  1. Well I finally got everything back together, and what it only took me 7 hours!!! Next time I think I will have Yammer come over and help me with mine too.
  2. Well I finished changing my rear tire and lubing the drive shaft and rear end. What a pain in the butt getting the drive shaft in is. Used Moly 60 on everything and I found out fast orange will get it off you skin. Lesson learned cut your fingernails before using disposable gloves. I used a ratchet tie down to lower, raise up and hold the wheel in place since I was doing everything by myself and it worked really well. Had some questions and Ruffy patiently answered all of them for me and gave me some pointers. Now I just have to put the mufflers and saddlebags back on.
  3. As soon as someone near Charleston gets one let me know I would like to see one before I buy.
  4. With the extra gas cans in the saddlebags is there any chance they may rupture if it gets really hot, it's been over a hundred all week down here and I had a soda bottle swell to the size of a football in my saddle bag and just curious if the gas cans would do the same thing and if the fumes would hurt the plastic?
  5. Would a gas tank on the lid or in your trailer and a fuel line with a quick disconnect going to a threeway valve into your fuel line work? Would you need to have a booster pump in the trailer. If it would work you could go 350 miles or more before you needed to stop.
  6. I will trade you 93 with a 115 heat index today.
  7. I sent one of my sailors for some elbow grease once, he went all over the ship asking for it. Boy was he po'ed when he figured it out.
  8. Looking forward to it. Might even take the day off and right up with you a ways. Joe
  9. I had a strange think happen yesteday I looked at my trip readout and I had went 175 miles and the fuel light still had not came on, it did not come on till I was pulling in my garage at 190 miles, must be the heat because I usally go around 160 before the fuel light comes on.
  10. I like it, I may just have have to do that to one of my 99's

  13. If the trailer weighs in at 455 empty, you would really be pusing it loaded.
  14. When you are in Iceland make sure you visit the Blue Lagoon. http://www.bluelagoon.com/
  15. I had the same thing happen to my 83 seat and I took it to the kitchen sink and washed it in Dawn Dish Detergent and it came off great.
  16. I live in Goose Creek we have plenty of Geese to chase.....
  17. I have two 99's and the Carbs seem to be very reliable, one had to be adjust last oil change very little. The height of the bike is not bad, it fits my 5'4" daughter quite well and it has not been lowered. Good luck on your purchase, if you don't have one in mind make sure you check out the classified section.
  18. Congrats, Now you can spoil them and send them home jacked up on snickers and Mt Dew,
  19. I have not used a rest stop in years, I always prefer to pull off and stop at a service station or restaurant just feel safer. I understood the need for rest stops years ago but I think they have past their usefulness. I do like the "Rest stops" in Florida and Illinois that are Oasis, they are privately ran and have Gas, food, etc.
  20. I saw one similar to the first pic at Good Guys Car show last year in Charlotte.
  21. My daughter lives in Cape and you just have to know where the little mom and pop places are.
  22. Thanks I will take the rest off and lube after I get the tire back.
  23. I just took my rear tire off also, what all should I remove from the wheel before I take it in to get the new tire put on?
  24. I am still curious why you were riding on a tank?
