Thanks Here is a link that has a couple pics on, most are from the Good Guys show in Charlotte Last year. http://s760.photobucket.com/albums/xx248/etcswjoe/Our%20Cars/ I always took for granted the time we spent building these old cars with Dad and my brother. Always cherish this time and have a blast with the the 48. Was your Dad Navy also? We put a "Vintage Air" AC unit in the 46 and the 41 seems to work real well. http://www.vintageair.com/ Just curious what type of clip is under the front end or is it orginal?

Nice Car we have a 46 almost the same color and I do not know why but when we built it we put in a 350 also. I hope your Dad enjoys his "new" car as much as my Dad did ours. Make sure you bring it up to SW Va next year for our car & bike show in memory of my Dad. http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx248/etcswjoe/Our%20Cars/Sad_SamCrop.jpg

Could you have uploaded it awhile back and the activity is someone else downloading it? I searched the member list and it looks like he is a trail member.

Memorial day is good for me.

Will do, I am going to go talk to one of the local suppliers Monday to see if they can cut me a deal on the parts since we have bought from them before. I would like to find a schematic of the cell phone interface and see how much I could build it for. If I cannot find one I guess I will have to figure it out myself.

I am going to have to order a bunch of parts from mouser and make some of these adapters. I cannot believe they get 35.00 for 10.00 or less in parts:confused24:

Rear shock leaking
etcswjoe replied to terrysears's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have been thinking about writing Yamaha about the rear shock. How many people have done this before? -
A couple in were having trouble remembering things so they went to their doctor for checkups. The doctor told them that they were both physically fine and advised them to write things down to help them remember. Later that evening while watching television, the husband got up from his chair to go to the kitchen for a snack. He asked his wife if she wanted anything. "Could you bring me a bowl of ice cream?" she asked. "Sure," he replied. "Do you think you should write that down to remember it?" she asked. "No, I can remember that," he said. "I'd like some strawberries on it, too. Do you need to write that down?" she said. "No, I can remember that, too. Ice cream with strawberries," he said, becoming a little irritated. "I'd like some whipped cream on it, too. Can you remember all that? The doctor said you should write things down," she said. "For goodness sakes, I can remember that. I don't need to write it down. A bowl of ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream," he said, now more than a little irritated. Off he went to the kitchen. About 20 minutes later he returned with a plate of bacon and eggs. The wife stared at it for a moment and said, "Where's my toast?"

To All My Military Brothers
etcswjoe replied to nbowersock's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Cycle Visions has premade plates they are 30 bucks, however you can make one just like theirs with aluminum stock just not as fancy. I was planning on mounting on the passing lamp bar. You may also want to check that your base will allow it on a plate, I have been places if it looks removable they will not accept it. http://www.cyclevisions.com/chrome/military-sticker-plate/ Here is what someone did on another forum: http://media.photobucket.com/image/military%20sticker%20plate/jmohrmann/DODDecal.jpg -
I tried the do it yourself and let the insurance company work it out routine when I had my "little incident" I wound up getting a good lawyer (not one of those that advertise on TV) and it still took two years.

If your charging system checks out take a good look at all your cables. You may have a nick or chaff in a cable or corrosion on a connection. Also check any items you have that can receive power with the switch off they may be drawing current continuously.

Progressive and Geico can be a little cheaper, however make sure you check the coverage. They both quoted me around $100 a year however when I brought all the coverage amounts up to match Allstate they were about $100 a year more than Allstate. Allstate also gives you a real good discount for MSF course and another discount if you belong to a MC Club. I think several others do too. Alot of it depends on your driving record too.

WD40 will displace water however will draw dust, if you use a contact cleaner make sure it is safe for plastics (they will say). When you clean switch contacts don't use a file or sandpaper it will score the contacts. A light emery cloth or even a pencil eraser will work if you can get to the contact. The drawback with physically cleaning contacts is you can bend the contact arm and it will not make proper contact (depends on type of switch).
