1. Been wondering where I was going, now I now, an alias for Vogel............LOL
2. Wingman and I went on a 250 mile ride today in Ga, and Ala, and had a great time, rode some very serious twisties in Ala, which I did not realize were there, even though I have ridden that road before but with a much more sedate group of riders. It was a road leading up to Mt. Cheaha in Ala. It was great, put my knee and the trike to the test and both passed with flying colors, knee didnt bother me at all. Jamie's first serious ride on his new 83 Venture, which used to be mine. We both are very pleased with our rides, we did trade for a few miles and it felt strange being back on the black beast, and Jamie like the trike, or so he said. Looks like we are both ready for Vogel, bring it on!!!!
3. Like Yammer said, we will take whatever we get, you got to take care of yourself, I know Chemo really zaps your strength, dont overdue it.
4. Thanks for the Kudos, but it is you and everyone else who donates that makes it all possible, I am just a tool. Dragonslayer is ofter mistaken for me....................I am the better looking one.
5. Right now I have only.12 registrations for Vogel................ http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=77459
6. Some of you may recognize Brayden Sheilds from our visit to St. Jude a few years back, well he is featured on the cover of Promise, which is published by St. Jude Children's Hospital, there is also a story about Brayden inside.
7. I did the same thing with my grandsons on the youngest one's birthday, and they loved riding on the trike. It satisfied them for the time, but I know they will get the itch again.
8. Now that was a great time, I missed the second one, I will have plenty of tiime to make them very soon, and Ken, I will let you know if I hear anything about the next Ashville, I make one of those also and missed the others.
9. Some very humble thoughts.........................any more?
10. I guess this must be one of the best dressed pics of most of us...........LOL. I dont dress like this often, just funerals, and weddings................LOL
11. Yep Skid, I am right behind you, but your retiring a lot younger than I am, wish I could have retired at your young age..............but I am just glad to be retiring, but I won't get too excited till that last day I punch that time clock to leave that plant for the last time, I dont think I will shed any tears.................at least I hope not. But if I do, they will be tears of joy..................
12. The next Vogel will not occur till 2015, it is done every other year for 2 reasons, one so someone else can use that time slot for an event and secondly so the wife and I can do some other events, but who knows I will be retiring next year around the end of August, maybe there will be one, but dont count on it...........just mark your calendar for 2015.
13. 38 days until Vogel..........you still have time to get your registration in before the pre-registration deadline of Aug. 1, 2014. After that date you will need to register on site. Same fees apply. Early registration helps me plan thing out better. As of now the patches are in and the shirts are ordered. Food is pre ordered but I can add or subtract to that a couple of days before we need it. If you are new to Venturerider.org and havent made it to any of the local or regional events to meet some great folks, here is your chance to meet a lot of familiar names and unknown faces, and you will ride some of the best motorcycle roads around. The Cherahola Skyway, Tail of the Dragon, just to name a couple, and then there is the food. Shanes Rib Shack on Friday for our catered meal, Fatz in Blairsville on Wed. nite, The Dillard House on Sat. We will have raffles, door prizes, 50/50, and maybe an auction or two. But the main thing is we are raising money for the "Kids", at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tn. So what are you waiting for? For more info follow the link below. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php
14. Walter received your registration for your group. Thanks.
15. The triwing kit is a solid axle with drum brakes. Carbon1 would be able to tell you all about it. I do believe he installed one on his first trike. You have to provide the wheels and tires for this kit, thats why it is so reasonable, and then there is the paint.
16. If you were to wait till mid August, you could meet up with a large group of VR member at the Tail of the Dragon VI @ Vogel which is our semi annual rally to raise funds for the Kids at St. Jude Children's Hospital.. We have a great time and we ride the Cherohola Skyway, the Tail of the Dragon, and ride plenty of great roads in Tn, NC, and Ga. and eat good while doing it.
17. Really not your color, I know you are stuck on the blue........and WingerDan.............LOL. The 88 blue had the price reduced to $10,000.00 buy it now when I looked at it the other day. Now that bike had your name on it..........I know you say you arent ready for a trike, but I wasnt either, so keep one of the 1st Gens, and get rid of the rest, you could make a ton of money parting them out, maybe even enough to pay for your trike.
18. Ken aka 1 Up......received yours. Don & Patti... received yours. Skid....received yours. Thanks.
19. This is a question I have been asking myself lately. I thought why not put it up here and see what others think about. Its a pretty simple question but thought provoking. I am still pondering my answer. What do you want to be remembered for?
20. Good news on the feeling better, but on the other hand, now that your feeling better dont go out and ding up that new toy before we get a chance to see it at Vogel.
21. No need, you can let us know when you get to the registration, who knows you may loose a few pounds or add a few and need a different size................:stirthepot:
22. Anyone is welcome to show up for the ride. This entire rally is an event where we raise money for the kids at St. Jude. All proceeds after costs are covered go to St. Jude. If you come and register, you get a Vogel t-shirt, a patch and a catered meal on Friday. But if you just want to ride we will be leaving Vogel State Park at 8:00 am thursday morning for an all day ride on the Cherahola Skyway then on to Robbinsville up to the Tail of the Dragon, where we will lunch. If you just want to make a donation and ride that would be greatly appreciated. We will not turn down donations. QUOTE=alwrmcusn;770904]Can anyone simply show up and do the Thursday rides? If so how much $$ and where/time to meet??
