I just got my V Star back from servicing at the stealer, didnt make out too bad, but thats not what this post is about, I took the bags off of the V Star when I took it in, so I figured I would check with Rick Butler about his saddle bag screws for the RSV. He said they would fit and its was a wise investment, it was a snap putting the bags back on without any tools, they come from the factory with allen screws and its a pain to take them off and reinstall them, not now. I recommend anyone who owns a V Star 1300 Tour get these, you wont regret it. Thanks again to Rick Butler for another fine product by one of our talented members..............

I am surprised it took him this long to find one, but I thought it might be a tad bigger, at least he can keep in practice, and when he drops it, ah la Vogel, he can pick it up by himself................

Just one of the many reasons to belong to this group for the low unheard of bargin price of $12.00 a year.................

I know its been discussed here before but I am too lazy to search and really dont have the time to right now, I need to know what year rear box will fit and 83 without modification or maybe just a little of it. I have seen some 83-85 with an 86 box and wondering if its just a simple swap. After all my repair on mine some of the cracks have reappeared since they were repaired and repainted. I hate cracked plastic, and the bigger box would be nice also.

If that bike had been available when I bought my V Star 1300, I would have bought it, I like the llooks and Honda doesnt market something that isnt gonna sell. A:nd you meet the nidest Ventureriders on a Honda, just ask Eck.

Todd has plenty of experience with that...............he would be of great help, as long as Bubba stays home..................I think Bubba was the reason he has that experience............if you know what I'm saying................:rotfl:

Just got back from 86er's M&E, did 314 Chilly, damp, sunny, overcast miles. This is the first long ride I have had on the Venture (83) in 15 months, I finally got it all back together after repaint, mounted a new rear tire, new brakes all the way around, and I dont regret one minute of it, it was worth the wait, she handled just like I remember but looks ten times better than she did when I pulled her apart. Next upgrade will be the R1 brakes up front, 86er did his and was a simple swap out..........look out ebay. I will have this bike for a long time along with my VStar 1300. These old bikes have plenty of life left in them, just treat them right and they wont let you down.

You will need new plastic face plate that it fits into, and if you dont already have the radio and amp you will also need those for the factory cb to work, and you will need to make a jumper for the plug if you dont get the cassette with it. I have an 83 and whoever had it before me did put the am/fm, and cb radio on it and it works fine. All the top fairing peices for mounting the radios will work as long as they are 83-93. You can find them new at Bikebandit.com

Now I need pics for changing the oil.................

Got the 1st gen back together, new brakes front and rear, new rear tire, Shinko 777, like the way it felt when I test drove it last night, only 1 small detail to take care off, headlight burnt out while I was test driving it, so need to pull it this afternoon and put the spare in it, change the oil and she is ready to ride full time. Hopefully the weather will clear up by tomorrow so I can make it to 86er's M&E&R&E&R.

They are getting a wonderful employee at a bargain rate, I know the kind of work you do and your work ethics are top notch. They will see what a good employee you are and you be at that level very long..............Congratulations, and God Bless all those that have helped you down there..........the people on this site are a Blessing, but we have know that for a long long time..............Don must have been a visionary when he started this site, cause look at what a blessing it has been to each and every one of us, sure we bicker, fight , call each other names, but when it get down to brass tacks, we would go to the wall for each other, and thats what makes this such a special place.

Welcome to the club of Husbands Nursing Wives back to health................Now we know how it feels when they have to nursemaid us when we get a tad sick or broken someplace..........I know you will do well, and like Freebird said, we are lucky to have these ladies in our life, and there is nothing we wouldnt do to make them happy..........Well almost nothing, if you know what I mean...........We will keep Taters in our prayers for a swift recovery........... Lewis & Charlene, who is well on the mend here.

I have several pair of those and keep them in each bike, and your right keep you warm and dry as long as its not a monsoon type rain. I actually bought them to use when snow skiing and they worked very well for that also.

Looks great and the flames are a nice touch..........I am like Squidley when it comes to flames. Those are very well done. And the B2.............Outstanding. I know you guys are really proud of your sons accomplishments, and you have every right to be. He seems to have both feet planted firmly on the ground even though he is up in the clouds most of the time. Tell him Thanks again for us for what he does........... Hope Don is on the mend fast, I know how much of a pain it is not to be able to do the things you want to............... We will keep him in our prayers............ Looking forward to seeing you guys again in Memphis later this year, if not sooner. Lewis & Charlene

Just brought my Venture rear tire to have new one installed, guy behind the counter says if I buy the tire from them, they will only charge $20.00 to change it if I bring it in. I ask how much for that same tire I just brought in, he looks it up and its $187.00 and change, I said you match what I paid and you got a deal. He might be able too, how much did you pay for tire. I told him it was $136.00 and that included shipping, he backed down real quick and agreed that I was doing better bringing my own tire in. Total to mount and balance my tire is $46.00, so I end up spending $182.00 total. Looks to me I am saving about $25.00.
