Brad, you should have know you couldnt keep your problems a secret, not around this group. It was an honor to do this and I know you will heed your granddad's and pay it forward, and thats the way we would want it. Just get better and take care of your family. Like someone said before, you are on of the good guys here and I am proud to have you as a friend.

Have you done any more repairs on the bike yet, curious to know if you need to replace the bearings under the triple crown or if just tightening it up helped. And my pm box is now empty. Having a great time up here, wet and chilly almost every day, we have seen the sun for a few hous one day. Yesterday missed getting a great picture of two bald eagles sitting on a dock on the lake my brother in law lives on.

I'm with you Eck, now my son entirely different story, he does it all, hunt, fish, with guns and bow.

Yeah, after the fact my wife said she was going to let me buy it, wish I would have bought it first and ask for forgiveness later. My favorite color scheme 2nd only to my old 83 that I sold to wingman. Gene I am jealous, glad you finally saw the light and got a 1st gen. Let's get her fixed up ang go Cruisin' for St. Jude! -

DragonRider replied to Eck's topic in Watering Hole
Knowing you as well as I do with all your skill and imagination the finished project will be a sight to behold, you will need to get you a little trailer so you can tow it behind the Wing for emergencies..................kinda like a lifescooter......!! -

What is your winter project for this year?
DragonRider replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Watering Hole
Randy, you will love the front brakes once you delink them and add the R1 calipers, its an easy switch, I did it on my trike and the brakes are superb. -
Picked up my new 87' Venture thus weekend !!!
DragonRider replied to K-Rider's topic in Watering Hole
I warned him about making a post about buying the Venture and posting it on here, but no, he pleads ignorance, I said to him, just so you wont get picked on and harassed, you need to post a picture or pictures of the bike when you announce it, that is rule number one here at VR. I told him, now evidently he didn't believe me, so let him have it folks...........HE WAS WARNED. THIS POST IS USELESS WITHOUT PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Hey Puc, now that you mentioned St. Jude, how many shirts, pins and hats can I put you down for come auction time.........starting very very soon.
-
Puc, its hard to find an 83 thats running let alone running and good looking to, but this 87 looks really nice. This is about the 4th or 5th bike I had located for him, and if he wasnt buying this one I was.........to good of a buy to pass up. Besides he was really being tight with the bucks, so this one was perfect for him.
-
I will post some pics in this thread before posting auctions, possible this weekend.

Maybe they need to post a list of topics or dirty words........................LOL

An old friend from back home in New Orleans is picing up his new to him bike on Fri. He is getting a Royal Star Venture, he is moving up from a Honda V twin. His exact words were, it is extremely comfortable and it rides like a Caddy and the wife is extremely comfortable on it. I am already pushing him to check us out and join.

I have received new St. Jude items for our last donation. My question is, do I really need to post pictures of them for you to bid on them, I promise you wont be dissappointed in the items, they are always good. But if the majority of you want me to I will post pictures of them. I have shirts, hats, pins, and a couple of premium items that I only have 1 each of. So let me know how you feel about this and I will go with the majority. Thanks for supporting St. Jude, we do make a difference for the "Kids"!

I HATE SPIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, Dan, I figured when I was able to pull the motor our of my 83 and swap tranny's and get it back together again and it ran like it should, I guess I can do just about anything to a Venture, done quite a few repairs on it, some I thought twice about doing. Like you said if you can hold a wrench and speak English, the folks on here can walk or talk you through most any repair. I have done the clutch, tranny, rear end swap, diaphragms on carbs, throttle cables, delinked front brakes, modified front brakes to R1 brakes and calipers, repaired lots of plastic, and helped Muffin and Dokon fix the middle pinion gear, which was the very first repair made on my bike, right after the first Vogel.

I do all my own work, had a lot of help from others on here with special help from Muffinman, learned a lot from him!

Well this Saturday a friend and former co-worker of mine will be picking up his new to him 87 Venture Royale. Been trying to get him to ride mine, but he wouldn't, he formerly rode a Kaw Concours, but got rid of it for a 4 wheeler for his farm. Well I kept finding bikes for him here and elsewhere and kept baiting him, finally found one very reasonable here in the classifieds for $1000.00 which if he didn't buy I was going to buy and add to stable. But he bit and will be getting it this Saturday. His handle is Krider so how about a big welcome from our VR family, a few have met him, and one of the first he met which could have gone bad was 86er and his buddy, Bubba. But that didn't scare him off. Now that makes 2 I have converted to Ventures, the first being Jamie aka Wingman, so now I have two riding buddies from this group very very close to me, looks like I will be busier helping them out with their bikes when needed, neither or very mechanically inclined...........LOL

I too just had an MRI to find out what is causing my migraines, doc showed me the MRI today and said my brain looked normal and everything else it showed was normal too.........but no leaks. I know what you are going through with all the tests and such, this has been going on with me since April, when I started getting these killer migraines every morning, they would wake me up. But at least they seem to have found your problem, now they just have to figure out how to fix it. Dont know if you saw Flight of the Navigator, but your leaking brain brought that movie flooding back to me, because the automated pilot of the space craft told the kid they abducted that his brain was leaking, but information not fluid. We will keep you in our prayers for a full and swift recovery. And knowing you, there will be another humorous story to go along with this next chapter.
