I have a 2006 RSV with just over 12,000 miles. Purchased this last year and I'm the 3rd owner. Seems to run great and I don't have any complaints. I will admit that I'm not a gear head but can tell when something sounds different or is not right. Got the bike out 2 weeks ago and ran with no issues. Was able to get it out yesterday for a quick run. Noticed this morning that I have 2 drips from the bike. 1 from the first ride and 1 from yesterday. I looked under the bike and I see 4 hoses and I believe they are the carberator air intake. 2 of the hoses are dirty; 1 more so than the other. Have not tore into it yet as I'm hoping to get some help.

Got mine out on Saturday. I have to admit I was a little nervous. I bought this bike last July. What can I say, Big Bike, More Expensive Bike, Can't Afford to do Something Stupid Bike. Called my buddy and he told me he had been there and done that before. Pulled it out of the garage and sat her in the sun for about 3 hours and than started her up. Ran her for about 5 minutes and checked out the electrical (lights, signals, horn and of course the radio and no I did not have a tape to try out the cassette) and shut her down. Put the helmet and gloves on and hit the road. Took about 1 hour ride to shake the cobwebs off. To quote Bryan "Man I Love My RSV". Checking the schedule with my coordinator as I want to come to the SE Iowa Meet and Eat.

Welcome! This is a great place to hang out for an hour or two. Awesome looking bike!! -
Sorry to hear about your leak Big Tom. I feel your pain. I have plenty of insulation in the attic. When I put a new roof on I replaced the gutters. I told them not to use location of existing gutters because they do not drain properly. What happens is that it ice builds up. If snow covers the ice it will melt under the snow. I clean off the snow and take my heat gun up and melt and carefully chip ice out of the gutters. After a rain you can go up on my roof and see water sitting in the gutters. This was several years ago when all this has taken place. I'm going to fix it this spring once and for all.

Was going to jump in the shower this morning to get ready for church. Long story short noticed that I had a leak. Determined that it was coming from the roof which means I had another ice jam to take care of. Still makes me mad that the company I hired and paid good money to install my gutters did not do anything but hang them where the old ones were. If I wanted a crummy job I would have done it my self! Boy do I feel better now...

Never road one but I like them! I have told my wife that someday I will own one...It would be hard to believe that it is smoother than my Venture!

There were two nuns One of them was known as Sister Mathematical (SM) , and the other one was known as Sister Logical (SL ). It is getting dark and they are still far away from the convent. SM: Have you noticed that a man has been following us for the past thirty-eight and a half minutes? I wonder what he wants. SL: It's logical. He wants to **** us. SM: Oh, no! At this rate he will reach us in 15 minutes at the most! What can we do? SL: The only logical thing to do of course is to walk faster.. A little while later... SM: It's not working. SL: Of course it's not working. The man did the only logical thing. He started to walk faster, too. SM: So, what shall we do? At this rate he will reach us in one minute. SL: The only logical thing we can do is split. You go that way and I'll go this way. He cannot follow us both. So the man decided to follow Sister Logical. Sister Mathematical arrives at the convent and is worried about what has happened to Sister Logical. Then Sister Logical arrives. SM: Sister Logical! Thank God you are here! Tell me what happened! SL: The only logical thing happened. The man couldn't follow us both, so he followed me SM: Yes, yes! But what happened then? SL: The only logical thing happened. I started to run as fast as I could and he started to run as fast as he could. SM: And? SL : The only logical thing happened. He reached me.. SM : Oh, dear! What did you do? SL : The only logical thing to do. I lifted my dress up. SM : Oh, Sister! What did the man do? SL: The only logical thing to do. He pulled down his pants. SM: Oh, no! What happened then? SL : Isn't it logical, Sister? A nun with her dress up can run faster than a man with his pants down. And for those of you who thought it would be dirty,

Windshield Advice Needed
BG Hawks replied to BG Hawks's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Sorry...I ride an 06 Venture. -
Looking for a new windshield for the bike. I still have the original installed but want something else. I have heard that they can delaminate if they are cut down. So far I have seen the windshield from Slip Strreamer or Clearview. Any thoughts or preference on those two? Open to something else as well. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Well, I went to put the bike away for the winter and learned a few things. Last year when I owned the vstar I pulled the seat to hook up the tender and found that I had no battery. Today I pulled the side cover off thinking I was so smart and found fuses. I than pulled the other cover off and found the over flow for the coolant. It was now time to read the manual and discovered that I needed to pull the seat off. Well, since I had the owners manual out I thought that I would look into why the radio or Ipod keeps going in and out. Well most of you probably know by now that the CB radio was on causing the music to go in and out. Oh well, lesson learned; can't wait for spring!

Leveling links, not for me!
BG Hawks replied to Midrsv's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I will admit that I'm a new member to the Venture Riders as well as only having my 06 Venture for about a month. I saw the leveling links on Diamond R Accessories website and spoke to a buddy of mine who rides a HD Ultra about them. His advice was to leave the bike as is and learn about it. I had just moved up from a Vstar 1100 and was quite suprised at the weight of the bike 2 up riding. I will tell you after the inital shock i can't even tell when my wife is back there. My thought is now that I'm use to it I could not see making a change on how it performs.
