I can relate I lost my Go-Pro a couple weeks back and have now found out that you can get tethers to keep the camera/phone from flying away if the mount or cradle breaks.

Have done a couple of Patriot Guard missions with both those clubs in attendance and never been an issue and never given a hard time about the Venture.

That's only 2800 miles for me. 12 Days for the trip and 4-5 for the Rally works for me.

Yes, It's fairly easy just wire a mic up with a 5 pin din you will have to run a set of wires to the push to talk circuit so you can use the mic PTT. Here is a thread that covers it http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=59362
