OK I stand Corrected, I took a few of the posts as to say It was really foolish for me to spend $140 or so on something that isn't any better or different than one that costs $80 other than it looks nicer in the box.

OK Got another question, My bike seems to have a viberation of sort under throttle. When just cruising it is smooth but when you accelerate it has that old Harley feel. I don't know how else to explain it other than it isn't smooth. I changed the plugs and put in new air filter over the winter and other than that nothing has been done. It runs smooth when it idles and if you rev it up in nuetral it doesn't miss. I was wondering if maybe you guys think it could be one of the diaphrams or maybe something else. Also mileage has dropped from 41 to about 35 mpg but also remember I more than likely ran it harder trying to figure out what the heck is wrong. Open for suggestionsps, I have never changed the fuel filter. What does one run like when it needs carbs synced? 2000 RSV MM Edition, I bought it in july of 2010 with 18,000 miles on it and I now have 39,000 so I assume it must have set a bunch

Thanks for the info, I also have thought about going with the double spring thing.

Which Kit did you buy?

Well I wish this thread would have ended at about thre first ten posts/replies. It's really to bad that most anytime you ask about something it turns into a this is better or you shouldn't spend more money or what ever. As for the Barnett why would someone assume a person is buying it because it looks good. Most people I know realize you can't see the thing after an install anyway and for someone to suggest that the Barnett spring and the PCW spring are the same thing is foolish because they are different in everyway. In the future I guess the best thing to do is just not ask so as to not offend someone and have the thread turn into a this is better and you are stupid to spend more money for looks. Sorry to rant but it gets annoying that this happens almost every time.

All I need is a place to throw a 3 man tent up and I am good.

Thank You all for your comments and they all helped me make my decission. Nothing against any of the kits/parts or what have you but I am going to go with the Barnett Spring update kit. I like the fact that it is a pressure plate with coils springs and since I ride two up most of the time and pull a trailer I believe it is the best way for me to go. Again Thanks Rick

Thanks for the Info but I have learned over and over many times to stop using the wrist torque wrench. In fact I probably have one of the best easy out sets you can buy. I went to Menards and bought a torque wrench yesterday before I even ordered my spring kit so I wouldn't attempt to do it the other way.

Can a couple from Illinois sneak in as long as we behave and bring beer? If so I believe the wife and I will take a trip up your way. Rick

OK I see all the threads and posts about upgrading the spring on the RSV clutch but can't find anything on where to purchase the upgraded spring kit. I am getting a tiny bit of slippage when I really roll the throttle back in 2bd gear and thought if I changed the spring to the upgraded one it would stop this. What do you all think anf if you think mit will solve the problem which kit and where do I get it. Thanks Rick

Thank You, Either it is suppose to be that way or we have been riding ours with it the wrong way.

OK I have a question. On the right side of the bike (when sitting on it) just above the window that you check your oil in there is a little tube (about the diameter of a wd40 straw and about as long) coming of a little plug type thing. Is this a vent tube of some sort or should it be hooked to something. I have never noticed it before and it runs forward and down like a vent. Open for info please advise:whistling:

Well I guess it was going to happen sometime ............now don't you all feel bad for talking to me that way. OK big group hug, OK I feel much better thanks.

I couldn't decide when I was looking and probably would have ended up with one if I could have found as good a deal as I did on the RSV, But then again I wouldn't have found you all.

If it is running warm/hot there is a problem. Removing the thermostat will not make it run cooler. If it is an older bike take the radiator out and have it cleaned at a shop.

Call Federal at 309-694-4300 tell the operator you want to talk to jackie in Motorcycles and she will take care of you. They ship more motorcycles all over the world than anybody plus they are crated to avois any damage.

Welcome......Seafoam fuel additive and run the crap out of it. Miner did the same thing when I bought mine. A 2000 MM edition I bought last July with 20,000 miles on it. I now have 39000 miles and it runs great. Also don't be afraid to run up the RPM's 80 MPH in 3 rd gear is nothinjg for these bikes. If you do all this it will probably run a bunch better. Oh and you will find joining the forum is the best 12 bucks you ever spent. There are so many of us that have encountered every kind of problems it's like having your own personal ifo guy around. Also rule number one on this board is PICTURES OF THE BIKE must be posted or it doesn't excist -
Why after warning people does this always have to become an Isaid she said thing. I heard the warning and I still choose to use FaceBook as I always have. I guess people shouldn't take things personal and such.
