  1. So where is the picture and what's the next target ?
  2. I would but it is not on sale till this spring. Talked with my insurance company and I am good there, looks like Hertz has the best deal so far $307 after taxes and fees for the week.
  3. Ok why has nobody got a halloween decoration yet? I have an excuse my bike is torn apart. I guess I could push it to my neighbors house.
  4. Going to visit my Grandkids in Illinois for Thanksgiving and I am considering renting a luxury Car or Minivan to make the 12 hour each way trip a little more comfortable (would ride but my daughter and her boyfriend are going too). I have never rented a car for pleasure so I have never had to deal with all the diffrent add ons. I have heard that my insurance will cover some damage and that credit cards will cover some items but I am not sure guess I should give them a call. The other thing is which rental companies do not charge per mile if you leave the area. Enterprise charges $.25 a mile if you are going further than the adjoining states. Any advice/tips are appriciated.
  5. If I remember correctly this happend before to someone and it turned out to be another page they visited not VR.org.
  6. I bought a 20 dollar one at walmart and just added what it did not have: Basic First Aid items: - Ace bandage - Air splint - Anti-bacterial ointment - Bandage Tape - Bandages - assorted sizes - Chemical (instant) heat and cold packs - Eye drops (for wind dried eyes, allergies, or to rinse out a foreign object) - Gauze - Razor blade or pocket knife - Scissors - Surgical gloves - Safety pins - Telfa pads to cover road rash (they don't stick to wounds) - Triangular bandages (for sling, although a belt works too!) - Tweezers (pull out glass and other items embedded in skin, ticks) - Wet dry towels - Water (to rinse injury) Medical items: The little vending machine type packs - Allergy - non-drowsy (Benadryl for air, plants and insects) - Antacid (Tums) - Anti-Diarrheal (Pepto-Bismol, Imodium A-D) - Aspirin (in case of heart attack) - Glucose tablets (for diabetics) - Ibuprofen or other type of anti-inflammatory/pain reliever Comfort items: - Sunburn lotion - Sunscreen

  12. I rode all day last winter in 20 degree weather and did bit feel cold all day, stopped in to give blood that evening and my temp was 90 they would not take my blood and said I had hypothermia I had no clue so I guess my point is just be very careful even if you do feel warm.
  13. Rules out what I was thinking, I am going to have to do some digging on this one. Did you try the passenger PTT yet?
  14. Have you noticed if the Tx indicator comes on when you push the button to change channels?
  15. That's a new one on me. Does the TX indicator come one when you hit the push to talk or does it just change channels?
  16. Thanks guys I will try the impact driver. Which stator and regulator shouold I buy?
  17. Wish you the best sorry to hear your hanging your helmet up.
  18. It actually drops more at higher RPMS, I decided to go ahead and take off the cover and replace the stator, yeah good luck with that I tried the trick of heating the screws up to melt the loctite but they still do not want to budge. I am to the point were I am willing to pay someone to remove it for me (any takers ?). I also think I am going to order one of the upgrades any suggestions?
  19. Had very little crude around the plug and it was only slightly dirty inside I used Cramoline to clean it. It was a pain to get to, I really want to save soldering as a last resort.
  20. It's PMS already setting in, need something to combat the winter blues.
  21. OK folks I want to go to the East TN to camp out next so I need to fix this quick. Back in March I started out to Norfolk on my bike got about 75 miles away and it stopped charging had the wife bring me the battery out of my other bike so I could get back home. Got back home and the bike was not charging took all the connectors apart cleaned them and the bike was charging just fine went another thousand miles and the bike was fine until I rode it to work one day and it was dead by the time I got to work. Charged the battery at work to get me back home, when I got home it was charging I checked the rectifier and it seemed to be a little out of specs so I replaced it with one Steel Horse Cowboy sent me (thanks again). Well today I pulled my trailer around for about 60 miles and I noticed at the red light I was not charging however when I turned off my driving lights it was charging again got it home and it was still charging but only about 13 volts. I have an extra stator (that Steel Horse Cowboy sent me) but I would like some confirmation before I dig into it. The voltages test fine when I have it loose but its not under load at that point. Thanks all and it sure is nice to be riding again. Joe
  22. Prayers and wishing him a speedy recovery.
  23. I think I understand what he was trying to do, he probally did not want to get a converter for the bike to run the 4 wire vice 5 wire or did not know one exsited.
