  1. the good news is as dependable as these bikes are we will be able to buy lower mileage ones for the next 10-12 years and then ride them for 6-8 years so I'm good for about the next 18 years
  2. Don, I rode a GS750 Suzuki for 7 0r 8 years. The wife and I put 90,000 miles on that bike without any major trouble. I had to put an altenator in wasn't very much money and took me a little over 1 hour to do. Other than that the rest was just taking care of the bike. Oil, filters, chain lube and chain, did have to put rear sprocket on after about 70,000 miles. we rode the heck out of it and I loved the bike. Really no difference between the gs650 and the 750. If the price is right I don't think he can go wrong for his first bike.
  3. Rebuilding a wreck 2007 venture i bought
  4. I sold a trailer on ebay on a buy it now listing doe $700. The guy who bought it never asked me any questions about the trailer but paid for it it full when all that was required was a $200 deposit. Now here is my concern: he has never bought anything on ebay according to his rating of 0 feedback and 0 purchases/ I checked my paypal account and the money is there but it says I might not be able to collect it for 20 days. anything I have ever sold the money was available right then. Has anyone ever seen this? should I worry, is there anyway he can pickup the trailer and then scam me? Just being cautious or should I wory Thanks Rick

  10. No it is not cracked
  11. I cut mine down to fit (the rubber pieces) and placed the curved part on the top of the handlebars and it then pushes up on the fairing to keep it from vibrting and moving. I'll try and get you a pic
  12. I have had 1 1/2 inch risers on mine for 100,000 miles. It did crack the chrome ignition cover just a little but unless you look for it you can't tell. And at $40 I can afford to replace it every couple of years if needed.
  13. No problems just have 142,,000 miles on it. I won't have any costs in doing this after I sell some parts off the 07. I paid very little for the wrecked bike. My Mm is time for rotors, calipers and bearings this way I end up with a bike with 30,000 miles on it for basically 0 dollars
  14. Hello everyone. I finally broke down and spent a few dollars on a wrecked bike. It is a 2007 Midnight. It just has some fairing damage and lowers are gon and one bag is cracked. I am going to remove all the plastics from my 2000 MM Edition and put it on the 2007. I will have some parts for sale this winter so if you all need anything off the bike let me know and I will hold it for you. I am going to start taking the parts off the wrecked one in about 2-3 weeks ,
  15. The brackets for the lower wind deflectors that mount on the bottom of the passing lights. Anyone have a set laying around. Would take complete set with the deflectors also if someone has one. Thanks
  16. Do the headlights come on, does everything else work. If it was the ignition switch it wouldn't start and run then die. Also if the tank is full the bike will run even if the fuel pump is bad, I also hate to ask the next question but I have to. It does have enough gas in the tank. Also switch the thing over to reserve and see if it will run then.
  17. if i am running interstate speeds 75-85 mph by the speedo I go to reserve at around 140 miles myself so it all depends on where you are riding. On 2 lanes just riding around at lower speeds I have went has far as 200 miles before reserve
  18. Maybe every other year would work better? It is a bunch of work to put one on and by having it every other year it would give people a better chance of coming. Also some people do not have the luxury of 3 or 4 weeks vacation and they might not want to soend what they have going to a rally every year. So we could have one in 2017 and see how that goes. Or maybe have it the opposite years of Vogel. Just a thought
  19. Bad regulator check the voltage running and see what it says. Also it could just be a bad battery just be because it is only 2 years old doesn't mean it is good. And by the way the regulator is easy to change and takes about 10 minutes, Good Luck
  20. Where is the list of Hotels for the rally? I made reservations and forgot :bang head:what hotel?
  21. 135,000 miles on mine and no major problems, Regulator, Ignition switch and clutch spring. Other than that pretty much change oil every 4,000 miles and ride. I ride about 25,000 a year and do not want or need problems. +1 on the E3s
