Whats up Skid, you are usually the first to comment about Vogel, so whats up with that. Here are a few shots of Skid enjoying himself at Vogel, he is one of a few members that has made every Vogel/Tail of the Dragon. Becoming a Gentleman Land owner, Good News/Bad News

Sounds just like something we need for some rallies, just make a bunch of keys and pass them out to selected members..........we will be glad to help you keep the place up and the deer population down!................... -
That is out of the question, just retired and we are now depending on SS for our income, cant afford to move. When we moved in this neighborhood 13 years ago it was very quiet, no problems, very quiet, there were a couple of not so good neighbors, but it was that they had no pride in their surroundings, didn't keep the place up and were just plain white trash. The first incidents started happening about 3 years ago with it first murder, the first home invasion started 3 doors down soon afterwards, and then it started escalating. Now the problems have gotten violent and has this neighborhood is on alert. I would love to do what Don and Patti are doing, but Charlene wont have any part of that, I have talked that up and she shoots it down. I guess the next step is do like Eck, start a neighborhood watch program. We also have our CCW and hope and pray we don't have to use them.

Came home 2 days ago from picking one of my grandsons up from school and as I got out of my car I heard a loud noise like a weed eater, it turned out to be a news helicopter hoovering almost directly over my house, earlier before I got home I saw a news van heading toward my subdivision, so I turned on the channel that the truck was from and soon found out what was going on. Now we have lived in this community for 13 years and its has it share of break ins and such, but now its getting too close to me. 4 weeks ago there was a home invasion just steps away from my house, man and a woman broke in and were looking for someone that wasn't there and left, now this. This street is directly behind my house and if I had been awake I just might have heard something. It was a double homicide of 2 young men. The wife and I are now thinking twice about staying here. Good news is by midnight the Coweta County Sheriff's Office had made arrest of 2 suspects an 18 yr old male and a 26 yr old female. http://www.times-herald.com/local/20141020-two-dead-corn-crib-homicide2014-10-20T15-31-56

Thanks Don, another great way to help the "Kids" , I just received a call from St. Jude yesterday to thank us for our great donation this year and she said it was enough to pay for 3 days of Chemo for 1 child. Treating this disease is very expensive and most cannot even come close to paying for it, yet St. Jude treats all its patients at no charge!

After reading your thread it brought to mind a young man I worked with, he was young enough to be my grandson, good kid, but had a heavy hand and foot in or on whatever he was riding. When he was on his rocket, a CBR1000, he was always riding the rear wheel, not matter where he was, interstate, local roads, 2 and multi-lane and would even change lanes while riding a wheelie. So one day after a friend of my daughter was killed in a m/c accident when his right of way was violated I pulled him aside and asked him if I could tell him a story, normally he was a smart mouth and had a good comeback, but this time he decided to listen and never opened his mouth. I asked him if he ever felt he was ever putting himself in danger as well as others around him when he was riding like he does, he thought about it for a minute and said that he had never given it much thought. Then I asked him what would happen if he were to fall while riding wheelies down the interstate. He said he never gave it any thought, but he replied it wouldn't be good. I told him I didn't want to hear about him dying in a m/c accident after I retired and that if I didn't have a talk to him about his riding style it would bother me if something happened. Other people had talked to him about his riding style but he always laughed them off and kept doing what he was doing. He said he would think about what I said and thanked me for pulling him aside and caring about him. The next day he came to me and told me he was selling the bike and again thank me for being honest with him.

Go to your local auto parts store and buy a can of Stabil and follow the directions for it use, this will preserve the gas and keep it from gumming up the carbs. Tell your son in law thanks for his service, its sad he wont be there for the birth, our prayers will be with him.

Putting this out really early because I have already been asked what the dates will be for next years Vogel which will be the 7th Vogel event. I haven't put any particulars together yet, so please be patient, as soon as I have more details ready I will be posting them, but by posting the date earlier than normal it may give those who need to plan their vacations ahead of time the opportunity to do so. So here it is.......this date is as always the 3rd weekend in August. You can go to the calendar to RSVP if your coming. Tail of the Dragon/Vogel VII Vogel State Park Blairsville, Ga. August 12-16, 2015

Had dinner with our cousin Jerry, they stopped coming through Atlanta and we met them for dinner. Jerry looks great, still crazy though. Glad to hear your healing, take it easy and dont push the riding too soon. The ride to Memphis and back was way too much for me, it was the first long ride I have had in over a year. Didnt get much riding done at all since my neck surgery in Dec. Look forward to seeing you soon at Jerry's new place.

On our way back from Memphis last week I lost my antenna. The mast seperated from the base. It was weird the part that you loosen to fold the antenna was there along with the sleeve that the actual antenna fits in. If anyone has one for a 1st Gen. I would appreciate any help I can get, the prices on Ebay are outrageous.

I know when I feel down or in need of a little change some cycletherapy is just what the Dr. ordered, sometimes its just a short 30-40 mile ride sometimes longer, but it always brings me back to where I want to be. Just you and mother nature is some of the best medicine known to man...........

No problem Eck, just go back to what worked back in the day..............CASH!!!!!! On a serious note we really missed you in Memphis, hope your feeling better, retirement isnt supposed to hurt, but crap happens, I myself probably shouldn't have gone to Memphis, had a bad cough that worked its way into an upper respiratory infection that is now being treated with lots of drugs..........sucks, but I will be back to normal, my normal that is in a few days.

I found one in pretty good condition in Al. when I was driving but the guy didnt want to part with it, it was in his scrapyard with about 500 other bikes. In fact every one I asked about a price he didnt want to sell, had some sort of emotional bond with all that junk.

Now that is a nice scrambler, but I wish I still had my CL350, been looking for one but they are hard to find one that I can afford.
