Passenger CB
DragonRider replied to tpalshadow's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I dont know about 2nd gens, but on 1st gens there is a wire with a plug that runs to the rear passenger seat, it is located under the seat. You might want to check there and see if you have one. If there is, you can plug into that and she can hear and communicated with you, doesnt have to have a control to work. -
I am not using a laptop or a pc to access VR tonite. My son-in-law has acquired some brand new HP Thin Clients. They are small units that allow you to acess the www without having to worry about viruses or any other of those nasty little pest. They do not have a hard drive so you cannot download anything to it to save it. It is very fast. It has its own operating system and web browser. I am going to try to weasel one out of him if I can. He has about 8 of them for sale and is selling them for $150.00 if anyone is interested.

My similar pain was caused by 2 ruptured disc in my neck, had them removed and fused and been good ever since, still have some aches now and then but nothing like what I had before the surgery......it got so bad, I had to sleep in a recliner with both arms elevated, couldnt grip a glass of water without extreme pain, in fact any movement of arm or hand was bad..............

Now you can let the pygmies out and let them do their thing....................

I was going home in my van on 1-610 in New Orleans one afternoon, in the hammer lane doing about 60. I was about 6-7 car lengths behind a pickup truck that had a couple of alum ladders tied to the bed of the truck. all of a sudden one of the extension ladders started extending itself, when it reached its full length it fell out of the truck, nothing I could do, it was sliding down the interstate fully extended to about 24 ft, I tried to straddle it but it started turning sideways and I ended up hitting it with all 4 wheels, tearing the ladder to shreds but luckily not doing any damage to my van expect for a big dent on the bottom side of my gas tank.............glad I wasn't riding on a bike at that time...................

One of the best looking bikes Yamaha ever built...........they ought to do a retro, I bet it would be a big seller for beginners and those who had one and wished they hadn't sold it......

I really missed being there this year, but Charlene and I will be there next year for sure..............

Hasn't happened to me on the bike, but has happened to me several times when I was on the road in my van..........your arent happy about it, but when it hits the fan you have to do what you have to do to get going again, lots of places will go out of their way to get a traveler on the way as quickly as possible, some add a premium to it some dont, I was always happy to get going again, lighter in the pocket book but on my way again. I feel your pain but it will go away with time. As they say time heals all wounds.

It was great having Jeff and Mini over, Jeff and Charlene have been keeping secrets from me, Im not pissed, but if I were to keep those kind of secrets I would be in deep Do-Do. We had a great time chatting and catching up with Jeff and Mini, since I, Jamie, Paula, Todd, GreyGhost and Elizabeth didnt make it up to MD. While I am thinking of MD, I had to do an adjustment of Muffinmans bike for him...............Yes, I knew how to do something that Muffinman couldnt..............adjusted his clutch free play for him............I guess that a first time for another member to work on one of Jeff's bike........... Todd and I escorted Jeff and Mini back to Terry's house then headed back home I made it back about 10:15. It was a great day with great friends and a great ride, which totaled about 140 miles for me. Here are a few of my pics from the meet. I forgot to mention that we had a visit from Bubba, who fell in love with the Annie Koala bear he didnt want to give it back for its continued travels.

I sold some property I owned in Pagosa Springs, Co. I went and deposited the check into my account. I was on my bike and had a lot of cars lined up behind me, so I just stuck the receipt in my pocket and took off. Bad move, when I got home I took the receipt out and was going to put it in my checkbook, but noticed something was missing.........a zero was left out before the decimal point and instead of a $23,000.00 deposit it was $2,300.00!!:shock3: Well I didnt trust a phone call, so I ran back to the bank and went straight to the manager and pointed out their omisson.............He went straight to the drive in and found my deposit and fixed it up...........Now I check my slips every time I get them back in my hand........Aint gonna let that happen again............:bang head:

Sitting here trying to figure out how to get some of these Crusin for St. Jude items out without having an auction I have come up with a contest to do so. The prize will be a St. Jude T-shirt, hat, and pin to the winner. The first person that can tell me the name for the lyrics I have posted below will win them.Good luck. Fading light dims the sight And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright From afar drawing nigh, Falls the night. Day is done, gone the sun From the lakes, from the hills, from the skies All is well, safely rest; God is nigh. Then goodnight, peaceful night; Till the light of the dawn shineth bright. God is near, do not fear, Friend, goodnight.

Muffinman must be pretty strong, because I saw him pick up the engine from Clays bike when we had it hear for a remake...............He made it look pretty heavy, judging from the color of his face and the weird expressions, when he tried to get it up on the work bench. Someone else judged it to be about 220 lbs, so I guess I will use the heavier weight for estimation purposes. And just because he uses pink here and wears pink chaps, Muffin aint no pansy.....................:rotfl:
-
Very nice ride Bill, but I didnt figure you for a tassle and fringe guy:rotfl:
-
My first gen didnt start shedding parts till I put Harley mufflers on it.................I have lost 3 dash vents while riding:doh:.

Can anyone tell me what a Venture motor weighs without the carbs. I need to get one shipped and I am trying to get estimates and need a good weight. I know one person can pick it up, but I havent done it so I have no idea.
