Glad you are here to tell us about it and I can feel for you it took me 10 years after my wreck to buy another bike, never did stop riding just could not bring myself to have one of my own. Like others have said stick around its a great group of folks.

Great tips everyone I think I used about everyone, I made it up to the mountains and regardless of what my brother says it's still hot. I did loose on of the fork deflectors on the way up and I think the extra wind wind actually made it feel hotter. One thing Odd I checked my coolant when I left and it was fine but after 500 miles yesterday it was low, no puddles or noticable leaks. can the extreme heat cause you to loose coolant?

If I left at 0600 tomorrow I could be in the mountains by 1000 and off course I have AC I pull the zipper down on the jacket.

Thinking about taking off tomorrow and just riding all weekend, however Mr. Weather Man is saying it's going to top 100 degrees even in the mountains. Have not rode in 100 degree temps since last summer so I ask is anyone else planning on riding this weekend in the heat or is everyone going to just chill out indoors?

Not on my 99 but you are correct it is a stock seat, old age sucks .

I used a bolt and just worked them back and forth till they came out. Would like to see how your wheels turned out and what it cost to have them done. -
I belive the seat pan is the same but I will measure tonight when I get home. My wife does not like the pillow seats because she says it it too wide but she like the stock seat.

I got back on a Venture after my Dad passed for a little therapy and with my bike and most of all this site It has been the best theraphy anyone could ask for plus it saves several hundred dollars an hour on a shrink and after this thread I realize I have not said thanks latley so to Don and everyone elese on here THANKS

We have fun and if you don't ruffle feathers now and then you ain't doing it right. I have stepped on toes and gotten mine stepped on to but at the end of it all we get on our bikes and meet up at the local DQ

I did a US search on Craigslit and did not see any going for more than 4200 but they were not as low miles or in good a shape as yours was. When I totaled my 83 my lawyer went to 3 dealers and got apprasials so that is what they went by.
