The only reason to run higher octane is to avoid the pinging of the valves if it doesn't ping don't pay the money for the higher octane

Clutch fan check the clutch fan........it will make it roar and suck up some of the power since it is low on power to begin with because of the 6 cylinder. I had one and thought I would have to push it sometimes.

Is it a Limited with fuel injection. Also parts aren't really that hard to find if you look and know a few people. I also have an old goldwing (1978 1000)and really haven't had muvh trouble with parts. If you buy it and ever need help with parts let me know

I have needed mine three times in the 30 years or so I have been carrying it. It changed a bad situation into a non situation.

My Guess is that you are wrong. It may surprise you how many people carry a weapon. If you think the Police can protect you you are mistaken they don't protect they investigate...... big difference It is also to bad that when these mental people go off and start shooting people that someone isn't carrying a weapon on them to put a stop to it. For those that think carrying a weapon is silly tell me this. We are setting in a McDonalds with our families and a doped up crazy person comes in with a gun and is going to start shooting everyone, do you want me to pull my gun and protect your wife and kids?...............hummm a little different when it's you isn't it. How many people would be saved if there was a person with a pistol to fire back.

The state of Illinois makes me a criminal, I still carry. Remember the term "Police Protection" is an oxymoron

I just bypassed the side with the 2 wires and put a on/off switch to complete the circuit It won't start without the key on and the button pushed but at $200 for a new one that will go out again in 1 year I like it this way better -
Close Mike but it's Eureka

Why would you shift a motorcycle without using the clutch? What is the reason? It also can not be good for it In a big truck it is fine since the tranny isn't synchronized but on a bike you will tear out the patronizers if you keep it up I also still do not understand why you would want to

I rode through that rain Wednesday night and Thursday morning. It really came down Wednesday evening and forced me to the motel. Lots of water on the roads and when I hit some in construction when it was dark and the water came up over the windshield I figured it was time to pull off for the night.

Now wait a minute it sounds as if you have been visiting my wife from your conversations:whistling:

Can't Imagine no Motorcycle's but My wife and I have been married 34 years and we have a bunch of interests that we both love: We both love boating and the water, we both love college football and tailgating at the games and are season ticket holders to the college we support. We love to travel even if not by Bike. We love to play cards with our friends, (you youngins probably don't play cards) there are some other little things that we do together that keep us busy together. I guess we are friends first bikers second.

OK I am leaving the Peoria, Il area Tuesday Morning the 21st to ride up to St Paul, MN to reconnect with a sister I have not seen in 31 years. I was wondering if anyone can suggest roads to ride up that way that are great for riding. I am planning on leaving around 6:30 am and do not need to be there until around 7:00 pm so want to enjoy my ride up. Doesn't have to be exactly the best way but want to see the sights on my way up and back. I will be returning Thursday the 23rd. Anyone not doing anything and want to ride a little bit let me know where to meet you and you and I can ride a ways up before you have to turn around. Any info will be great. Thanks Rick

Rick Haywood replied to DesertRider's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I went from Avons to E3's on mine and I love the way the bike handles now. Before it was unstable in the curves. Seems it wanted to fight me. I have got 6,000 miles on my e3's so far and are wearing well. I ride a RSV
