  1. Just checking in to see how things are going?
  2. Amarillo is 100 miles and it looks like they have two good sized dealers one of them may be able to help you out. Sharp's Motorsports 4413 Interstate 40 Access Rd (806) 373-3051 David Brown's Sport Center Inc 4203 Canyon Dr (806) 358-4572
  3. I forgot about disconnecting everything, we rode back from Columbia like that a few years ago (100) miles, did not unplug the fuel pump. It will not hurt the stator to run disconnected.
  4. Doubt if you got a bad battery, had two regulators go bad on me and cause overcharging and boiled the battery. If you run it too long like that it will not only destroy the battery it will also take the stator with it.
  5. I had a Corbin seat on one of My RSV's and handling wise no difference but I liked the seat my wife hated it, after many years of resistance I am about to put a 130 tire on the front which some say will improved slow speed handling.
  6. You said that a little gas came out of the petcock? I am assuming you had the fuel hose off the bottom and it was not a steady stream? If this is the case the problem is in the tank either the vent hose is clogged or the petcock screen is clogged like has already been said. With the hose off the petcock take the gas cap off, if gas starts to flow it is the vent hose, if not it is the petcock or screen. If I am reading your post wrong and you did have a good stream of gas out of the petcock the fuel filter is clogged or your fuel pump is bad. When you turn your ignition switch on you should hear the fuel pump click for a couple of seconds if no clicking the pump is most likely bad. The reason your bike started after sitting is because some fuel is getting by and filling the bowls but you are running it out before they can refill. You can also take the hose off at the carbs and see if you have good flow. Here is a post for an alternative fuel pump, an OEM is a couple hundred bucks last time I checked. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?86265-Mr-Gasket-Fuel-Pump-Conversion

  10. Lived in Draper till 4th grade, still Mr. Wendals service station. I went to Draper elementary school from 71 to 74 before moving to Chihowie.
  11. Bet it is owned by a vet and his friend is trying to sell it for him aka a scam.
  12. The R/R on these bikes have a single plug that feed the battery and the stator, The stator wires are white with the other plug in between and the battery wires are black and red.
  13. Two plugs: One right under the battery box, you should be able to get to it from the left side, it is white with three conductors, the second one is to the R/R itself right under the radiator.
  14. I don't really care as long as I get to ride. Where at in the Virginia mountains were you riding? I lived in Southwest Va till I joined the Navy. I have been riding for 47 years and I think I have been through every stage.
  15. If you can get one that uploads to the cloud so you still have it if the camera is destroyed.

  21. Glade y'all made it, thanks for hosting us!!!
  22. We will not even talk about the guy with the the camera.
  23. I just uploaded my Vogel pics to Photobucket and found out Photobucket no longer allows links from 3rd party sites unless you pay an annual subscription. I am not sure how I feel about this since all of my pcs I posted are linked to this account. I understand the rising cost of doing business but I am not paying what the amount they want to be able to host.
  24. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected and hope you are safe and dry.
