Those are actual size fish. The buck in the first pic went 29-30 inches. Click on the bar and you will see that the pic itself was resized from a full screen pic to fit the forum post.

As a lifetime member of ABATE and CMRO I am of the belief that you should wear whatever gear you wish or do not wish to wear. It is all about personal choice and not being told by a govenment pinhead that you need to follow his rules because he thinks he needs to make decisions about your safety. I wear a helmet, leather and riding boots. That is MY CHOICE. I also wear a seatbelt in the car. Being ex police I have seen what happens when seatbelts or motorcycle helmets are not used. I still believe that a person has a choice in how they live their lives and chose any precautions that they feel comfortable with.

I do alot of steelhead fishing in Ohio. We get some wicked winter seasons on Lake Erie. Heres how I dress when fishing and I also adapt it to bike riding in the cold. Layer up. Layers trap air and keep you warm. Stay away from cotton clothing. Cotton holds moisture and will chill you to the bone when it cools off. Use polypropylene, fleece and wool. Polypropylene or silk underwear. Sportsmansguide.com actually sells a nice silk or poly assortment on their site. A poly foot liner with a wool sock over it. The liner wicks moisture away and the wool stays warm when wet from sweat. A fleece pullover under your jacket. A scarf made or wool or synthetic material. It is amazing what a simple scarf can do. I wear a foot liner, wool sock, fleece pants under my waders. I wear poly underwear on top and bottom if it is real cold and on the top if not. Fleece under a jacket. Now to the subject of Gortex. Leather does not breathe. Gortex does. Gortex jackets are nice. Notice a trend here? Wick the moisture away. We wade streams that are right at or beyond freezing temps. I fish all day in these conditions dressed correctly.

Thanks for posting this. Hope she is OK. Good thing to think about when riding.

Thanks Cal. I was amazed at how the bike slithered like if was on bananna peels. No tire squeal or noise of any kind. I just kept moving my body back and forth to compensate for the slide. Maybe my motocross days kicked in. This really scared me today and I have been riding for 40 years. Thanks for the kind words.

I have an Angel watching me because she kept me from getting killed or badly injured today. Took a ride throught Ohio and Pa with friends. We were heading to Fatboys biker hangout we like to ride to and get lunch when the weather is nice. We made a left turn onto a two lane highway and then approached a road that would be a right turn. I was looking at the leaves, a pretty girl was smiling at me from a car or I was just taking in the enjoyment of the ride. I WAS NOT PAYING ATTENTION! Woody activated his right turn signal and I missed it. The next thing I knew I had a Road Star turning in front of me! Life slowed to a crawl. I locked up both wheels in a panic manuver. The Royal Star was sliding back and forth like a snake on a griddle. I knew Woody could see me and I wanted him to just get out of the way. I could see the accident coming. Woody brought his years of riding experience from somewhere and gunned the Harley out of my way. I watched him hoping for a chance to just slip behind him. How we missed each other I will never know. I just made it behind him in a crossing pattern. I am 56 and on heart medication. I wonder if I should even keep riding sometimes.

I agree that running the speed limit keeps you out of trouble. I usually drive under the limit. I am also a former police officer. I have seen the abuse someone can do with a little authority. Gauley Bridge and Summerville are notorious for being a speed trap. I was just asking about an alternative route from the locals.

A friend and I are planning a spring trip to Talcott WV down RT 16 from the Ohio River. I am trying to avoid Summerville and Gauley Bridge. Gauley Bridge has 750 resisdents. They write more speeding tickets than anywhere in the state or WV. They write MORE than the state capitol city. I would be coming from the Cleveland Ohio area and want to avoid these spots. Any suggestions from our WV brothers? I want to take 16 down so I can see the folks and turn off before the traps. 16 is also just a great road. Thanks, Geo

Sheep skin seat covers for our bikes here.
Galapagos replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in General Tech Talk
I get the IKEA off eBay. I can cut two seat covers out of one skin. I always have some smaller pads left for my freinds that ride Sportsters as passengers. -

That is very near my house. Hope Mr. Hoch recovers. -
My best friend Steve is 6'7" and I am 5'8". He was my best man and I was his in return at our weddings. Steve always said we were brothers by different Mothers. I always thought he was the milkman and I was the paperboy. I am not out to be funny or steal your post. That saying just reminds me of that and gives me a smile. I wish you a smile also. I hope the best for Mamma Adkins and my wishes are things turn out well.

Anybody around Ashtabula Ohio that has time and a carbtune to help this pilgrim out? I know where Freebird is. (Hint, hint) I bought a gauge kit to sync my carbs and I do not like it. I could be near Medina Sunday at the Log Cabin Shop. (Hint,Hint) Freebird
