  1. Glad to see everyone we both had a great time.
  2. Great pic and nice looking bike. Model or full scale railroad museum? My bike is down for awhile so no waterfalls for me Happy hunting all.
  3. I would like to thank everyone for the coments and well wishes. Emily and I seem to have come out of it unscathed. The insurance adjuster came by this morning and I had no clue that such a small crash could cost so much, it may be declared a total loss I should know by next Friday. If it is totaled I will see if I can buy it back as salvage and I will be in the Market for another RSV if not I will be going out with the list of parts I need to buy.
  4. We will keep you both in our prayers.
  5. I did not ask, however she wanted to ride back home with me but I made her ride in the car with her Mom so I guess that answers that question. I may have been guilty of all three.. to use an overused saying "I hope others can learn from my mistakes.
  6. Thanks we still may drive up to Greenville and meet up for lunch. The bike road ok on the way home but the wheel did hit the grill hard enough to crack it so it probably did damage the forks. The insurance company wants me to get an estimate before the adjuster looks at it.
  7. Got home early today and my daughter wanted to go for a ride, not 20 mins into the ride a car stopped real quick and smack. My fault and I got a ticket for going too fast for conditions. Not a scratch on the car I hit. My daughter hit her knee and elbow when the bike fell over. What I learned. 1. Thank God for steel toe boots otherwise mine foot would either be broke or gone. 2. Engine and Bag rails are worth the cost. 3. Full gear keeps away road rash. 4. 2 seconds behind a vehicle is too close for me. 5. You can never have too much breaking practice. The State Trooper and witnesses said I probably could not have done anything different to prevent it, however there is always something. Any suggestions on what I could or should have been doing and don't be afraid to hurt my feelings. Looks like I am not going to be doing any riding for awhile and dealing with insurance.
  8. Watch out for wildlife especially deer and small critters. Take it slow till you get use to it and always expect something to be in your way around the next corner.
  9. Ok, I found it it was on a diffrent site: Cut a piece of 1 or 2mm thick stainless steel to fit in the inside bottom of the trunk and another one 3mm thick to fit the underside bolted or welded to the trunk mount. Put a piece of neoprene between the trunk and the lower piece. Drill and tap matching holes through the trunk and bottom piece and there you go.
  10. I like this one. http://oldbluejacket.com/inthenavynow.htm
  11. Crap I am old... Do you remember playing cards printed underneath Pepsi bottle caps?
  12. Seems way underpowered. Only one horsepower?
  13. I may be losing my mind but I swear I saw a post somewhere that showed a fix for the broken bracket. It may have been elsewhere so I will continue to look and when I find it I will post it.
  14. Thanks for the heads up, if I recall correctly someone on here has a fix for it. I will search for the thread when I get home unless someone else has posted it by then.
  15. Ok, maybe Ice Cream was not such a good idea , however knowing some of the folks on the sites affection for Dairy Queen I thought it might boost Intrest. :ICshocked:
  16. Happy International World Thinking Day
  17. Reminds me of a country song....I got a brand new girlfriend.
  18. Started out this morning and it was 62 at 7:00 am so the jackets came off quick. This one is my daughters idea: You and the bike in front of a museum and extra points if you are eating ice cream.
  19. I have been doing photography as a hobby for over 30 years and one of these days I may catch up with Bobbie in the amount of pics taken. I enjoy sharing the pics I take at our gatherings to share with everyone.
  20. Had a good ride :12101:today at least a dozen barbershops with poles within 25 miles, wound up driving 60 to find one:detective: out side of the limit. Est in 1965 so it is close to old fashioned :grandma:and does have a pole. My daughter took the pics.
