We are in S. La. visiting our son and his family, and he had a crawfish boil for friends and family. While the mothers were sitting down on the carport eating crawfish the kids were on the swing and started singing this little ditty. 3 of them are my grandkids and another is a friend of my sons family. Replacment fuse block
DragonRider replied to etohio's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
They are not fuseable links, they are just wires to connect to two 4 terminal blocks mounted to the top of the air cleaner. Computer relocated for ease of access. SKydocs is a little pricey but he supplies everything except the fuses and stands behind it 100%, I went to the auto store and bought everything I needed to do the same job, and the time I spent fixing everything up the way Skydoc has already done for you, to me, its worth the extra price. -

DragonRider replied to etohio's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Our very own SkyDoc sells that identical kit here on the site, and with the instructions its a snap to install, thats where I got mine. It comes with everything except the fuses. Wires, connectors, mounting screws, blocks, and connecting wires. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3762&title=first-genfuse-box-upgrade-kit-21&cat=22 -

Made it to the gun range today and gave the Hi Point C9 a workout. I did not have any doubts going in that I had made a mistake by buying this gun. I read a lot of reviews on the net about it and most of the reviews were pretty good, but a few had bad comments about the gun being heavy, ugly, and unreliable. I like the looks of the gun, it doesn't have to be pretty to work good, it just has to be reliable. I started out firing fmj 115 gr. ball ammo. It functioned very well in single action and rapid fire, not one hang up or jam. Next I ran a clip of some left over ammo that I have had for 20 years, yeah that's right, bought it back in 1993 when I purchased my other 9mm, and I really never ran a full box through it. I don't know what weight they were but they were jhp, and they functioned perfectly on single fire and rapid fire. The gun was a little off, shooting a little low to the left, but I compensated for that and was able to hit center mass shots most of the time, especially in slow fire, on rapid fire I was not getting a very good grouping. On recoil there wasn't much, the 2 380's I brought with me had much more recoil than the Hi Point. Having that heavy slide on the Hi Point really helped with that. All in all, I was really surprised how well it fired out of the box. If you want a nice 380, 9mm, 40 cal. or 45 , I wouldn't hesitate in getting one of these. The guns are all the same size with just the barrel being the only difference. I plan on going back and getting one in either 40 or 45 cal. I found the best place to look at the guns and compare them is at http://www.impactguns.com That is were I bought mine and the price there was as good as it gets. The shipping is a little high at $17.00, but you don't have much choice since nobody has any in stock. I have one Gun/Pawn shop here in Newnan that has all 4 of them in stock at the same price as Impact Guns.

It arrived a couple of weeks ago, haven't had time to go out and fire it yet with my knee surgery and all, but my first impression is, I like this gun, it is big and a little heavy, but that will help hold the recoil down. That is one thing I did not like about my 38 Super, it recoiled liked you wouldn't believe. I got a a holster made out of ballistic material, that can go on my belt by clip or through slots in the back. It can go inside or outside, but I think its a little big to go inside. I will be buying the extended clip for it, it came with an 8 but they make one that will hold 10 so I will pick up a couple of those. Today I plan on going to the range and firing it and my 380's, they haven't been fired in quite a while. I have some jhp left over from my other 9 so I will try them first and see how they feed, I would like to be able to use them full time in it, but if they don't feed properly I will use fmj, that's what I bought with the gun. Stay tuned for a followup review after my visit to the range.

Anybody want St. Jude T-Shirt Auction.....
DragonRider replied to DragonRider's topic in Watering Hole
Will be posting some up this weekend, just wanted to make sure there was some interest out there. -
Still have quite a few shirts left and a few pins and I think 3-4 hats left, is anybody ready for auctions to benefit the Kids at St. Jude. These will be 1 peice auctions, if you want more than one just let me know when you pay, just multiply your winning bid by how many items you want and pay just one shipping price. Remember its all about the "Kids" at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. :mo money:

To me the Voyager kits are ugly and you have to be careful with where you go, you could end up getting stuck with your drive wheel off the ground. Why not go with trike, a real three wheeler, you wont be sorry, I cant wait to get back on my trike a true three wheeler. In fact I am so satisfied with mine I am getting rid of the 83, which I am selling to Jamie, and trying to sell the V Star also.

Well its been 5 days since I had my right knee scoped, and plan on going to watch my grandson play ball. I have been up and around on it but I havent been downstairs yet, and since I am going downstairs I will see how hard it is to get on the trike, If I can get on it okay I will just have to ask the doc if I can start riding it when I see him on Tuesday. Have had some great riding weather and even the wife has mentioned it sure would be nice to get on on the trike a couple of times. Its still a little stiff but I have pretty good range of motion in it, not back to 100% but pretty close. Still have 2 more weeks before I can return to work. I will definitely be riding before then.

Watching the show Cafe Racer this morning, the had a shot outside of the shop where they were building this awesome Yamaha SX650 and as they rolled it outside of the shop there sat a 1st Gen in all its glory. It was only a short shot of it and it looked to be an early model it was Maroon in color. I had to go back an look at it again to make sure I saw what I saw, I wonder if it belongs to one of our members. It looked to be in decent shape.
