  2. They suck big time...........I only got 7200 out of mine, thats why I switched to Avons......Now I am trying the Shinko on the rear, see how much I can get out of one of them.
  3. Dan you like to gave me cardiac arrest, I thought you spilled Brown Sugar!!! Dont you ever do that again................. Like Skid said, why would you want to ride any other bike................
  4. Dr.'s let her out today (Friday), still find it hard to believe home and walking 2 days after a total hip replacement........... Thanks to everyone for their prayers and support, now comes the hard part, recovery and getting back to a normal life.......... Thanks to all the VR family....... ........
  5. I must have just left for work when Skid posted his, and I didnt see it highlighted as a new post when I logged on yesterday after noon when we got home. Charlene is doing well, very sore this morning , waiting on the therapist to get here, supposed to be here at 10:00 am this morning, probably her GPS sent her to the wrong side of town, has happened before. Yes I will be busy taking care of Charlene and hopefully soon she will be well enough to begin leading a normal life, but it will take time. Her leg feels like dead weight, this happens when they cut on bone, the leg or limb that they cut on shuts down for a while. The pain and discomfort now comes from the muscles being streched and pulled, since they did not cut any muscle she doesnt have any restrictions on how she can move her leg. This surgeon is one of two in the country who uses this technique, and has had amazing results with it. Thanks again to everyone for their prayers and thoughts........this family is simply amazing.:clap2:

  7. Well we couldnt make it due to Charlene's hip surgery, we hadnt been home more than 1 hr when the phone rings and its Eck, and I hear horns blowing and all kinds of racket, then I finally heard Eck, thanks for checking up on Charlene, she had a big smile on her face after talking to Eck, I also heard Don in the background, hope you guys have a great time. Thanks again for being great family support for Charlene, we really appreciate it.
  8. And I know exactly how you feel, I just finished mine a few months ago, I have to stop and look at it every time I walk by it............. I love your color:thumbsup2:, I almost went with Black Cherry on mine, but had a change of heart, I am partial to Black.
  9. Here is the link, its pretty much like this site, hope this helps. The second link has a lot of info relating to the 1300. [/url] Yamaha Motorcycle Forum - Powered by vBulletin V Star 1300 Wiki / Handlebars - Controls - Cables
  10. The vendor you are dealing with probably had the same problem you had when you set your part down and couldnt find it..................He cant find your parts so he is stalling you till he finds them....................:rotfl::rotfl:.
  11. Great news Don, now if we could get everyone on this site healthy at one time, that would be great, Glad to hear everything is going in the right direction. We will continue to keep you and Eileen in our prayers.............
  12. I have not done it yet, but I read on the V Star 1300 forum that handlebars from a 2nd gen are a perfect fit, dont even have to replace any cables, it does stretch them to their limit but they do work. I do know that on the 2010 models they changed the handlebars to be closer to the rider...........
  13. Charlene is doing better, still in some discomfort, especially getting in and out of bed. Therapist were just here, she did a 10 minute walk around the floor she is on and did well, still has a way to go, Dr. said she might be able to go home tomorrow. Next step in therapy will be going up and down stairs.........we got a bunch of them at home. She and I thank you for all your prayers and well wishes............ Lewis & Charlene

I love hearing that tune played on the pipes, it gives me chills everytime I hear it.......... Thanks.
  15. The inside is open. Doesnt have a liner in it like the others.........but I didnt want all the extra stuff on it. I just use my MP3 and portable CB, and I also have intercom, all this thru a small unit on the handlebars.
  16. Dan, I dont need to run, I own a first gen...........now ifin I had a 2nd gen, I might need to run.................:rotfl:
  17. Looks like I will have to get a couple of those, one for the Venture, and one for the V Star.................or get 1 for each side of the bike and really make sure they hear me.......................
  18. Charlene is out of surgery and back in her room now, they will have her up and walking after lunch. The Dr. said her hip was really bad, and said she should have had this surgery years ago....The doctors here are the best, on top of all the latest techniques, in fact they pioneer much of it at Emory Univ, which this is part of................She is still a little groggy, and has her pump for the pain which I have to keep reminding her to use..........It is unbeleivable how small the incision is for this type of surgery, its only about 4 inches long, and its on the front side of her hip, new technique only done by a couple of surgeons, the recovery time is much shorter and far less restrictions as to what she can do. We will she how well she walks after lunch..................
  19. I have one mounted on my V Star 1300, but I didnt use the Quik Loc that they sell for their fairings. I fabricated my own mounts out of alum. I made some L brackets that attach to the 4 mounting bolts on the inside of the fairing and then used our automated milling machine at work to cut some solid mounts out of alum with holes on one end and slotted holes on other. Those mount directly to the chrome windshield mounts on the bike. It only takes about 5 minutes to remove it and reinstall the stock windshield.
  20. Dont know why your keeping beer cold for Jeff.............he dont drink, but save em for me, I will help you with them..................
  21. We have to get up extra early tomorrow, we have to be at the hospital at 5:30 in the morning. Charlene is going back in for a total hip replacement. Hopefully this will be the last surgery she will have, they say there is a fair chance her knee pain may lessen after this surgery, if so it will be the end to all of her problems, I dont know how she has put up with all the pain from her back, hip and knee. along with me the royal pain. She should be out of the hospital by Saturday if all goes well. Recovery will be much faster than her back surgery. She will be up and walking the afternoon of the surgery. Please keep her in your prayers.
  22. I think there is a question in there somewhere, but I will be danged if I know what it is...........
  23. Charlene and I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers for a good checkup...........
  24. Keep your head down, :duck:We wouldn't want anything to befall you before your return, and stay off that wanna-be bike you got, a guy could get hurt riding those things...........and my list is short for Muffin-man repairs.............only 1 little item I need your help with...... Charlene and I are looking forward to seeing you again, and Mini too:bighug:..........
  25. Freebird should have digital copies of the logo since he is the Big Kahuna..................:dancefool:
