  2. .................bump.....................
  3. Patricia, there is a giant grill at the shelter, no need to bring one, just need the food and the charcoal to fire it up.
  4. ................ BUMP............
  5. Vogel is not being canceled, I have heard from some members and I have decided that I will do this years Tail of the Dragon/Vogel VII freestyle, meaning no fees and no frills. I would still like to receive a registration from those that plan on coming, but do not send any money, save it for a donation or raffle tickets when you get there. I will not have t-shirts or patches made and we will forgo the catered meal on Saturday. We will still have a the shelter for Sat. so we will still gather there for the afternoon for raffles and door prices and auctions. There wont be as much as in the past but we will have some. So if the fee's were holding you back, now you have no reason not to come. I hope this will convince some new members to come check out the area, its great riding and sights are many. I will have a limited number of Cruisin' for St. Jude shirts available. Those will be free to each person that comes on a first come basis, I hope I have enough. We will still have our regular ride into Blairsville, Ga, to dine at Fatz, which has great food and has always given us great food and service. If you have already mailed me a check, I can return it to you or tear it up, or whatever you want me to do with it. This event means a lot to me, and I really did not want to cancel, so we start a new chapter in the ongoing series, Tail of the Dragon/Vogel.
  6. Wives are good at that, sometimes I don't think I deserve mine, but I refuse to giver her up.

That title was meant to get everyone's attention..............I am not cancelling yet. Very little interest has been shown for this years event, and I have only received one (1) registration to date, and that one is from our furtherest traveling members, Annie and Alan. According to the poll only about 10 showing coming, and only 7 have RSVP. I depend on the registration fee's to help fund this event and its looking pretty grim right now. I still have to order shirts and patches and without a decent head count it makes it very difficult. I would hate to cancel it because its always been a great event with great people, and it would be a great disappointment to not have a good donation for the "Kids". If I have to cancel I would make sure that those that have reservations would be able to cancel in time without penalty from the park or wherever they stay and that is normally 30 day notice. So that would make the cutoff date around the 8th of July. Vogel is scheduled for Aug. 12-16. Please, I do not want to cancel a great event that has been such a huge success for the "Kids" at St. Jude. My only other option would be to have the event with no fee's, no shirts and patches or catered meal and hope for the best.
  8. Dick, thanks for that useful info, I would never have remembered that if you were to tell me over the phone, so glad it is here in writing.
  9. We have new items up for auction for the "Kids" at St. Jude, and many thanks to Hummingbird for supplying these beautiful handmade items. I have set a Reserve price of $20.00 on all items, and I think that is a good place to start. Hoping we can do well with these items and if we do Dick has offered to do some more if we do well. So lets not let the Kids and Dick down.
  10. Thanks Dick, cant wait to get them and put them up for auction, looks like there will be more attention to these than the shirts and hats, like you said, that gets kinda old after a while.
  11. Dick, those are absolutely beautiful, and it looks like they will be wanted by many. Anything will be greatly appreciated. You are very talented at woodworking, wish I had just a little bit of that skill.
  12. Checked that but you dont see many 93 royales triked for sale.
  13. Thats exactly what I did and was surprised at the value I came up with, over triple what I paid for it.............and more than double what I currently have it insured for, so upping the value when I renew.
  14. Thanks Annie, looking forward to seeing you and Alan..............
  15. Does anyone know where I can find values for trikes, I cant seem to find anyone that does it. When I insure my bikes they always ask me to place a value on it that I want it insured for, they dont seem to use book values. I valued it higher than what I paid for it, but I dont think I could replace it for that, so I am thinking about upping the value. It costs me a few dollars more to do it but I think its worth the extra dollars to do so.
  16. I would be all over that if I was looking, not even broken in yet and a lots of bling...............buy it.
  17. BUMP..................................................
  18. I might try the auctions one more time, but response has been down on them. In fact response for Vogel is way down, kinda thinking about canceling it. But thats just me thinking...........
  19. Plenty of camping sites available at Vogel State park. http://www.gastateparks.org/Vogel
  20. It is getting harder and harder to get companies that have donated items for Vogel to do so, I have sent out many emails to all the companies that have donated and so far only one has responded and has done so every year I have asked, and that company is Morgan Carb Tune, they have donated two (2) Carb Tunes for prizes this year. Many members have donated in the past and if anyone would be able to donate any small item it would be greatly appreciated and I would gladly reward you with a Cruisn'for St Jude shirt, hat , or pin. As you all know, all of this is for the "Kids" at St. Jude so any donation will be greatly appreciated by all.
  21. Yes Patti, I have, I wanted to send you some earlier but you said NO, I have plenty left auctions have been kinda slow.
  22. It also made it to Georgia, I think that was the first or second stop after Venture West, thats how my signature go on it.
  23. Sorry for the delay in announcing the winners, things have been sort of hectic here for me and Charlene. But here they are. 313Omer.......3 pins, 1 hat, Squidley........2 T-shirts........22.00 + 5.00= $27.00 MstrGuns.......1 T-shirt.........26.00 = 5.00- $31.00 You can make payments to paypal partin_guy@yahoo.com Please include shirt size when making payment.
  24. At least you still have 4 wheels, after my wife's accident the other nite, she only had three..............................
  25. I posted this on facebook and some of the members here have seen it, but I think its important enuff that everyone should read it. Ok, its time for some truth, Don't ignore chest pain or burning sensation, even if you think its indigestion or heartburn, get attention right away, truth is I didn't, but I am still here to talk about it. Yeah, I got to the ER in time but if I had paid attention to my warning signs earlier in the day when they occurred, I likely wouldn't have to have suffered the intense pain that finally sent me to the ER in an ambulance. Earlier in the day right after lunch with a very good friend, I started having moderate chest pains which I passed off as indigestion and I ignored them, even thought my friend, Don Hayes, wanted to take me right then and there to the ER. But I declined, later that evening around 7:30 my ignorance turned into the worst pain I have ever felt. I thought I was having the Big One. Turns out it wasn't, but it was a very close call. It wasn't a full fledged heart attack, but if I had waited much longer it could have been. Turns out I had a 99% blockage in one artery and 50% in another. They put a stent in the major blockage and are treating the other with meds, and of course there will be dietary restrictions coming real soon. I feel like I have been given a second chance and I am not going to screw this one up. So, if you have chest pains, or burning sensation in your chest, get to the ER immediately , do not delay, don't eat that taco, get up and go...........PLEASE!
