  1. Here is a link to historical data you can look at that may help make up your mind. http://www.sercc.com/climateinfo/historical/historical_nc.html http://www.fodors.com/world/north-america/usa/north-carolina/the-north-carolina-mountains/feature_30002.html
  2. I would worry more about snow and ice more than rain in November. Are you doing all of the Parkway or just parts, If you like wine and old mills there is Mabry Mill and Chateau Morriste (not sure if I spelled either right) in Meadows of Dan, you could also jump off the parkway above Roanoke and visit the D-D Memorial. There is Biltmore House in Ashville and a few falls along the route.

  4. I am about 85% sure I am camping out next weekend the 12th to the 145th at Hungry Mother State Park in Marion Va at the foot of the "Back of the Dragon" (RT 16) should be some good riding, I hear the tropical storm that is coming up will probally take most of the leaves away next this weekend and early next week.
  5. Since the Bike went to WV does that mean Maint Day is at Yammer's now?
  6. Sounds like a great Idea, would not mind doing something like that a lttle further south.
  7. Is it better to buy ones you have to fill instead of the prefilled ones straight off the shelf?
  8. That's a new one on me too. I have not filled a battery in probally 20 years.
  9. Praying for the best
  10. There is an App for that.
  11. :thumbsup::thumbsup::big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon:
  12. Turns out the bikes were in NY for something called Holloywood Stuntz they see who can do the most outrageous things on the highway and post them is what I got out of it. http://www.youtube.com/user/Hollywoodstuntz http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/10/01/new-york-man-celebrating-first-anniversary-with-wife-child-left-for-dead-after/
  13. This was the most complete article I saw (same as the first one), alot of the sport bike forums are really blasting the SUV driver. http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/pack-motorcyclists-chase-man-suv-attack-upper-manhattan-street-fender-bender-west-side-highway-article-1.1471585
  14. Be good to see you on the road again.
  15. Mouser Electronics or Digi-Key have the connectors.
  16. Happened to us and it turned out to be the cable under the passenger seat had come unplugged.
  17. In addition to what GeorgeS said. Check to see what your charging voltage is it should be above 13 volts then check the connection at the regulator make sure there are no burnt or damaged pins. If none of these items take care of it we can go from there with more in depth troubleshooting.
  18. The power socket is not live with the ignition off so unless you modified it the battery should not be getting any charge, all it is doing is charging up the capacitive components to a point where it is strong enough to power up the radio.
  19. Looks like the one at Jacksonville Zoo.
  20. I was checking my tire once and the valve came apart shot across my garage, I use metal ones now.
  21. Do you have a link? Also please post pics on how it turns out.
  22. I have a lift adapter but when I do not want to jack up the bike in the air I put two 2X4s together and routed out a slot in the top one so the kickstand fits right in then I put a 20 pound weight on the left floorboard to make sure it does not fall over. Probably not the safest method but for quick items like checking oil in the sight glass it is quick ,easy and of course cheap.
  23. I just cut the connector off and soldered directly to it.
  24. Thanks for the story it put things in perspective this morning and most of all I am glad you are still here to tell about it.
  25. Great pics reminds me of home, well actually that is my home turf. Glad you are having fun.
