they can eat whatever they like as long as they finish it. I cook with bacon and bacon grease. That’s nothing new. Your being a vegetarian doesn’t change the fact that stuffing without bacon is like egg salad without eggs. Even the green bean casserole has a little bacon grease in it. That’s why it tastes so good. Not eating bacon is just not natural. And as far as being healthy… look at me. I’ve outlived almost everyone I know. Salad at Thanksgiving is a waste of space. I do not like cell phones. Leave them in the car. I do not like video cameras. There will be 32 people here. I am sure you can capture lots of memories without the camera pointed at me. Being a mother means you have to actually pay attention to the kids. I have nice things and I don’t put them away just because company is coming over. Mary, watch your kids and I’ll watch my things. Rhonda, a cat that requires a shot twice a day is a cat that has lived too many lives. I think staying home to care for the cat is your way of letting me know that I have lived too many lives too. I can live with that. Can you? Words mean things. I say what I mean. Let me repeat: You don’t need to bring anything means you don’t need to bring anything. And if I did tell you to bring something, bring it in the quantity I said. Really. This doesn’t have to be difficult. Dominos and cards are better than anything that requires a battery or an on/off switch. That was true when you were kids and it’s true now that you have kids. Showing up for Thanksgiving guarantees presents at Christmas. Not showing up guarantees a card that may or may not be signed. The election is over so I’ll watch what I say and you will do the same. If we all stick to that, we’ll have a good time. If not, I’ll still have a good time but it will be at your expense. In memory of your Grandfather, the back fridge will be filled with beer. Drink until it is gone. I prefer wine anyway. But one from each family needs to be the designated driver. I mean it

Another way we can help St. Jude is by using the search engine at http://www.goodsearch.com. Every time you use it, it will donate to your charity of choice, of course everyone knows what my choice is. Check it out.

I am thankful for many things, far too many to list here, but I will list a few. I am thankful for my Lord and Savior. I am thankful for my family. I am thankful for my friends. I am thankful for my health. I am thankful for my second family here at VR. I am thankful for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I am thankful for our soldiers who fight for our freedom. I am thankful for our country that allows us freedoms others don't have. In closing Charlene and I wish each and everyone a festive Thanksgiving.

The Marriott and the Sheraton are both on Canal St. at the edge of the French Quarter, you really dont want to stay in the French Quarter, it stinks like piss and stale beer, and noisy as all get out.

I will as soon as I can scrape up some spare cash, selling the 1300 would really help out in that.

I am looking for some passenger arm rest for the 93 trike. Charlene says she doesnt need them, but I think she would be much more comfortable with them. Does anyone still make them or maybe someone here has set they no longer need. I am just about finished making the changes to the trike since I bought it. Yesterday I replaced the old glass tube fuse block with one from radio shack and using Skydoc's instructions it was easy, the only difference between his and radio shacks is 5 fuses vs 6 on Skydocs. I also did the battery fluid level light bypass. The only thing left to address is the front brakes. They have been delinked when triked, but only one disk up front is working. The Vmax mod is next for the brakes. Later when I have the funds I will be doing the front brake mods to make them more reliable and better.

I am having the same problem, I have listed it on E Bay, Craigs list, and here and I have had exactly 2 inquiries about the bike. Its an 07 V Star 1300 Tour. I have it listed for $5800.00, and I would consider a reasonable offer. Its got plenty of extras, plus all the stock removals, with the exception of the saddlebags, there were bad, so got rid of them on E bay. I am not in a hurry to sell so I aint giving it away. Its still listed here and on CL, so it will find a good home sooner or later.

The power of suggestion is really..........Powerful. I run a CNC milling machine at work, and anytime my supervisor tells me something like, "Be very careful, we dont have any of that metal left to replace it", well guess what, 99% of the time that he says that, you guessed it something happens, either I load it wrong or run the wrong program and screw it up......., I finally had to tell him, Please dont say anything about screwing it up, because I probably will!

It happened last nite just before going to bed, Charlene had made a nice big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup, and wanted me to put it downstairs in the fridge. So I am heading downstairs holding on to the pot with both hands, a thought runs through my mind that this would make a really big mess if I was to drop it or fall while going down, I make it to the landing after navigating the first set of steps ok, make the turn to the second set of steps, everthing is okay until I hit the second step from the top and my heal hits the edge of the step, slips off and next thing I know I am bouncing my but off of the next four steps till I hit the closed door at the bottom of the stairway. I still have the pot of soup in one hand, the lid is on the floor, there is soup about 4 feet up the wall, soup all over me, and 95% of it on the floor by the door. Charlene was in bed until she heard me bouncing my butt off the steps. I guess its sorta like when riding a mc, you go where you look, in this case is you do what you think might happen. I now am having a hard time getting comfortable sitting and laying down, every time I moved last night I woke up in agony, and its hard to get comfortable while sitting. Thank goodness I have meds that will help with that. I guess I am lucky I didnt break anything besides my pride when I fell, I aint getting any younger.

Coming home from running an errand, came upon an accident where a motorcycle rearended a car, both riders down. The couple on the bike where older husband and wife. We practically had to hold him down, he was bleeding from some cuts on his head and was complaining of pain in his groin. His wife was laying motionless on the roadway, but she was conscious and talking but not moving. It only took about 4 minutes for police and ambulances to show. They got them loaded on the ambulances pretty quickly after putting neck braces on them and getting them on backboards. He kept telling his wife he was sorry, for some reason he didnt see the car slowing to make a turn. The Harley looked to be totaled. Please pray for them, I dont know their names but I think they were associated with one of our local churches. Left me pretty shaken after it was all over. It can happen to any of us. Please be careful out there.
