  1. \ What did you do to that poor tip on that Iron, and you call yourself a 2M tech.
  2. I feel you pain, I am just getting over the crud. Wish you the best and a speedy recovery.
  3. Another $12.00 well spent.
  4. You had a birthday?
  5. If you do not use flux and the wire is dirty it will do that, you can use an anti-wicking tool.
  6. Too hot for circuit boards, great for doing wire splices. If you are really careful it may work, I have a tendency to be very picky when it comes to soldering.
  7. Let us know you Itinerary I may ride up from Charleston.
  8. Here is a decent iron and it is fairly reasonable. You never want to use a gun on a circuit board too much power. Use alcohol and an acid brush to clean the area to be soldered. Make sure the tip is clean and properly prepared. Alsway use flux only rosin core never acid flux. If it is a cold solder joint you will want to re-flow the solder. If you think there is corrosion under the joint use a vacuum extractor or solder week remove the solder and put new on be careful not to measle the board. Remove excess flux with alcohol and the acid brush again. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3086619

    Take a Seat

When I was first in the military (I looked the part back then) I was driving home in my pickup on a long empty stretch of Interstate when I saw a biker on the side of the road tinkering with his bike so I stopped and gave him a ride the 20 miles to the nearest gas station. This dude was big and coverd head to toe in tatoos. He said he had been there about an hour and I was the only one to even slow down, he asked why I picked him up and I told him hey your a biker so you can't be half bad. He used the pay phone at the gas station (no cell phones then) and said bye and thanks when his friend picked him up, I went to pay for gas and turns out he had payed for my gas and bought me breakfast too.
  15. I would be in for one or two depending on price.
  16. Can you post some pics?
  17. I grew up in a civil war era house and when we removed one chimney it was fine when we removed the big one it caused the second story floor to warp. Remove the flooring check it out, with a house this old you really never know till you jump in.
  18. I may be grasping at straws, however is there a possibility that the seal in your swingarm is bad and it's finial drive oil coming up through the tube?
  19. Are you sure it is oil? I thought I had an oil leak but it was coolant form the freeze plug under the fake fins. It just looked like oil going through all the gunk on the bike when it hit the ground. I don't remember your earlier post on this so please refresh my memory (sucks getting old).
  20. We use to have a stove you could burn wood or coal in that was used to heat the wash water. It was a warm morning laundry stove had a coil on the inside with pipe fittings at the top and bottom. http://image66.webshots.com/566/1/89/47/2122189470104673048egKSXD_ph.jpghttp://infoark.org/InfoArk/Sustainability/Mother%20Earth%20News/70/MEN_CD/mendemo/menarch/archive/issues/025/025_images/025-072-01dwg1.gif
  21. Just a thought If all your bars disapperar I would think it would be the guage not the sending unit.
  22. Is it true you do not need to know code anymore?
  23. I head an ad on the radio for a store called coals, maybe that's where you get it from?\ Seems like firepalce dealers here in Charleston sale coal.
  24. It's a yearly payment, it helps Don cover the cost of running the site and other admin items. I belong to a couple of actuall "clubs" that I pay more than 12 dollars a year for that I have not got near as much benifit from as this one. Other than being the most sarcastic group I have every belonged to (I am in good company) these are some of the best folks you will ever meet. If I needed help or had a question 24/7 I can get an answer. I usally ask before I do something new because someone on here has done it and most of the time have a tip to make it alot eaiser. I would say there area great number of folks that are just like you, they joined and their first post was an issue and just like your case folks answered up with suggestions. I hope you decided to stay and get to know these folks I promise you it will be the best 12 dollars a year you ever spent.
  25. We burned coal in our garage when I was growing up, however it seems like coal heat has come along way in the last 40 years.
