  1. Bobbi says no cold and no crowds, always wanted to see NYC at Christmas but have to keep my lovely bride happy.
  2. Will check out Amtrak sounds interesting.
  3. The DOD now has a policy that anyone traveling on orders has to stay on base first so that has screwed up space A for us retirees, but it is saving taxpayer dollars so I guess I cannot complain.
  4. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers, took me two years to settle with the lady that hit me head on so don't give up. I never thought I would own another bike after that, however remember you are part of the Venture Rider family regardless if you ever own another bike or not.
  5. Maxim was the first brand new bike I ever owned.
  6. If you want to take a short trip to Charleston we can knock it out.

  8. Use to live in Key West, be nice to see what has changed.
  9. You can get a new connector and rectifier from the site Earl posted, I have done that and for one bike I got a upgraded R/R and connector from SKYDOC. V/r, Joe Patrick
  10. Do like we did to the guys that kept stealing our TP in the Navy, we cut a roll of TTY paper in half and put it in the holder. That worked pretty well till one of the guys waives came to visit one duty night and had to use the head. She said she would never complain about TP again.
  11. I have no school and I am off from work Dec 22 to 2 Jan so what do we do? Some of the ideas we have discussed are: 1. New York City (never been but expensive) 2. Go see family (same ole thing) 3. Cruise (but is it too late) 4. Train across country (cost/comfort) 5. Something we have not thought of. Comments suggestions?

  13. In our thoughts and prayers,
  14. The thermsistor on the sending unit in the tank has went bad, you can replace the whole thing or just the thermistor. Here is a link to a previous thread about it. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?115479-fuel-reserve-light-and-count-down-timer
  15. Happy No Beard Day, hope it has been a great one.
  16. I swear school gets in the way of everything, my break is 11-17 Oct and was planning on going to the mountains. Thanks for setting this up hope all enjoy.
  17. How often does a belt wear out? Noticed it's not cheap either.
  18. Just remember you don't tug on Superman's cape
  19. I may have mentioned this before but the main reason I bought the Goldwing is my doctor told me with my diabetes I needed to cut down on the carbs so I sold one of my Ventures and bought the Gold Wing. The Wing has more pep than the 2nd Gen, not as much shifting in the mountains when pulling a trailer and easier to get around traffic in the city. It handles like a first gen slow and fast. Since my hip started hurting the Wing is a little more comfortable but not as much room as the 2nd Gen. I rode my 2nd Gen all week this week and I still really enjoy riding it but it seems to weigh a ton compared to the Wing.
  20. Saw an article on the New Gold Wing not sure I like it. http://carsalsobikes.com/2017/09/22/hondas-flagship-tourer-revealed-official-image-leak/
  21. Why are you selling off your bikes?
  22. So why does Florida have one definition for licensing and another for Insurance? http://www.leg.state.fl.us/Statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0300-0399/0320/Sections/0320.01.html The 2017 Florida Statutes Title XXIII MOTOR VEHICLES Chapter 320 MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSES View Entire Chapter 320.01 Definitions, general.—As used in the Florida Statutes, except as otherwise provided, the term: (1) “Motor vehicle” means: (a) An automobile, motorcycle, truck, trailer, semitrailer, truck tractor and semitrailer combination, or any other vehicle operated on the roads of this state, used to transport persons or property, and propelled by power other than muscular power, but the term does not include traction engines, road rollers, personal delivery devices as defined in s. 316.003, special mobile equipment as defined in s. 316.003, vehicles that run only upon a track, bicycles, swamp buggies, or mopeds.
