  1. Is there a particular section we should camp in?
  2. The sidewall on these were marked 42 Max its a 74V and Avon concurred, on my other Venture they are Marked 50 it's an 80H and I run closer to that on those.
  3. Since both the wife and I are large folks and we pull the trailer I was running max 42 pounds Bought the E3, waiting to see if the Avon rep will do anything for me on the old tire.
  4. Thanks my local dealer had them, I forgot about my military discount I will ask for it when I pick the tire up.
  5. Pretty much especially since I would be 2 up and pulling a trailer. Believe it or not Charleston is not a easy place to find tires for this bike. Had E3's on it till I hit that piece of metal last year and had to get this one while on the road.
  6. I had one go out on the road so I got the Mr. Gasket one from OReillys but if I had the time I would have gotten the one with positive cutoff.
  7. Probally go Dunlap Ellite 3 to match the front tire, that is if one is available localy.
  8. 3909 so it is right at 5 years old, I had a flat last year in Louisville and it was only tire I could find did not even think about looking at the date code then. If I was a pessimistic person I would say the dealer offloaded an old tire on me.
  9. Been going over the bike to make sure it was ready to go to International and thought I had something in the tire but after closer inspection I noticed the tread was cracking and separating from the tire. I have heard of the issue with Avons and the sidewall cracking but never the treads separating. I dropped Avon an e-mail to see if I have any options. Most of all I just wanted to say if you have Avons go check you tread. Hopefully someone local has a tire I can get before International.
  10. The center stand does not give you enough height to pull the rear tire out. Harbor Freight, Northern Tool or Sears have decent lifts for around 75 bucks. Once you have done it a time or two you can have the wheel off in 20 mins or less.
  11. Have a great trip and ride safe. I am looking at a 15 to 20 day trip to Vegas next year from Charleston.
  12. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=515 Link for the tech library article with pics
  13. Glad you are ok, wish you the best with the insurance company.
  14. Get the wiring harness adapter from M61A1MECH it will make it much easier to connect your trailer adapter. I use the Hoppy isolated adapter from Autozone I think it's around 45 to 50 bucks and it draws the power from your battery so if you get a short in your trailer the bike lights still work. Here is the link to the harness adapter. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=4200&title=auxillary-tail-light-harness-for-royal-star-venture&cat=35 Adapter http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Hopkins-Trailer-Tail-Light-Converter/_/N-a8pa0?itemIdentifier=70605_534335_0_
  15. I have posted a few times on the Touring Hogs site and I think it will catch on. touringhogs.com
  16. Hope you and the bike get better soon and I agree with avoiding construction zones.
  17. Believe it or not I have had the best luck form the OEM regulator.
  18. The main fuse is behind the cover behind the left side passenger foot rest. It is a good possibility it could be the regulator or one of the connections in between.
  19. Sounds like the way mine did when the stator failed. Charge your battery and check your charging voltages after you check your connections and get home.
  20. Nope, not a clue. Thought I might have recognized it but no antlers.
  21. There is but watch out for naked chat.
  22. 0012 is a little early for me to be up
  23. If the antenna is too long you may be able to remove some windings from the top but I have never dealt with these antennas. With almost no ground plane on the bike I doubt they are matched very well but I could be wrong.
  24. I have several hundred pics.
  25. What's bad is I am even in the picture
