  1. When they started making Craftsman in China is when they lost me. I worked for Sears part time in the 90's to pay for my diving habit while I was stationed in Key West we worked commission only and I believe we tried harder.
  2. Glad she is healing, keeping y'all in our thoughts and prayers.
  3. Wish you the best, you will be kicking butt before you know it.
  4. Welcome to the madhouse, be the best $12 you ever spent.
  5. Glad you got it going
  6. Wife and I are both large folks and only trouble I have had was with an older Avon tire I bought when I had a flat on the road, it was not the highest load rating available and the treads started splitting. I do not know if it was the load rating or the age of the tire, was the only one the dealer had in stock so I was stuck with it, so watch the load ratings and the age of the tire.
  7. Never know what you will find.
  8. There was a trucking show on early morning AM radio when I would go on the truck with my Dad when I was growing up and they would play Jerry Clower on it, I remember it was sponsored by Melton truck lines "run with the rabbit" I have a cassette tape case signed by him a couple years before he passed.
  9. Was in the 70's here this weekend, spent it replacing breaks on the car. Glad you were able to get a ride in might keep those winter blues off a couple more weeks.
  10. Like we use throw darts at a map.
  11. Now if you just had an old jet ski laying around you could have adapted the engine and impeller to your washing machine.
  12. Back home in Va we always stopped unless it was on the Interstate and on the I we would just stay in the opposite lane, here in SC it is hit and miss, I pulled over and people keep passing me and other times everyone stops. I do not think there are any laws but just courtesy and of course you have at safety too.
  13. I posted pics and diagrams of how to do it, here is one of the threads: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?59362-CB-Mic-help
  14. I did away with the connector that connects the harness to the stator and soldered it, the one that gave me the issue is the one that plugs into the regulator/rectifier.
  15. I have both on my helmet, works pretty good, only use the mike for the CB, looks odd with two booms. I think I will get me a full face mike and affix it to the boom for the Bluetooth and see how it works.
  16. I did not get the HO stator, turned out most of my problems were in the R/R connector I was just too stubborn to admit it because it ohmed out fine but was breaking down under load, replaced the connector and all was well with the world.
  17. I bought the Rick's motor sports one a couple of years ago with no issues so far.
  18. My Dad always said eating bananas helped him, guess they are high in potassium, also take Jay's advice and get them checked out.
  19. I honestly do not believe there is much you can do or change that would greatly impact what is going on with the site now, it is not just this site but all of the forum style sites are being affected by social media. I have a couple of sites I visit daily and this is one of them, I want to see what is going on with everyone however I have not been responding to post like I use to and those of still around reaching out to others is probably the only thing we can do short of taking out ads for the site to keep it afloat. Here is the link for the business cards: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?248-venturerider-cards
  20. Cool, let me know when you get it going sounds like fun.
  21. It does feel much lighter without the trunk and I think you could make it where it would be comparable in time and effort to the Harley to remove with just a little redesign.
  22. Can't top what Eck said, lot's of options out there.
  23. I mounted the CB at the rear of the fender with the intention of moving it into the saddle bag which can easily be done if you do not mind cutting a hole on the inside to run the cables through. I relocated the antennas using a license plate mount I fabricated (too cheap to buy one) the antennas are Firesticks, they work better than stock.
  24. It does not last very long and does not work well on items that are not clear.
