  1. Skid I see that you shaved your goatee...................looking good, just a little pale though, get some more sun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Well K-Rider finally got his 86 back together and we went out for a ride yesterday. It was a beautiful day for a ride, temps were perfect and we had a great ride. Gene has done a great job on his bike with a little help from me and lots of help from others here and the tech articles. He still has a few gremlins to exorcise but its all together and runs good. You will all get a chance to meet him if you come to Vogel in August. Looking forward to more rides with Gene and other members once the weather is nice all over, I am going to get out more now since retirement. Cant wait for the warm weather to get here.
  3. I have the insurance through U S Concealed Carry, and their magazine is excellent in giving tips about different situations. Check it out if you dont have insurance. Its not that expensive and could save you mega bucks in the end if you have to defend yourself or your family.
  4. In Georgia with your permit you are allowed to carry concealed or open if you have the permit. Open carry not allowed without. I have had mine now for almost 2 years and have yet to carry open, dont want to draw attention to myself, I have seen a few carry open, and everyone was watching them, dont wont or need that.
  5. So sorry for your loss Mike, Charlene and I will keep you and your family in our prayers.
  6. Prayers for a successful surgery.
  7. Thank you Craig, the Kids have a great supporter in you.
  8. Here are the instructions for payment for the St. Jude auctions. I would prefer to take paypal at partin_guy@yahoo.com If that is a problem for you, I will gladly take a check made payable to me or St. Jude, but if it is made to St. Jude it will be October of this year before they will get it and it will be outstanding in your account. If made to me it goes in the bank directly as I hold all the funds till we go there. When you make payment via paypal please show it as a donation, this way no fees are taken out. I will also need you shirt size and your mailing address, if you forget either or both it justs slows down shipping to you even more. I wait till all payments are in and ship them all at the same time. If you won more than 1 auction, I only charge you one shipping fee. Below is a list of winners and how much your total is with shipping included in the total. The Tooch......shirt & pin...................................$25.25 313Omer.......Pin...............................................5.25 Oledodge.......Hat.............................................26.00 Slowrollwv......shirt & hat.....................................37.00 ScottA.........shirt & hat......................................61.00 Skid............hat..............................................25.00 Cecdoo.........2 shirts.........................................62.00 8 Kbran..........shirt............................................26.00 Thanks again to everyone who bid and won. 10. Not a probem David, I have yet to make my contribution there.
  11. Only 3 days left till the auctions end, there are still 6 auctions that have no bids and 5 have minimum bids of .25. I have set a minimum reserve of $5.00 on all items. Please remember this is for the "Kids" at St. Jude. Lets not let them down, lets get those bids up, I have plenty more items to auction. Just clik on the link below to go to the auctions. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/photopost/showcat.php?cat=27
  12. Ok folks the auctions are now fixed, thanks to Don pointing out the error of my ways, sorry for any confusion.
  13. Don, there isnt a box marked auction..........just best offer or fixed price.
  14. I finally got off my butt and posted a few items for auction for the "Kids" at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We had a decent year last year with the awesome help of B2Dad & B2Mom raising about 70 % of the monies donated, and I am hoping this year we can do even better considering this year there will be a Tail of the Dragon/Vogel, and we raise quite a bit there, so dig deep, bid often. I have pics posted in the auctions but I will preview them here for everyone to see.
  15. Welcome to the club Gil!!!!!!!!!
  16. The good looking guy on the right is me, on one of my many trips to the Dragon, I will leave up to you to figure out who the o ther bumpkin is..................
  17. Have you parked Freebirds Harley in your garage lately?
  18. Well it started off on Monday, took Charlene to the Dr. for some blood tests, but I stayed out in the car because I didnt want to pick up whatever it is that's going around. My wife started with a dry hacking cough, fever, chills last Fri after getting home from the Dr. That's why I stayed out in the car. Well everything was ok until Christmas Eve, I started with the dry hacking cough, aches, and asthma acting up. So much for me staying healthy through the holidays. Went to my daughters yesterday even though I wasnt feeling like it so we could deliver the grandsons gifts and try to have some similance of a normal Christmas, nope, kept getting worse, so last night my breathing got very difficult while trying to sleep in my bed, so I moved to the living room, which is where my wife was sleeping also, it was the only way we could get comfortable. I have an inhalation therapy machine here, so I dont have to go to the hospital unless that doesnt work. I got a little rest after taking another dose of meds and seemed to be feeling a little better with the exception of the dry cough and achey joints. Around 1 pm I decided to eat some light lunch and this is when the scare came. I was about half way thoroug my lunch when I had the worst coughing spell I have ever had, all of sudden I couldnt catch my breath, my wife said that she came over to see what was wrong and I scared all three of them, she said I gasped one last time and went stiff on the recliner, I seem to remember my feet were twitching, and I hear the yelling and screaming at me. They thought I was playing around. I couldnt move for a minute and when I opened my eyes everything was spinning and I couldnt tell if I was sitting up or lying down, I heard Charlene yell loudly "Lewis, dont do that" and my oldest grand son was screaming Grandpa! Grandpa! After about 30 seconds my wits came back to me and I told her I wasnt playing around, I had coughed so hard for so long I emptied my lungs of oxygen and passed out. Everything is back to some similance of normal, but still got the cough and aches. Charlene said when she heard me gasp and quit breathing she thought I was gone. She cant get rid of me that easy.
  19. Ever hear of Bondit, looks promising for plastic repairs that we are always needing. https://www.touchofmodern.com/sales/bondic-6d378346-198d-4326-880b-45ebe26c3242/bondic-super-bundle
  20. Received a package from St. Jude today, in it were a plaque and a letter of thanks for our donation this year, thought I would share with the membership. Thanks to everyone who made this possible.
  21. Well at first I used LCRAMER, being thats my name, but after I hosted the first Tail of the Dragon, and riding the Dragon I decided to change my username to DragonRider, because it wouldnt be the last time I rode it or lead the attendee's on the Dragon during a Vogel, to date I have probably ridden the Dragon 15 times, and there will be more I am sure.
  22. Mine is shrinking.............but still have a few good useable parts for 83 and up, plus some Goldwing parts...............
  23. Thanks Puc, not something "everyone" needed to know, so I will have to think of some kind of payback the next time I see you, Yammer, dont let my secrets out, thats how I got all those extra parts I left behind. Now when it comes to members who are not mechanically inclined, I thought that Wingman was it, but K-Rider running a close 2nd there..................... Thanks Eck, just paying it forward for all the help other members like yourself have been toward me. That little Ninja 250 was easy to sync, just had to have a super long screwdriver to get to the sync screw. It was fun Gene, looking forward to seeing it all back together, and by the way, thats the hard part, not stripping it down.
  24. I am trying to access the 1st Gen tech section and they are locked, cant get in............What gives? All of them are locked. I am going over to K-Riders to help him with his bike and wanted to acess the first gen tech section to look things up. I know most of what I need to do, but may need to fall back on it if needed.
