1969 Honda SL90 1971 Honda CL350 1973 Honda CB350F 1971 Kawasaki Z900 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 LTD 1974 Honda CB450 1983 Yamaha XJ550 1983 Yamaha XJ750 RH Touring 1983 Yamaha Venture XVZ1200 2007 Yamaha V Star 1300 Tour The list could be much longer,it is in the order that I had them, but I only listed bikes that I actually kept and rode on a regular basis, I could add about 20 other bikes that I bought and fixed up and then resold to finance my obsession with bikes. There were many large and small, and some I wish I would have kept, but the smart one in the family said sell. The last two on the list are my keepers and daily riders.

I have just posted 4 auctions in the classified section under St. Jude Auctions. You can click on the banner at the top of the page when you see it, or go to classifieds and select St. Jude Auctions or this link. St. Jude Auctions - VentureRider Classifieds All of the auctions are the same, you can select the size shirt when you make your payment via paypal or snail mail. Remember, all monies raised by these auctions go directly to St. Jude Childrens's Hospital. We will have a ride sometime in September to hand deliver the monies to St. Jude. Right now I have about $550.00 that has been raised so far for this years ride. I want to thank everyone here for their continued support this group gives to St. Jude and the kids there.

First time I have seen this upgrade for a 1st Gen, looks like it would provide quite a bit of light........... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Venture-83-85-Halogen-Projector-Light-Upgrade_W0QQitemZ170454829736QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item27afe64aa8

How long do you go between changing out brake pads on your ride..........My Vstar is in the shop and they called and said I needed new brake pads front and back. I have right at 20,000 miles on them right now.................I dont believe I have abused the brakes, I thought I would get more out of them..............

Now if it could get plenty of air time here in the states, that would be great, we dont see many P/S spots about motorcycle safety here...............Dont know if you noticed they were driving on the wrong side for the US.

I had the 16th on my mind because that is Charlene's post op surgery appointment, I will be there on Sat. the 13th for the event..................
-
My new rear tires arrived today, I couldnt believe the speed at which they got here, I paid for them on Feb.27, and they got here on Mar. 3rd. Took the V Star in to the dealer for it 20,000 mile service and having them install the Shinko Radial on the rear. On Sat, I will take the rear tire for the 1st Gen in and have it mounted, while that is being done, I hope to have all the brake parts here so I can re-do the rear brakes and master cyl, and resv. Looks like I might be taking the 1st gen to Todds M&E&R&E&R on the 13th.

They might turn around and use it and not give you any credit for it.............And it is very good, I especially like your slogan under it...............

Steering Head Bearing Nut Wrench (Fork Wrench) Shipping
DragonRider replied to dingy's topic in Watering Hole
Got mine yesterday, thanks, looked a lot bigger in the pic, will fit nicely in my tool kit. Thanks again for doing this. We have some very handy people on this site, what a great deal to belong to this group for $12.00. -
I put a bid on that stuff, and my first bid was already too low, I bet somebody has a nice high bid in there knowing this stuff is as good as gold............I might try again later before it ends, but my limit is likely well below what someone is is bidding.............I could turn a little profit with the parts I dont need.

Me too..............It could get real nasty............

Well you broke my heart telling me about that crawfish pie, then I had to see that pic of Squidly loading up on it............... Lots of fantastic Cajun cooking, yes Lewis that was me with the little bit of Crawfish pie infront of my mug and it was fantastic! Some Gumbo, and Jumbyliah and too much other good eats...cheesecake too You know what they say about payback.................Right Squid...................But I got my own Cajun cook here, and since Charlene has been home I have had 3 great cooks from S. La. here and I am loving it.............Boudin, Gumbo, Chicken Chile, Red Beans & Rice with smoked sausage, you name it I been having it............ Looks like a great time was had by all and I saw a lot of familiar faces from past meets and MD.

Its good to see you back on a real bike, even if it is a 2nd Gen. Just dont let happen to this one like the last G2 you rode.............Good luck with it and Congratulations..

As Bubba will be here I think we will be in good hands, dont think I want to leave Todd alone with my 1st gen, remember, he has one sitting in his garage that might need a few parts to get it back in shape and I spent to long getting mine back where it needs to be...............
-
New tires are on the way for both bikes, Dingy's tool is on the way, my replacement rear master brake cylinder and resv. are on the way, now while I have the rear wheel off getting the new tire mounted I will replace the rear brake system, hoping that cures whats ailing the linked braking system. I will also take the time to check and adjust the fork nut, I dont think it needs it but will check it anyway, if all goes well the 1st Gen will be back to the way it was with the exception of 2nd gear, which will have to wait for the Muffin to get back and get all rested up and hopefully come down with Mini and visit and help me with that, if not I will just have to live with it for the time being. Now if I can get Todd over here with master mechanic Bubba we might get the CB figured out........... The V Star will be taking a back seat for a while, and I can do some things to it that I have been putting off.

Just ordered my tires, got the Shinko's, looking forward to getting them on the bikes, I went with a Shinko 747 Radial for the V Star 1300, and Shinko SR777 for the 1st Gen. Wanted the Radial for both, but couldnt find it for the Venture... Total outlay with shipping was $228.00 for 2 new Shinko rear tires..............now just hoping they come close to the handling I was used to with the Avons. That is a lot better than paying over $325.00 for two avons and neither Avon was radial. After install at dealer it will be about another $80.00 for that..........so about the same as 2 Avons not installed.

Have you tried a V Star 1300 Tour, thats what I have, Snarley Bill has one also, great bike and they can be had very reasonable prices used. I think there are some others here that have one also. If I had it to do over again, no question, same bike.
-
Ok, I have read some of the input on the Shinko tires, but they are somewhat dated, does anyone have any more feedback on them, mileage, handling, pros, cons.......looking to buy tires for both bikes and having trouble getting the tires I want at MotorcycleProShops, cant order via internet, and keep getting voice mail when I call......and they have the best prices around.............
