How LOW can YOU go?!
etcswjoe replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
We were coming back form Deals gap last year and the fuel light came on so we jumped off the interstate on a road we always took and knew for a fact there where several gas stations, however we found out none of them were open at 2:00 in the morning so 47 miles later we finally found an open one and put in 5.4 gallons of gas. I do not want to do that again. -
Why would anyone need to buy a bent fork tube?
-
I see it and I am in South Carolina, did you not see it when you posted it?
-
I would see one quiet often, however now that I am looking I can't seem to find one. I may just have to ride up to one of the drivers shops and ask.
-
What's the longest ride you have done and how does it do on the long haul?

Just heard back from Dunlop on the date code and here is what they had to say: Good morning Joe, Thank you for taking the time to contact Dunlop Motorcycle & ATV. Look for the letters DOT. (this means department of transportation and any tire that runs on the street must have one) DOT will only be on one side of the tire . After DOT there will be an alpha-numeric sequence approximately 10-12 characters long. The last four digits of this sequence is the date. It will be stamped....may be in an oval. Example: 3409.....will be the 34th week of 2009 In case you find a tire with 3 digits, it means the tire was made prior to 2000. Starting with the year 2000 four digits are now used.. Should you need further information or assistance, please call Dunlop Consumer Affairs @ 800-845-8378 or e-mail us. regards, Virginia Gallant Consumer Affairs Representative Consumer Affairs Dunlop Motorcycle & ATV Tire Division Goodyear/Dunlop Tires N.A., Ltd PO Box 1109 Buffalo, NY 14240 Ph: (800) 845-8378 Fax: (716) 879-8425

how many miles with no valve adjustment??
etcswjoe replied to kyle's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I need to do both my 99's one has 34k the other 30K so I will be doing it myseldf since I do not want to shell out the money to do two at once, Is the Gasket below the right one? I looked at the price of shims and they are not cheap either, hopefully I will not need to adjust many. Mic Mutes have no bearing on it at all, just wanted to make sure I had the right cables.

I sent you a PM, once we get a date and time set, if anyone else needs it done maybe we can just make an event out of it. I am assuming you have stock antennas and connectors?
-
The one in front is the banged up one and the one in the rear is the replacement. I think Art has him beat out, we rode last week and were just talking about you. Give Art a shout he will be glad to hear from you. I just became a grandpa last week so I have another little one to spoil but I get to send mine home at the end of the day. Congrats again.

I just replaced my rear wheel and my axle appears to be straight and true. Interested to see what others have to say.
-
If my memory serves me right you were talking about this last time we rode, gald it finally came through time for a side car now.
-
I have a meter and can tune it if you want to meet up somewhere, I think Sleeprhawk is putting new antennas on his bike so we might alll be able to get together.

Debit cards draw directly from your bank account sometimes called check cards some people also have the debit cards tied to a line of credit so they can use them like a charge card if there is not enough money in the account. -

They only do pre-authorizations with Debit cards in SC, so I always select credit. They also have big stickers on the pumps that tell you this. -
If you can't get the converter in time you can always use relays.

Today is also Peach Ice Cream Day, however I had Raspberry Chocolate Chunk from Brusters.

I think I may have misunderstood what he was asking for. You want to search for three letters. Like Freebird said you can use Google ie hid site:venturerider.org CMU site:venturerider.org TCI site:venturerider.org RLU site:venturerider.org Doing this will bring up every instance of the term under the site and you can do this for other sites as well.

There are several sites that list acronyms. Here is one of them. http://d-tips.com/Tools/toolBox/acronyms.aspx Instead of a search maybe a page in the tech library for acronyms?

intercom problems
etcswjoe replied to shamlaw's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Do you have side tone? If not try the passenger plug and if you do try to transmit on the CB if you can there is a bad wire in the cable going from the driver connection to the radio?
